Edge of Forever

Rate this book
The first time I laid eyes on Kirsten, I knew she was going to be mine.

But I had to wait until she was ready.

Now she is, but I’m about to go on tour and she’s going off to college—how the hell are we going to make this work?

The odds are stacked against us, but I’m willing to risk it.

I just don’t know if it’s fair.

To either of us.

We’re teetering on the edge of forever…but is our love strong enough to keep us from going over the edge?

Fantastic Beginning

What a great way to kick off the new Crimson Edge series. This is a glimpse at Kirsten and Sam and the beginning of their relationship. He’s the guitarist for Crimson Edge and Kirsten has already had her number 1 hit. She’s only had a couple of weeks before she graduates but her time with Sam is turning out to be so much more and she feels that she’s ready for it.

Sam seems like such a sweetheart always trying to do what’s best for Kirsten. Now she is faced with a big life changing decision. I can’t wait for this series to continue.

Kirsten and Sam have been waiting on her to become 18 in oder to give into their attraction. I loved Sam and how respectful he is of her. She's about to become one of the biggest names in music and he's trying to do the same with his band.

The story was sweet and left quite a few questions in my mind but since we're about to see them again when the series continues I can’t wait to read what follows next.

5 Star Review Edge Of Forever (Crimson Edge Prequel) by Kat Mizera

I was excited when I heard that Ms. Mizera had a new series releasing and if the prequel Edge Of Forever is anything to go by, then she s off to a flying start.

This is Crimson Edge drummer Sam and Kirsten’s story and it has whet my appetite for this new series.

This was a fabulous read that ticked the boxes for me. As Sam and Kirsten explore their love you can feel the intensity.

I loved how Sam was prepared to wait for Kirsten and it was at times an emotional read.

Cannot wait to see what the author has in store for this series.

This is a prequel novella for the new band series Crimson Edge by Kat Mizera. Kirsten Aiken singer met Sam Fielding, guitarist a year ago when she was 17 and he was 22 and there was no denying the instant attraction they had with each other. They were smart and took time to wait, getting to know each other first. But tonight, now that Kirsten is 18 and it is her final prom, will be the only chance they have to celebrate their love for each other in that special way. Because in a month or so Sam going on tour with his band Crimson Edge (opening for Nobody’s Fool) and Kirsten going off to college. Or will she because Kirsten just got the chance of a lifetime and it means delaying school.

Definitely cannot wait to see where this relationship and this series is going to go. While this book is steamy, it is also innocent in its own way. Some people do find their true forever loves while in high school

Thanks to 1852 Media and Kat Mizera for an ARC of this book for my honest opinion.

I already know I’m going to love the Crimson Edge series since Kat never disappoints with her rock star romance! This was a great peak into the band with Kirsten and Sam. We’ve met Kirsten before as she is Sydney’s younger sister (Sydney and Ford from the Onyx Knight series) and now that Kirsten is legal age, she is able to pursue her romance with Sam.
A quick read to set the stage for this couple and although there is a sweet ending, I know there will be more for them to come!
I always enjoy how Kat manages to overlap her rock stars with her hockey men and protectors and we saw a bit of that. One of my favorite pieces though has to be this one:
Gina’s going to college in Spain. Cathryn is joining the military. Our friend Jami is going to school in Seattle. And the final friend in our group, Elise, will be playing Division One hockey at a school in New England.
Love the call out to our Bang Brother authors!
Looking for more of the men of Crimson Edge and the women who ground them with this series and hopefully some peeks at what some of our favorite past characters are doing!!

Sweet and steamy first love novella.

Although the main characters are quite young (18 and 23) and just starting in life, the story is masterfully written and appealing to a more mature audience. If anything this novella makes one remember one’s youth.

Sam and Kirsten had to wait to be together despite their instant attraction, as Kirsten was just seventeen when they first meet.

As they finally start exploring their connection they are also just starting in their careers and it seems as life will take them on different paths and they need to figure out what to do moving forward.

It si such a sweet love story and Sam is so patient and cognizant of how young Kirsten is. He’s constantly mindful of not taking away her choices. Watching them navigate the challenges of their young love is so relatable.

I’m so excited for the Crimson Edge series and their final story as part of this series.

I have received an ARC and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

Kirsten Aiken just turned eighteen and is graduating from high school and set to go off to college. But unlike other high school seniors two years ago she did a duet with the platinum selling rock band Onyx Knight that went to #1.
Tonight is prom and her date is Sam Fielding who's 23 and the lead guitarist for Crimson Edge. She's been in love with him for over a year but their ages have kept it from being more than friends until now. Tonight will change everything!

Sam is getting ready to go on tour and Kirsten off to college and even though there is love between them he doesn't want her to miss out on anything or be tied down.
What happens when Kirsten is asked to go on tour with Nobody's Fool to be a backup for Lexi who is pregnant? Will this change things between Sam and Kirsten? Will they find someone else?

Sam and Kirsten had great chemistry and I appreciated how they waited, while texting and getting to know each other, before they truly started dating. Their timing really wasn’t great: she was a minor and then he was just getting ready for a tour with his band. Seeing her sister was nice, as well as her brother-in-law.

The fact that she was younger, but actually had more success was an interesting twist. Even with the support of her family and his band mates, it wasn’t an easy relationship. She still had to finish high school, then college, and he was busy starting his career (recording and then touring).

I really liked this book and was happy that neither had to give up their dreams to be together. I didn’t see the resolution coming, which made the ending they much sweeter. I can’t wait to see what happens with his friends/bandmates. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Sam is the lead guitarist for Crimson Edge who will be heading out on tour with Nobody's Fool. Kirsten is a soon to be graduating high school senior looking forward to college in New York in the Fall. Sam and Kirsten met when she was 17, and he was 22. They were immediately attracted to each other but had to take it slow with Kirsten's age. They spent the next year getting to know each other. With prom night looming, Kirsten and Sam plan on showing each other how much they love each other. Will Sam and Kirsten try a long distance relationship or break things off? When Kirsten is given the opportunity to be Lexi's backup on tour, will she take it to spend more time with Sam and possibly delay starting college? I loved Sam and Kirsten! Edge of Forever is a great start to the Crimson Edge series by Kat Mizera. I received an ARC copy of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

The start of something wonderful

Edge of Forever is a gripping prequel novella that offers a glimpse into the beginning of an intense and passionate romance, set against the backdrop of the rock-and-roll lifestyle and the uncertainty that comes with young love. Kat Mizera is one of my go-to authors and her writing captures the emotional depth and connection of the characters (Kirsten and Sam), drawing the reader into the characters' journeys that is filled with finding independence, self-discovery, and finding balance between pursuing one’s dreams and building a relationship that has potential for forever. This novella is heartwarming, poignant, full of tension and promise.

It's a wonderful, emotional ride that will leave you wanting more and anticipating the next novel in the series.

For a start to a new spin off series, this one is good about bridging the old series and introducing the new one. Sure it revolves around Kirsten and Sam and how they are dealing with a potentially new relationship. Sam seems like he's all in, yet he knows with Kirsten just graduation high school, he doesn't want to take away potential life experiences he's already had. It's hard. Then Kirsten is dealing with wanting to go to college, yet is being given this amazing choice that could start her out in a career she really wants now. The two of them are doing a great job through it all and talking. It will be interesting to see where things go from here from them and the others in Sam's band.

This is a short and sweet prequel where we're introduced to Crimson Edge through Sam and Kirsten who will be featuring in a later book it seems. This gives us a short glimpse into the early days of their relationship after waiting to date until she's a little older. It was an enjoyable and easy read but is just a snapshot of their story so low angst and low drama (they're almost too cute together at this point). Looking forward to getting to know the rest of the band properly and getting more of Sam and Kirsten's story. Hoping that things will go to plan with Kirsten on tour with the guys and helping out when needed with another band but I'm sure there will be some interesting drama to come!

My personal life is in upheaval at the moment. I started reading the prequel sitting in a hospital waiting room. It was like being wrapped in a warm blanket. The characters show a level of maturity, wisdom, and yes, a sense of accountability. I was particularly impressed by the strength and maturity that both people exercised to create a sustainable relationship. In a world where most people rush to judgement, Sam and Kristen are taking their time and the relationship is the better for it.

Kat, a teaser worthy of Shakespeare. I really enjoyed the read and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Slightly angsty and addictive! Kat Mizera is kicking off a brand new rockstar series with a prequel novella with a familiar heroine that we met in her sister Sydney's story. I really enjoyed getting to know Kirsten and Sam and get a little jumpstart into knowing the guys in Crimson Edge a little bit, but it's going to drive me a little crazy to not get the rest of their story until Book 5. I enjoyed their connection and the glimpse into her life and his career so far, but there was a really abrupt ending and now a delay for several books to wait for more. I'm sure they'll be worth it ... but I might kick and scream along the way to getting there. First love, slight age gap, rockstar.

Edge of Forever, the prequel to the Crimson Edge series follows the Crimson Edge drummer Sam Fielding and Kirsten Aiken. The pair first meet when Kirsten is only seventeen, and there is no denying the sparks that fly between them but Sam’s not going to let anything ruin their relationship so they decide to wait a year, getting to know one another better while Kirsten becomes a legal adult. Fast forward a year, and tonight is the night, the first and last night they will have together before Sam heads off on tour with his band, Crimson Edge, and Kirsten going off to school. Will Sam make it a special night to remember? Or can they change one night into forever?

Kirsten is an eighteen year old singer with a hit behind her already and Sam is the twenty three year old guitarist of the band The Crimson Edge that she has loved since she first met him. Sam promises to take Kirsten to her high school prom, with the expectation that tonight's 'the night'! With that amount of expectation, can it live up to everything Kirsten desires?

This is the story of young love, growing together and desire for the future. Loved this quick novella, with well rounded characters and a storyline that makes me want to read this series when it comes out.

A new rock star series? Yes please. Edge of forever is just a tease into what we can expect to come. Sam and Kristen are sweet whispers and new adventures. They met, got to know each other and fell in love. But I have a feeling there is more hard edges to come. I cannot wait. So excited to meet these new characters and see what obstacles they have to climb over!

Sam and Kirsten are just starting out and already it seems things are against them. This is the introduction to a new series and it leaves us anticipating the new books and characters. They had been dancing around one another for years... she was a minor when they first met. I loved that they each had their own success and weren't given up their futures for the other. Can't wait for the new series.

This was a great reintroduction to characters that we had met in other books. We loved Kirsten when she sang with Onyx Night and we knew the Crimson Edge would be going places. When they met, sparks flew however Kirsten was still under age and Sam needed to be patient. Prom, what a night to celebrate so many firsts for these two. It will be fun to see where this world takes these two. Great start to this new series.

Edge of Forever is an amazing introduction to the new series Crimson Edge. This is the prequel you will not want to miss. You get the beginning of Kirsten and Sam and an introduction to Sam and his band mates. I cannot wait to get to know each member and see where the tour takes Sam and Kirsten. This is the beginning of a young relationship and the pull of music that brings them together. I cannot wait for more to come.

Novella introducing a new series Crimson Edge. Sam is the guitarist of Crimson Edge and in love with Kirsten she is younger but they just fit. Kirsten seems wise beyond her years and they want to give it a shot. They are long distance friends for some time. Once they have some time together their friendship becomes more romantic. Fate intervenes and we will see if it is for the best or not!

This story is well written and easy to read and provides a great entry into the Crimson Edge series. Given the age of the characters, particularly Kirsten, I was afraid that the story was going to feel too YA, but these characters and their story and dealing with adult decisions without the angst found in YA stories.
A very enjoyable read.

Rockstar going on tour/college student, navigating distance, sweet with hot spice.

This is a prequel to series that will be coming out soon. No need to have read anything else to enjoy this. It is short as it is a novella, as expected (but still plenty of spice!).
