Marriage and then he left for a year. They run into each other and look Gor her wayward sister. They eventually consummate the marriage and live happy ever after. Was he celibate for that year? No telling. Not brought up. HEA though and perfect ever after....
Ten years ago Robert lost his fiance to a freak accident. Devastated and feeling guilty because he was there at the time and could not stop it from happening, he left London. At the request of is grandmother, now that he was the Duke of Emberford, he made arrangements with Georgiana’s parents for her to become his wife. An incident on their wedding night sent the angry Duke to his country estate where he resided for a year with very few trips to London where Georgiana resided. Georgiana’s parents had always been self-centered and frivolous with money, requiring her to make sure that there was food on the table and her sister Daisy was cared for. Daisy enjoyed attention and had an unrealistic romantic nature. With that in mind, Georgiana pursued her when she discovered that Lord Newston had convinced her to marry him by rushing off to Gretna Green. Along the way she ran into Robert who was doing the same thing. What follows is the story of two people redefining their relationship. Misconceptions, ignorance, false beliefs and pride played a big part in their seperation, and they had a lot of emotions to sort through. There are very endearing and steamy moments as well as a few terrifying ones, but all in all this is a lovely story about reconcilliation and the power of love. Most enjoyable!
Her Duke's Second Chance I enjoyed this clean romance. A marriage of convenience between Duke Robert and Lady Georgiana began with Robert abandoning Georgiana immediately after their wedding. One year later, Georgiana's sister, Daisy, had eloped and Georgiana was trying to catch up with them to prevent their marriage. Robert had the same idea and they met, accidentally, on their journey. After a slow start, they gradually rebuilt their relationship. Robert realises that Georgiana is nervous about intimacy and decides to court her properly. Will they be able to find happiness after all the problems? Read on and enjoy.
I got through this book but I found it weak. Based on the explanation in the book the dukes reaction to a previous loss just didn’t feel justified. There wasn’t time for the couple to develop their relationship when they reconnected before they were in bed together. I couldn’t feel passion in the words written. I really like this author but this book was a disappointment.
Great story wonderful story line great characters. Georgina and Robert were married, not knowing anything of marriage or being a wife,, their wedding night was not good. But fate brings them together again. And this is where their true story and love begins, giving them a second chance at a first love they never knew they had. Thank you ❤️
A story that shows how forgiveness and kind can solve a lot of issues. This story has lots going for it such as a villian, deception, misunderstandings, friendship, forgiveness, kindness, dysfunctional families, romance and love. Unfortunately for me the graphic sex scenes were too distracting from the story for me.
The Duke loses the first woman he is to marry then deserts the second. The bride has also been the care giver of the family but after marriage there is nearly no family. Delightful romp to resolve the mess.
Honestly it was hard to like Georgiana for about half of the book. She was so uncivil to Robert. Sure he did her wrong for a while but he was trying. Of course eventually that changes and the story proceeds as you would expect. Good book.
