I wanted to love this book but it has a very cheese, sorority sister/cheerleader turned sales person vibe. I feel like there IS good information in it but it's slathered in this sickly sweet flattery that just comes off as very insincere. They claim it's like a conversation with a girl friend but I've never met anyone who talks like this in real life. The tone of this book is like the "cool mom" in Mean Girls. The book tries so hard to be your hip BFF instead of just being down to earth and real. Unfortunately this just doesn't work for me.

Reader, I checked the book out, re-checked it out and then bought it.
I am marking this read, but am actually starting over as I lost some momentum waiting for my copy to arrive in the mail.
The toning exercizes go from really good to killer. I have never been motivated to do super hard exercises, but I am with this book.
Some might see the 5 stars, supposed to connote it is "amazing" and really disagree. It is frothy, and the peppy tone might grate. But, it is working for me where many other resources haven't.

I love tone it up workouts so much but this wasn't super helpful. A few good recipes though! I'll stick to their videos. I did enjoy the thesaurus style adverbs to compliment their beautiful beach babe mermaid fantastic readers.

It's no secret that I love Tone It Up! Karena and Katrina are fun and spontaneous and encouraging. Their workout DVDs are among my favorites and I've had good success with their program.

I preordered my copy of their book, and I loved making my way through it. I'm in the middle of another exercise program right now, but this is definitely next on my list. Their upbeat style is contagious! And while they certainly don't come from a Christian perspective, their challenges for personal growth often remind me of Scripture. I plan to do topical Bible study to coordinate with the daily challenges when I begin the program; I think it will flow together beautifully.

My one caveat is that K&K have beautiful bodies and are not afraid to show them. It feels two-faced to mention it as seeing their pictures is what drew me to the program (yes, those are the results I'm working for!), but this is a book I'm not comfortable just leave around the house... It's just a little too much like a VS catalog on some pages.

Sans suivre le 28 jours, j'ai lu le livre au complet et il y a beaucoup de bon conseil, des bons entrainements etc. C'est non seulement un beau programme mais un bon guide aussi.

NOTE: I won this through a Goodreads promotion. I entered because I was familiar with the TIU girls from their workout videos and enewsletters.

First, the book is colorful, well organized and cheerful.

It's not just about exercise and diet. The TIU authors offer tips on how to motivate yourself to eat right and to exercise. For the 28 days, they offer a word of the day, and a mantra of the day. I love that.

For the exercise portion, the photos are in full color and have a beach background, which is very appealing. For the most part, they don't have cute (and annoying) names for the exercises.

The recipes are mixed in with the 28 day plan. I have not tried the recipes, so I can't say how they are.

I love that it offers so much motivation. Plus, it includes yoga and meditation.

Yes, there is a "you go girl vibe," but the authors know their science about diet and exercise. They have credible credentials that support their message.

This book seems to target women who are in their 20s and 30s and who want a healthy lifestyle. I'm not in that demographic, but their message resonates with me, and I think it could resonate with other women over 40.

It's a colorful and motivating guide for a healthy lifestyle. I would give this to any woman 18 and over who wants to live a healthy life.

I never knew about these two ladies with a K before this book. I like how they got together to write fierce, confident words to keep you inspired and encouraged to accomplish your goals.

I agree with Karena to play chill music in the morning on Pandora (I do that or a audiobook), meditate (prefer at night time to wind down but may try in am), like to read a scripture in the am and pm, and agree with give thanks! Gratitude is the right attitude. Need to be stress free, meditate, or chill out exercises as well as sleep more (which I try) and watch what you eat--put in your temple otherwise I will pay for it.

Suggest: morning rituals which again I got away from because I rather sleep. Got to get back on this. So helpful for emotional, spiritual, and mental. Be fabulous and fierce,, good words to confidence you! I like the Bible, daily words on the Holy Bible app.

I have been following the TONE IT UP girls Karena & Katrina for quite some time and I have become a part of the #TIUteam & #TIUcommunity couple years back. I love their positive energy and amazing recipes and workouts.

So of course, when the girls got a book deal, I had to have my own copy. What a great decision on my part!! I think every girl should have this book in their house. It's packed with positive messages, vibrating energy and it's written for us girls in mind.

This is not a diet book. It's a guideline on how to implement the small changes in your life, so you become the fit, fierce and fabulous version of yourself you can be.

This book is great for starting to change your habits and outlook one day at a time. Empowering and positive, it leaves you feeling like you're headed in the right direction and calls to your attention areas in your life that you may have ignored and need sprucing up.

I liked the workouts and the girls are very encouraging and have cute messages throughout the whole book. I found the workouts repetitive after a while though so I wouldn't recommend purchasing if you don't think you will use the workouts or recipes after you finish the 28 days.

NOTE: I received a free copy of this book from Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.

I liked the format of this book. It was very easy to read and most of the exercises were feasible for someone of just about any physical condition.

I really enjoyed the mantra for each day and the word to focus on. Very positive reading!

It’s a realistic plan to follow, some of the recipes were a little odd, but I’m a bit picky when it comes to food, so I avoided some of the recipes I knew I wouldn’t eat.

Overall, I think it is a manageable plan and brings together a lot of the common sense advice recommended in order to lose weight and become more fit.

The fact that the authors are friends comes through clearly with the images and stories they tell throughout the book.

I found the nutritional information to be the most helpful while the exercises ranged from easy to advanced, some of which I have yet to perfect or attempt. My favorite excerises are the squat with leg abduction, bridge with chest press, and heat wave.

I tried one recipe (the lemon veggie and tofu stir fry) and didn't care for it, neither did DH. None of the other recipes appealed to me but tastes vary.

Overall, I definitely think the authors know what they're talking about. I mean, wow, look at their bodies. And, I've seen progress on my own body so I definitely recommend this book.

I clearly did not do the 28 plan, if you notice how long it took me to read this (I was SAVORING it DUH - or always distracted by other things) ... But I LOOOOOVED it! So gorgeous, the pictures and the layout. And I love that it wasn't strictly diet and exercise - so much "lifestyle" stuff, tips and challenges to look after your mind, soul and spirit too. So much love and positivity! Will definitely do the challenge in the future when I feel up to it. <3 <3 <3
