Whew—Hayden Blaze definitely lives up to his name, because this man brings the heat! This enemies-to-lovers, age-gap romance was everything I wanted and more. From the very first scene, the tension between Cathy and Hayden crackles like a live wire. She’s sassy, stubborn, and curvy in all the best ways, while Hayden is the classic grumpy, overprotective alpha who absolutely knows what he wants. Spoiler: it’s her.
Their history makes the slow-burning (and then not-so-slow!) romance even sweeter. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic adds layers of banter and emotional tension that made their eventual surrender to each other that much more satisfying. And once Cathy ends up living under Hayden’s roof after her house fire? Let’s just say… good luck putting that fire out.
Add in a bit of mystery with those unexplained bruises and Hayden’s fierce protectiveness? Chef’s kiss. The only thing hotter than the fire he pulled her out of is the one he ignites between them.

This was an enemy-to-lover, suspenseful, and the-truth-sets-you-free type of story. Cathy is digging around a story about a company that wants to buy her grandma’s home, which had fallen under the VA’s guidelines of protection, but somehow that wasn’t happening. As Cathy, who is a reporter, started digging into this company wanting to buy her grandparents' property, she soon began to realize some dirty, underhanded deals were being made to unsuspecting senior citizens. And then her grandmother, who was readily available to her at all times, was not.
For two days, she had not been able to make contact with her. She was making arrangements to head her grandmother’s way when she got a call from one of two veteran brothers, Jack Turner, who, with their wives, were helping those displaced have roofs over their heads. He told her out of nowhere she was “doing just fine” at some veterans’ home she’d never heard of. One of the brothers built it. “The Everlove Haven,” he said, like it wasn’t the most suspiciously romantic name for a care facility in the world.
She didn’t get a chance to ask him why her grandmother was there in the first place. Cathy was too busy grabbing her laptop, tossing her files in a bag, and getting herself on the icy highway not salted since last Christmas. Now here she was, twenty-four years old, running on fumes, heart pounding like she’d already missed something important. Now the brothers are doing… this? Charity for veterans in Swoon Peaks. To her, she didn’t know. It sounds nice. Too nice. Her boots crunch into the snow; there’s a heavy ache sitting behind her ribs.

I enjoyed reading the story 'Firefighter's Curvy Obsession' by Marina Wilder. It's about a woman returning to her hometown to check on her grandmother who she has moved out of her house and into a retirement home. The company that is buying her home moved her out very fast along with several other veterans and their families. Cathy is a journalist and has been trying to expose the company. When she sees her grandmother at the retirement home, she also sees Hayden, her best friend's brother. She used to think highly of him but after an incident that happened on her prom night six years ago, she has been angry with him. Hayden is a firefighter that has brought puppies to the home to visit with the people that live there. After Cathy leaves and goes to stay at her grandmother's house, she is accosted by two men who work for the company that is trying to buy the house. She refuses to give up on her research and writing about what they are doing so they force her into a room and lock her in before setting a fire in her house. Hayden is called out to the fire and runs inside to save Cathy. He scoops her up into his arms and carries her outside. He has always loved Cathy but never told her and he never told her about the real truth about prom night. He has seen the fingerprint marks on Cathy's wrists and knows she was attacked so he does not leave her side in the hospital. He and his captain get Cathy to tell them what happened to her and Hayden told Cathy she will be staying with him at his house. He no longer hides how he feels about her. Cathy is amazed at finding out that Hayden truly cares for her, and she admits she cares for him too. He has vowed to stay by her side until she is safe again. It's a nice story about these two people acknowledging their true feelings for each other and how the community joins in her fight against the company and how they all pitch in to help her.

Obsessão Curvilínea do Bombeiro
Esse foi meu primeiro contato com a escrita da autora e eu gostei bastante. Esse livro tem várias coisinhas que eu gosto: enemies to lovers, mocinho bombeiro, mocinha melhor amiga da irmã dele, os dois presos debaixo do mesmo teto (onde só tem uma cama) e uma cachorra muito, MUITO fofa, sem falar que os bombeiros costumam levar uma vez por semana filhotinhos terapêuticos no lar de idosos onde a avó da mocinha mora, o que significa que também temos vários outros filhotes fofos e bombeiros bonitões nas páginas desse livro. E ainda tem um crime para ser levado à justiça, pois alguém botou fogo na casa da Cathy após atacá-la e deixá-la lá, desacordada, para queimar junto com a casa, e tanto ela quanto Hayden não vão parar até o culpado pagar por isso.
Só não dei a nota máxima por causa do motivo para Cathy odiar Hayden há seis anos. O cara deveria ter contado a verdade a ela ainda naquela época, mas já que não contou, deveria ter contado quando ela voltou para a vida dele, ainda com raiva. E tudo por causa de quê? Por uma lealdade a alguém que não merecia a menor consideração. Imperdoável para mim - mas, felizmente para Hayden, a Cathy é mais generosa do que eu. Mas o final foi super fofo, e o epílogo mais fofo ainda. Eu gostei demais e super recomendo!

This is one oh so hot ebook you definitely don't want to miss. I absolutely loved it! Cathy has always thought Hayden was the bad guy so she hated him. When she goes to see her grandma at a residential facility the first person who comes through the door is Hayden still extremely good looking but is now a firefighter holding a puppy. Talk about hot. She is also working on a corruption article about defrauding the elderly. Hayden sees Cathy and his feelings for her are stronger than ever. The sparks between them fly back and forth. But Hayden is keeping a big secret and danger is nearby. Their chemistry is off the charts and their deep connection can't be denied. Will Hayden and Cathy be able to build a life together with secrets and danger in their path to happiness? Can Cathy forgive Hayden after the truth is revealed and still give him her heart? Does Hayden explain to Cathy why he did what he did and does he admit his very strong feelings for her? ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5 stars)
I chose this randomly when looking for something quick and easy to pass the time with. I’d never heard from this author before, I didn’t read any reviews for this first and just went in blind and all in all it was a very average romance but it did what it set out to do 👍🏻.
It flowed well despite it being only 99 pages and 12 chapters, our main characters had a decent chemistry, and the spice gives you that fix you might be in need of 😁.

I chose this randomly when looking for something quick and easy to pass the time with. I’d never heard from this author before, I didn’t read any reviews for this first and just went in blind and all in all it was a very average romance but it did what it set out to do 👍🏻.
It flowed well despite it being only 99 pages and 12 chapters, our main characters had a decent chemistry, and the spice gives you that fix you might be in need of 😁.

What a great story. Hayden and Cathy have known each other for years, he is her best friend's older brother. Cathy is a reporter who rushes to her grandmother when she hasn't heard from her for months only to find she is in a retirement home. She investigates the people who get veterans and old people to sign over their pensions and houses. At the home she encounters Hayden again as he is now a firefighter who goes, with a couple of others, with puppies to visit the Haven residents. He then rescues her from a fire lit by the people she is investigating which restarts their love story. This is a page-turner.

i have lots of thoughts and unfortunately nothing good. it started out strong with hate banter & tension. However the story got lost inbetween all the "over descriptions" like " the sky's dipped into soft gold as we drive home, the sun slanting low through the trees like it's trying to evesdrop on us" page 74. it kept pulling me out of the story.
i was also confused for awhile because she hated him and then he saved her and she like forgot about it till the ending after they had a few night long sexcapades. and the reasoning she hated him? be so fr. if the fmc was 19-20 okay but blaming him for having a shitty prom date? i just wish i could scrub this from my memory💀

decent but has some errors
Marina is fabulous at fitting in all the emotions but at times it feels like that at the expense of the action details. For instance, early-ish into this book, when our firefighter takes his girl to his home, Cathy comments something like, “Is this the Kitty you talked to Shane about?” But at no point had either Kitty or Shane been discussed prior to this. In fact, it often felt like I should exactly who Shane was but it was t clearly stated in this book.
If these books are intended to only be read as a series and in order, that should be in every books description. Otherwise, more practical details are needed.

And the chemistry between them is OTT hot. Firefighter's Curvy Obsession was a great read by Marina Wilde.

Hayden is a hot firefighter, and he can be a jerk, but he’s seriously sweet when it comes to the people and animals he loves. Cathy is very much relatable, the sort of heroine who is realistic in her emotions and conflicts. He’s her best friend’s brother. She’s his rescue project. They are enemies, but not. Together, they are magic.
Add to this a wonderful grandmother, adorable dogs, and a little mystery, and you’ve got an entertaining story.

The book I’m reviewing today is titled, Firefighter's Curvy Obsession which is the first installment of the Blissmont County: Swoon Peaks Fire Station book series by Marina Wilder. This is a charming short read that tells a story of a man who is always protecting whats his even if Cathy doesn’t know it. I enjoyed the way Hayden obsesses over Cathy and understands everything about her. When the details come out Cathy finally realizes how wrong she has been. Good bedtime read.

a spicy, but cute read
Interesting story with a HEA. Cathy and Hayden go way back. His sister is her bestie from high school. I liked the story.
However, they both confess to being virgins and then he wants to punish her. While a very hot scene, very few virgins would consent. A couple of days later, she becomes the dominant and knows how to tie him up. Ok, maybe she liked sailing.
I did like this book enough to want to read Rose’s story.

My first time reading this author's work and I really enjoyed it. I am not usually a fan of short stories, but this one was pretty good. Being a curvy gal myself, I love it when authors write stories that are inclusive. There were a couple of unbelievable scenarios, but I figure it's fun fiction - go with it! If enemies to lover's romance with hot firefighters is your jam and you like a short read, grab this one for sure! I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.

Firefighters and Puppies.
I enjoyed this story. An easy read, HEA guaranteed, a splash of danger, a protective firefighter that has kept waiting for love of his life, and a whole lot of romance. What a great combination! While I would have liked to read more about the conflict resolution, I also like this point was was left light to leave the book simple and free of heavy drama.
