Namely, a surprise six-month old baby recently orphaned by his mom, a dead woman who was a two-night fling—someone Braxton barely remembers.

When her hostile twin arrives, he wishes he could forget them both. Because Emberleigh Carrington, who is beautiful, brilliant, and filthy rich, is determined to make his life a living hell.

Starting with contesting custody of her nephew—Braxton’s newfound son.

She wants to fight.

Braxton is ready for battle.

That is, until he realizes he’s met his match—in love and war.

Is it fate? Is it disaster in the making? Or is it a preview of what could be the best thing ever to enter Braxton’s life? He and Emberleigh were definitely at odds in the beginning, but as they got to know each other, got to see just how the other side operated, and found that maybe they had a lot more in common than anticipated, they trotted toward love. But will that love remain strong and true in the face of what’s coming their way?

I loved the first book of this series and knew I needed more of this family. I was definitely pleased to see how Braxton and his story turned out. He took the discovery of a son in stride and sure, he fumbled a few times, but what new parent doesn’t? And once he got over the invasion known as Emberleigh, their coparenting skills were on point. He just didn’t count on falling for the one person who could destroy his world.

As for Emberleigh, she irked me at first. But her brashness and stubborn ways also served as a fantastic mask to hide her grief and suffering. And honestly, I think my annoyance was gone before her first phase of the “I’m not leaving” plan was complete. She was selfless, loyal, stubborn to a T, and put her new family by choice above all else. She did all of this even while going through danger and drama herself, but never once gave anyone reason to question her intent. And she also never backed down from a challenge, which was exactly what Braxton needed for his perfect match.

I won’t ruin the surprise of how it all almost falls apart, but I will say that Braxton proved to be a much more secure and willing to forgive figure than I could’ve hoped. He knew that someone else was suffering and did all he could to support and guide those most hurt toward a future they could endure and maybe even enjoy. And he did it with the gentleness that all parties involved needed. So it’s no surprise to me that Emberleigh loved him so much. Or that he loved her. The surprise was when I hit the very last page and realized I’m done with this family for now. And I’m not okay with that. But I know we have some fun tales coming our way soon, so I’ll try to be patient. Try.

Braxton by Hadley Finn, the second book in the Rangers series is an intense ride! Braxton is surprised to find he’s a father to a 6 month old and even more surprised to learn the mother (a two-night stand) is dead, and he is made guardian. Even more astounding than that is Emberleigh, the dead mom’s twin sister walks into his home (moves in, really), with the excuse that the baby is her last attachment to her sister and she is not letting go. Neither are her parents who want to fight for custody.

This surprise baby, enemy’s to lovers is a rollercoaster of emotions, twists and turns, and suspense. I felt the intensity of the connection Braxton and Emberleigh had right from the first moment. Their stubbornness and sarcasm toward each other was palpable as they grew to understand each other’s motives and focused on Colt’s well being. Braxton is an alpha male who frequently screws things up as his friend Eli said, but is quick to see his mistakes and apologize and seek forgiveness. Emberliegh is rich, hard working, sarcastic, and beautiful. A perfect foil for Braxton.

There is so much drama and tension Ms Finn entwines around Braxton, Emberleigh, and Colt it’s palpable. It is a fast paced, fierce story that had my heart racing not only during the suspenseful scenes, but their intimate sexy times as well.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I enjoyed Braxton very much. I highly recommend and will now go back to read Exton the first book in the series. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series too!! This is my honest review given freely.

Ok. Brutal honesty. I struggled through a few things in this story. I, personally, find it yucky that Brax slept with Emberleigh’s sister, and is the father of her child. It also bothers me that it wasn’t really addressed in the story, especially when Brax started calling Emberleigh, “Em”. This is a personal issue, though, and not something that actually impacts the story itself. The relationship between the MCs progressed exactly right. Brutal enemies evolving to a partnership, and finally more. I appreciated that their actual physical relationship seemed organic and natural, with each overcoming the hurdles necessary to make it work. The issues they had to overcome, the pain and suffering, and discovering the culprit behind it all, made this story captivating, and I was thinking about the story whenever I was unable to actually be reading it.

Now. When is Brightons story releasing?! :)

I love this book and series!

I will admit that in the beginning, I didn’t like the h at all. I mean you just can’t barge in and do what she did. However, she grew on me at about the same rate she grew on the H. I ended up loving them as a couple. As with the first book in the series, Exton, this one is a quick, well-written, fast-paced, read with lots of twists and turns. I was surprised to find out who was behind all the problems they faced as a couple.

I love seeing a lot of the characters from Exton in this book and catching up with them. I am sad that there are only four Ranger siblings (two more books in the series to go). I don’t want to leave their world. So far, I love everything Hadley Finn has written!

Truth is, a don't read books with surprise babies. I immediately stop, but I love the ranger family. Braxton has the shock of his life, when he learns he is a father after a one nightstand.

Emberleigh is going to protect her nephew. Her twin sister's baby boy.

This complex story is full of suspense, lust, family issues and love. I will say it's so complicated. The question is will Emberleigh now be her nephew's mother? And will she mow be her twin sister's lover? Enjoy the story.

This is the 2nd book in the Ranger series. It is about Braxton, one of the brothers and Emberleigh. Their first meeting was explosive! I loved how they came together slowly but when tey did, it was fire. As always their Dad is absolutely hilarious! When can I get Brighton’s book?

I’m not a huge enemy-to-lovers fan, but I love Hadley Finn’s writing, so I took the chance with Braxton. And I’m so glad that I did.

Braxton Ranger gets the surprise of his life when someone from the state shows up on his doorsteps. He thought that his life had been turned upside down, but then a tornado named Emberleigh comes to the ranch and all hell broke loose.

I fell in love with the Ranger family when I read Exton and this book only solidified that love. I can’t wait for more!

Where do I begin to describe this book. The characters are very well built. I really enjoyed this book. It was a great second book in a hopefully long list of books. I'm forever grateful that a character i really liked didn't get a Sergio. Or did they? I like the way the story unfolds with Braxton and Emberleigh.

I don't rate my books because I wouldn't have published it if I didn't love it. And I love Braxton and Emberleigh -- love everything about them! The snarky alpha-hole becomes a marshmallow but only for the right woman. Emberleigh is obviously the right woman, soft and strong, smart and vulnerable, grieving and gracious. I hope you love this family-in-the-making and the nosy ensemble that is life on the Ranger ranch.

Braxton is a contemporary romance with suspense elements set in the Texas Hill Country with a large, boisterous family. This book includes birth and death, grief and loss, more than one Saturday Night Live reference, and penis-shaped foods. It's an enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity book with a Chapter 1 surprise baby.

Ugh, highly annoyed at the beginning of this book. 😡
1. Not a fan of baby tropes, no matter which way they go...though I don’t mind a single dad trope, so this one walks a fine line.
2. This is a surprise baby story. 6mo old baby, mom dies in a car accident, so congrats, you're a father 🎉
3. Braxton’s first reaction is surprise (naturally) and the cps worker berates him for being shocked...wtf 🙄 Everyone is entitled to that reaction to an unplanned pregnancy, why is he wrong for reacting that way to an unplanned 6 month old?
4. He calls his college roommate to be his legal council and while they are collecting info Braxton is still reeling and comments something about people usually getting months to prepare for the arrival, not hours. The college buddy blows up at him calling him insensitive and immature. 👎🏽 FFS, give him a minute to wrap his head around the situation!!
5. Enter the maternal aunt who shows up on his doorstep banging on the door loud enough to wake the baby, less than 24hrs after Braxton gains custody. She forces her way into his house and refuses to leave because the baby needs her, proceeds to pick up the baby, then plops herself down in his recliner and falls asleep holding the baby. I'm sorry, what?!
6. After Emberleigh sets off the security system the next morning (waking the baby, again) he threatens to call the police for trespassing if she doesn't leave. She counters by threatening to take the baby. When he leaves for the day (taking the baby with him) she calls her rich father and demands that he file an injunction that states she can stay in his house until the custody battle is over, less than 20 minutes later it's done.
7. Then she manages to have an entire bedroom delivered without anyone on the ranch noticing.

There are so many things wrong here, there just aren't enough WTFs to go around!! All this in the first five chapters 🙄

I will say after all that nonsense, the story does get better, however I had a very difficult time liking the FMC after the crap she pulled in the beginning of the book. It’s one thing to stand up for the well-being of the baby and push for what you think is right, but this woman completely bulldozed her way into a complete strangers house and refused to leave, and everyone just goes along with it?! Nope.

In the acknowledgments at the end of the book, the author invokes creative license for the absurdity of some of the events, however I still think it could have been written better without being so far out there on the believability scale.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I love romance, so it’s odd that I rarely get a chance to review romance books. But when I had the opportunity to read and review Hadley Finn’s Braxton, I leaped at it.

1. Thoughts on the plot
This book follows Braxton, who discovers he’s a father of six-month-old Colt after Colt’s mother dies in a car accident. The only problem is that her twin sister, Emberleigh, is prepared to do anything to stay in her nephew’s life.
I will admit, I very nearly DNF’d this book within the first 10% because there were just a few situations (such as Emberleigh moving in to Braxton’s house without permission) that were just so illogical as to be enough to almost ruin the story. But, then, the author actually does something not a lot of other authors do, and explains things! And it works! I love that and appreciate it a great deal. I will say that the plot of this book borders on the overdramatic/unrealistic, especially at the end, however it manages to work relatively well with the story that is presented. I do feel like some of the motivations (esp. Bronwyn) are a little rushed, or are missing altogether, but a few small paragraph long explanations being missing aren’t going to ruin the plot for me.

2. Thoughts on the characters
Just as I was not super keen on the first 10% of the plot, nor did I immediately like Braxton and Emberleigh. Braxton started off like a bunch of other alpha romance heros I’ve read and hated; a little quick to judge, a little quick to dismiss, and a little loud in his very angry opinions. But he grew on me massively and actually had some of the best dialogue in the whole book. Emberleigh became more interesting, also, once it was explained that her rash actions weren’t because she was, at heart, a rash and unthinking person, but because she actually cared so much that she couldn’t contain it. I appreciate that a lot, as I have read a bunch of stories where people are rash just because and it rarely ends well for the book.
I think, again, there were some scenes missing that could have added a lot of background info with the characters, such as direct interactions with Emberleigh and her parents before the plot happenings happened. Or Braxton and Colt’s mother, even in thought. But those were fairly minor things and I still like the characters regardless.

3. Favourite part
Braxton’s dialogue, and the overall way that he treated Emberleigh and people. I just…swoon.

4. Critique
My only real critique are those potentially missing scenes/details mentioned above. Not major, did not ruin the plot or characters at all, but could have really expanded the story in parts where it was lacking.

Overall, I would say that Braxton was a steamy, well-crafted romance novel with characters to love and a story I can get behind. A very good book.

Braxton and Emberleigh are not just HOT in Hadley Finn's new book, but they are determined to do whatever they have to to protect Braxton's new son, Colt, from an unlikely source of danger!

I am in LOVE with the Ranger family! Even when Braxton finds out at the last possible minute that he's a new father, his entire family (including the family lawyer, Elias) steps up to do whatever is needed to make sure that Braxton and Colt have what they need on the ranch for a new baby. Braxton just wasn't expecting Colt to come with an unexpected bit of his other family's legacy.

Emberleigh Carrington, well she comes off as a bit of a snob, but you can see through that almost immediately. She's a woman grieving. Grieving for her her twin, afraid that a man she doesn't know at all is going to take the only living memory she has left of her sister away from her. Soon though she can see how much Braxton loves his boy.

Hadley Finn kept me on my toes throughout this book! The suspense is out of control, with the Carringtons and the Rangers both fighting for Colt, and something hinky going on between Brighton and Elias.

Once I figured out that Emberleigh wasn't at the Ranger ranch to follow the demands of the Carringtons, there's still so much going on, and at one point when I thought I had it all figured out, I swear Finn was shouting "PLOT TWIST" from the privacy of her own home!

On top of that the steamy, sexy times between Em and Brax are BEYOND hot and sweet. Brax is in love almost from page one, except when he's figuring out whether he can trust Emberleigh, and I swear it seemed at some points like Emberleigh was just getting her rocks off. Nothing wrong with that, it just took me a little longer to like her that's all.

5 stars for the second in the Rangers series, I'm SO EXCITED for Brighton's book, please write faster!!

This is my first read by Hadley Finn and I have to say she has grabbed a new fan! Enemy-to-lovers is not really a go-to read for me but Braxton caught my attention and the blurb sounded good – so glad I took a chance!

Braxton’s life got turn upside down when a social worker came knocking on his door. The news? He is a father to six-month old son Colt from a one-night stand with Emerson (she died in an accident) – a son he never knew about. He calls in the troops for help and they all get down to business preparing for Colt and keeping the ranch running.

However, Braxton is about to have his life turned even more by another knock on his door! This time around its Emberleigh, Emerson’s twin sister, and she isn’t leaving his home until Colt is finally hers! The battle lines have just been drawn! Colt is the prize – let the custody battle begin!

Even though Braxton and Emberleigh are “fighting” over Colt, over time they start “fighting” their feelings for one another. Soon they find themselves caring for Colt like a couple normally would and taking turns with the responsibilities of the day – each take Colt for a couple of hours while the other can go to work. With that being said, someone has now threatened Braxton, Colt, and his family – another battle is brewing! He is determined to protect them all!

Great characters, a good amount of danger, a few twists and turns, a family most would love to have – all these things kept me glued to my Kindle! I have totally fallen in love with the whole Ranger family! I will have to go and grab some more books! Brighton – I cannot wait to read that book!

Wow, this was so much more than I had anticipated. The plot gets going right from the start. Braxton’s life is changed overnight when he finds out that he has a six-month old son from a one-night stand some time ago. As he prepares for the changes to his life, his baby momma’s twin sister, Emberleigh, thrust her into his world and digs in her heels without a fight for Colt, her nephew. Colt is her last connection to her sister who had recently died and she is not going down without a fight for the precious bundle. But neither is Braxton. Through the hate and animosity though, they find a rhythm and soon enough find themselves realizing that maybe they don’t disklike each other so much. For both, Colt is a priority and he becomes the bond that brings Braxton and Emberleigh closer together as they learn to trust one another. The dynamics between Braxton and Emberleigh will never leave you bored and you find yourself craving for them more and more. In this book, crazy comes in the form of Emberleigh’s wealthy parents. What we thought would be a crazy custody battle becomes an actual fire fight. Things escalate and all you can do is read on through your anxiety to hopefully finding that happy place. Which you do get, I promise 😊. Overall, did not regret picking up this book. Will be looking forward to more novels by Hadley Finn.

Braxton is the second book in the Rangers series. To say things got off to a rocky start is the understatement of the century. Braxton is shocked beyond words when a surprise is delivered to his doorstep...in the form of a 6 month old baby boy. He is the result of a 2 night stand and Braxton barely remembers the mother of this child, a.k.a Emerson Carrington. Things go downhill from there. Enter Emberleigh Carrington... baby Colt's aunt. She is hostility personified from the minute she lands on his doorstep. Emberleigh is determined to raise her nephew and nothing is going to stop her. However, danger is lurking and it's all hands on deck to keep the baby and everyone safe. Not knowing who to trust, Braxton and Emberleigh decide to work together. That's when sparks fly as the attraction between them grows. Can they figure out who is behind the danger that hangs over them to get the HEA they deserve? Get this book ASAP and find out. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review

Braxton & Emberleigh are 🔥🔥🔥! They start off as enemies... well, no. I don't like that description, actually, for these two. They start off being on opposing sides due to life circumstances, but they have the same goal. And once they realize this, they work really well together for that goal. (The goal being giving Colt a happy, safe, secure life full of love!)

Their banter when fighting is funny, but it just gets even better when they work together, and even better still when they GET together. *grin*

Oh, and prepare for even more 🔥🔥🔥🔥 after THAT! 😍

So, basically, I love them! And the Ranger family. Pops is awesome!! This story has some intense moments, suspense, swoony moments, and is overall one of my favorite reads so far this year! I loved Exton & now I love Braxton, & I'm looking forward to the next family member's HEA!

Feels like a movie

Wow! This book is full of unexpected. I definitely love it better than Exton. More so, because the characters and story are more developed. The writing is more cohesive and the characters are well thought out. Unlike the first book, this one showed closure and reconciliation scenes.

Braxton and Emberleigh's love story is gradual and more natural. There's a physical attraction but it was not the focal point of how they got together. The love they both have for Colt took the center stage and the rest just fell into place.

I was surprised that this story is action packed and it's always good to keep the readers interested. Overall, i love the Rangers more and I can't wait to read Brighton's.

Fabulous read

Hadley Finn was a new author to me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

I can assure you that I have now downloaded her other 2 books in this series.

This book was well written, fast paced, exhilarating, hot and swoony too.

I never suspected where the story was going to go, so for me that was an exciting journey. The extended family of Pops, Brighton and Eli was an added treat.

Emberleigh was a bad ass, but I loved that girl. Her determination in the face of opposition and loss, made me cheer for her.

Braxton was gruff, rough and adorable around Colt.

All in all an excellent read, I’m off now to read book 1.

Great book!

I really loved this book Emberly I was such a gosh I don't even know how to describe her. But she came in with guns blazing ready to take Braxton down without him even understanding why! Just loved her character. Braxton now he was a humdinger ding ding ding. He was everything any woman would ask for. Hungry cowboy looking for his mate but not realizing it. Until Colton. Colt was everything any woman or man with love in your heart could want. Although his mom I had passed sissy wasn't about to let anybody raise her boy. Not even her father when he got in the mix. The ending was beautiful of course! This book had everything I was looking for!

Emberleigh Carrington & Braxton Ranger + Colt

This is my first book by Hadley Finn, I was a bit confused by the way it was listed on goodreads so I read book 2 before getting to read book 1. although I wasn't confused.

Brax is surprised when he finds out he is a father of a 6month old child. The mother has recently died, and her twin sister comes to town not wanting to let go of the last piece of her sister. This story is a whole lot of grieving, and figuring out your new normal. Brax and Emberleigh don't get along initially but they quickly realize how they are both fighting for the same thing.

Man, do I loooooove a good enemies to lovers romance!!! Braxton and Em….from the first moment they meet….are the definition of enemies.

Watching their relationship unfold organically and seeing their partnership with baby Colt was done so well. You could almost hear the ice melting around the two of them and feel the heat coming.

There’s nothing like a surprise baby and a bit of danger to bring a couple together! 🤣

I really did like this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series.

Braxton is book 2 in The Rangers series, but can be read as a standalone.

Braxton wakes up one day and finds himself with a son and a roommate. Not used to either of those things, there’s a lot of compromise happening. Emberleigh loses her sister and decided that the way to grieve is to move in with her dead sister’s baby daddy. Ok then.

Once you suspend belief a bit (and that Colt never goes to the pediatrician for one of the million visits babies have the first year), I’ll mark this in the beach read category.

I am so glad to have Braxton's book. I know all these Ranger stories are going to be good. And in my opinion, this book can be read as a standalone.
Braxton finds himself to be a new Dad and Emberleigh finds herself lost and alone. I didn't like Emberleigh at first but so glad she changed her tune, and quick. I thought I wouldn't like these two as a couple but once a Ranger commits, there is no holding back. Another exciting, suspenseful and great read by Hadley Finn.

Brax is a man’s man rancher and has no idea what is about to walk through his door! Em is broken and needs her nephew to unknowingly mend her heart. Brax and his family do more than that by giving her the family she unknowingly needs-but first drama comes fast and ugly.
