KA Hobbs lives with her husband in Essex. When she isn’t lost in a book or creating one, she loves to cook, swim, colour and shop. Her happiest times are always when she is surrounded by family and friends or watching Cinderella which some might say she is a little obsessed with. She is a little obsessed with the Tudors and would love to go back to that period in time.

One day, while watching TV, a scene came to her, completely out of the blue. She could see the scene unfolding, could picture the characters so clearly. She couldn't get to her laptop quick enough and spent hours writing not only that scene, but lots of others too.

She will happily admit to being grumpy when she doesn’t get to write, she loves her characters and spending time listening to what they have to say.

A few months back a very dear friend of mine asked if I’d like to read her friend’s book. I always think it’s an honor to be asked, and of course I said yes.
The day I sat down to read Doubt, I really expected to read a few chapters at a time, but that was not the case. I couldn’t stop I had to read it all. Sophie and Doug are such an amazing couple I had to know what was going to happen, what could Doug of done to cause doubt. I always do my best not to spoil anything. There is lots of HOT sex and sexy romance but you will also laugh and you will cry. I’m an emotional reader and I get caught up in the drama of the book, not a big surprise, I found myself yelling at the characters too. Sophie and Doug’s relationship is tested in more ways than one. They will go through some very emotional situations.
Not only are Sophie and Doug amazing but the supporting characters are fantastic. I think I love Harry Sophie’s brother the most. He had me laughing so hard.
This is a Beautiful story. You’ll feel like you are right there with the characters. I have read this book 4 times and every time it’s like the first. I look forward to reading the other books in the connected series. I have had some, okay LOTS of sneak peeks, and let me say OH MY GOSH!!!!! KA Hobbs is an author you’ll want to check out. She’s amazing and talented. You’ll fall in love with her books.

Sophia and Doug have the perfect life. A deep love, a very satisfying sex life! There is no doubt in Sophia's mind someday she will marry Doug and have beautiful children with deep blue eyes. Doug loves her, she knows he does. It is just a matter of the right time. Maybe they should live together first? But really, they were almost doing it anyway!
Sophia hated it when he had to go out of town! They missed each other terribly. Right? Of course they did, And the welcome home sex was the best! He could light her on fire anytime. any place. But did he really miss her as much as she missed him? When she starts to put pieces of his past together, they collide with the present, and maybe his business trips weren't all business. Doubts start creeping in. As do questions, Old wounds are opened. Could Doug prove to her she was all he wanted and needed?
A must read! Have a box of tissues and your favorite reading blanket, you will snuggle up, laugh and cry with these two!

I was lucky enough to see this very early on when it was still in beta stages .
The storyline will grip you by the heart. You will fall in love with Sophie, in lust with Doug and you will feel exactly what the characters feel through the authors writing.
The connected series will be one to watch out for. This lady will go far ;)
Totally recommended and an absolute gem of a debut!

So I was sucked into this book and the whirlwind that is Mr. Doug Roberts! He just has this charisma that wraps you around his little finger... I really enjoyed this book as it wasn't just a HEA love story, it's real. They have ups and downs, they have heartbreak and disasters. But most of all they have a once in a lifetime love that makes you believe in them and their story! Doug is a swoon worthy man! He has a cocky demeanour that borders on arrogance but never crosses that line! Sophie is a fairly strong and independent woman, she doesn't rely on Doug and I think for me that is the best part! I don't like weak characters, I like characters that can stand on their own feet and fight their way out of any situation and that is exactly why I love these characters. The story does get dark in places and is very emotional. Be prepared to want more and if you become a part of the 'I <3 Doug Roberts' fan club then be prepared to want to strangle him in places! If you want a book with a smooth love story then maybe this isn't for you, but if you want the real love story, the one that isn't smooth but that is rocky and bumpy then I recommend this book!

When I heard that Doubt was going to be released, I was so excited and had it on pre-order. It didn't disappoint.

It was hot stuff right from the beginning, and KA certainly doesn't leave ANYTHING to the imagination! (#didntknowyoucoulddothatwithastrawberry) As well as all the erotic scenes, we are drawn through Doug & Sophie's journey which has its up & downs, especially when Sophie discovers Doug's HUGE secret.

Though there is a LOT of sex in Doubt, there is a lot of love and you can really see how much they feel for each other, especially Doug who is besotted by Sophie. Without giving anything anyway, though Sophie is unsure at first you really come to see that she also has a lot of love to give and opens up her heart.

Now the ending, I didn't see coming. It produced tears for me as I really connected with Sophie after going through a similar experience myself and it really tugged at my heart strings.

Roll on part 2 of the series to see where they go...

Doubt is the first
Book in the Connected Series and what a start it is! I simply loved it....from the instant love to all the character, Doug holds a special place in my heart. The steam meter is at bursting in this book and I adored it...who knew you could do that with a strawberry!!! ;)

The characters, the story, he love and heartbreak as we delve into Doug and Sophie's Story. It's just incredible. One of my top reads of 2014. KA Hobbs is an incredible author with an incredible series ahead of her.

Already looking forward to the next on the series!

I am still in tears as I write this. I will be honest, there is a lot of sex in this book, a lot. As you are drawn into the story and the confusion Sophie feels, you begin to feel her pain. Then her joy again and my God, I was not prepared for the last few chapters. I can only sum it up as an emotional roller coaster, the funny bits make you giggle, the sex makes you blush and the rest...well, I will leave that for you to find out.

Phew...I am exhausted now. Fab read.

By the way, there should be a hot chili reader on this review because this book would get a 5 out of 5 again.

Doubt by KA Hobbs
This is my 4.5 star review
I was approached by a friend to help a friend of hers out with a cover reveal of her debut story. I agreed and said I would be more than happy to review it as well not know anything about the book. I am so glad I did. This book was full of everything a good book needs and one beautiful little girl with a heart and the ability to love as big as the sky itself.
Sophie and Doug are a couple that are so real and true to themselves unlike any other book couple I have ever read about. The love they share is so strong and unending that even when they get given the best and worst news on the planet they are able to hold on to the love they have to pull through it. When the worst possible thing could happen to Sophie it's hard for her to believe that Abigail, just a young child, can help her through all the bad in her world at the moment.
KA Hobbs is going to an author to watch for once she takes off. I personally can't wait to read more from her. She has a way to write a story that has a lot, and I mean a lot, of steamy sex in it and make it so the actually story shines first and foremost. Her writing style is one that you could actually take the sex out and it would still be a strong story. The characters are strong and hold their own. You will fall in love with them as well as cry when they do.
The only reason I did not rate this book a 5 is because the copy I received was a rough edit and had a lot of editing errors I have been told after talking with the author that it has been fixed.
I reviewed this book for A Literary Perusal Book Blog in exchange for an honest opinion.

Doubt by KA Hobbs

WOW, seriously, just wow. I am so emotionally drained after this rollercoaster, that after sobbing for the last half hour, I think I need to lie down and sleep. This book is amazing. It has so many dips and turns that as soon as you think your nearly at the end of the drama, you suddenly hit another loop and the whole order of the book is turned on its head again. This has been a super read. I loved the intricate characters and their absolutely undying love for each other is compelling.
Sophie is a makeup artist. She loves her job and her friends, but most of all is absolutely besotted with her boyfriend Doug. Sophie works around the clock and sometimes struggles to find time to fit in meals, never-mind time to socialise and fraternise with her sexy hunk of a man.
Doug works in a huge office and makes more money than he knows what to do with. He adores Sophie but hates that he has to leave her for days at a time as his job takes him away from her, to their other offices all over the world.
Doug and Sophie have a brilliant romance, they love each other unconditionally and there really seems like nothing could break them apart. They know what each other wants to eat before they've even said. They know each other's little quirks. They are a match made in heaven, nothing can change that, until that fateful day in the coffee shop when a chance sighting turns Sophie and Doug's works upside down.

We were given the opportunity by KA Hobbs to read and review Doubt. And are we so glad we did.

Doubt.
One word.
Awesome.

Doubt is Sophie and Doug’s story.
Together 18 months, they are happy. Like any new relationship they can’t keep their hands of each other. Enjoying every moment they have together. For them both life is great. They are content.

But one lunch date changes everything.

Sophie runs.
She needs too.
She has too.
She needs to get as far away as possible.
Everything has been a lie.
She’s hurting.
She’s broken.

But what could have possibly happened?
What secret has Doug been keeping?
Can they both get passed it?
Can they move on together?
Or is it time for them to part?
Can hearts be mended?
Or will they forever be broken?

Doubt is simply an awesome read. It kept us glued to every word from beginning to end. Full of emotion, we laughed and we cried. Our hearts broke. And the sex……Damn hot!!!!
We were drawn to Sophie and Doug. Their struggles, their happiness.
Doubt is simply a MUST READ.
We highly recommend that you put Doubt in your TBR list. A definite 5 star read.

*I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Sophie and Doug are the couple that just drive you CA-aRazy! They are perfect! They seem to have everything! They love each other more than the moon, they have great jobs, they have a great physical relationship.... but Doug goes away for business and something goes down. Sophie is very hurt and confused and Doug has something from before coming back to cause some issues.
Sophie has her reasons for her doubt, and Doug isn't helping her out.
This is a very steamy book, LOTS of sexual content. It's very tastefully done though.
KA Hobbs, has written a very relatable book. The emotions that are drawn out of you as you read this will have you laughing, crying and yelling at your kindle. It's fantastic!

I loved Doubt (Book 1)! It is a great love story! I am in love with Doug, Sophie! And, wow the sex between both Doug & Sophie is so HOT! Doug so loves Sophie too and you can tell by how he really takes care of Sophie! This book has brought out the tears but, then that shows it is a good book when it can bring out emotion! I can't wait to read the next book in the Connected Series: Assured.

I want to let you all know how gracious K. A. Hobbs was. I am sometimes computer challenged and I somehow lost the ARC to this book K. A. Hobbs helped this lost girl out.... Thank you so much K. A. Hobbs!

I was very lucky to win an ARC copy of this book and what a fabulous read it was, I found myself thinking about the characters when I wasn't reading it and not being able to wait to pick it up again. Lets just say that I do not look at strawberries in the same way that I did before. This is a must read and I hope that I will get to follow Sophie and Doug's story further. I think I am just a tiny bit in love with Doug!

Sophie and Doug seem to have it all. Their relationship is loving and intensely passionate. Sophie has no doubt that Doug is her future until she discovers he’s been keeping a life altering secret. Shaken to the core, Sophie questions her future with Doug. As she works to come to terms with this revelation, life continues to surprise. Sophie and Doug’s relationship continues to be tested…can they survive?

Doubt is a wonderful debut novel. It’s sexy and deeply emotional with a major plot twist I didn’t see coming. I truly thought I knew what Doug’s secret would be, and I was so happy I was wrong! I love Sophie and Doug as a couple. Hobbs did a great job creating the depth of her characters. You feel their emotions. I laughed with them, and I cried with them. The challenges they face are real and relatable, their story is an emotional rollercoaster, and Hobbs takes you along for the ride. There were a few slow moments in the book, but it’s so worth sticking through to the end. I’m looking forward to the continuation of the series and seeing what’s in store for Sophie and Doug.

The Perfect couple the perfect life everything is moving in the right direction, can something derail such perfection? Hiding things, plant the seed of doubt.
Sophie and Doug have been dating for about a year and a half. Doug had recently been hiding something from Sophie something that has changed his world. When Sophie finds out, she is hurt that he was hiding the truth from her. The perfect couple go through some terrible times.
This story is a perfect case of how the lack of communication can plant the seed of doubt. How easily the truth can be twisted in someone's mind if not explained properly or hidden.
Doug is every woman's BBF dream, kind, loving, passionate, understanding, romantic and sexy as hell.
This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster, so hang on for a bumpy ride ladies this book is a keeper!

I was given this book for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book. Since its an arc and not edited I will excuse the editing mistakes that i found.
Doug and Sophie both have respected careers and care about each other deeply. They have been together for 18 months and are both in love. During one night at dinner, Sophie has her world rocked to the point she doesn't know what to do. Doug has been keeping a secret from her and it's a big one! After a few weeks and a visit to the park, she realizes what is important in life and how she desperately wants it. She accepts the fact of why he didn't tell her and helps him along the way. They get stronger than they ever were before.

Doug and Sophie have been together for eighteen months. They both have successful careers and a healthy sex life (Strawberries, need I say more). Doug's work starts to take him away from Sophie even more, she then notices Doug acting strange. Late night calls and Doug disappearing into the other room to take the call. When Doug finally confesses what is going on, a blast from his past threatens to end their relationship. This is a story about love and if it truly can overcome anything.

This story does not take the turn that you think it will. I feel that this was a very real situation and was handled well by the author. The story can seem a little slow in places but I was never bored. Doug and Sophies relationship is beautiful, the stress that hits them from Doug's past has the potential to break any couple. Are they strong enough to adapt and change when the past hits them in the face?

I also want to bring to your attention that Doug is an amazing man. Not only is he as hot as hell and insatiable but he also melted my heart. Both main characters were very down to earth and relatable. This story will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, your heart won't know what hit it. One minute it will be racing from the sex scenes, the next it will be melting and then broken.

A very enjoyable read, I can't wait to read more.

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

“Since our worlds collided, it’s always been you, Sophie. Every breath, every beat of my heart, it’s all been for you. Without you, each breath is a struggle, my heart beats that little bit slower. I need you like I’ve never needed anyone or anything before.”

“The sun, the stars, this place, it all pales in comparison to you.”

My Review:

Oh swoon, that Doug is a sweet talker and is my newest BBF! He sounds divine and appears to be multi-talented and more than worth the effort. This is my first time reading KA Hobbs and this volume is the first in a series. Ms. Hobbs is obviously a talented wordsmith, and I am happy to have stumbled upon her works. Her writing is entertaining, absorbing, and highly sensual. I knew I was invested in the story when I found myself losing patience with the female lead – Sophie. I wanted to smack her more than a few times for her selfish and immature behavior, which had become increasingly tedious… but thankfully she came around and the world was sunny and bright again. But then… heartbreak and tragedy, and end of part one. Sigh. Lucky for me I already have book 2 - Assured - to start right away, or I would be in a world of hurt.

Sophie & Doug have a great relationship after 18 months of dating. But a surprise from Doug's past could end it all.

The story of Sophie and Doug is a very sweet and heart pulling. The story is mainly written from Sophie's point of view with a couple Doug POV's thrown in. I enjoyed the story and the great sex scenes - and there are a lot of them, these two can't get enough (and I don't think I have ever read a book where they take so many showers LOL). The only thing I didn't enjoy is Sophie in the middle of the book. Her reaction to Doug's news and continued reaction for two weeks got very irritating to me - especially seeing that she does the same thing to her parents that Doug did to her - not explaining things until they knew how they felt. I did enjoy the book, but Sophie's selfishness is what brought it down to 3 stars. But I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This ARC was received for an honest review.

I loved this book. I don't know why I waited so long to read it. It so sucked me in. Although it was a hard book for me to read as I could relate to Sophie's anguish I got so caught up in their love story. I read this in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. I was still sat at 12.30am reading although I couldn't see much through all the tears. I'm so glad my cousin recommended this book. I'm off to read book 2.

4.5 Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

Sophie and Doug have the picture-perfect relationship; when apart their hearts ache for the other. When a revelation comes to surface, it turns their world upside down. Can they survive? Are they strong enough to fight together?

KA Hobb's has left me with an aching heart and not just for Sophie and Doug. This book isn't just a sweet romance; it's a story full of passion, heartache, love, care and loss. This story will not only break your heart, it will give you a heart full of hope, love and compassion.

Sophie was a strong independent woman and it was clear her heart only had love for one man, Doug. However I cannot deny I had the urge more than once to slap her, she at times became short sighted and selfish. Although I do not feel this was intentional of her, I do wish I could have crawled into my kindle and knocked a little sense into her.

Doug was simply wonderful, a true romantic gentleman with a heart of gold. His decisions at times were not the best and he did make one huge mistake. However he still fought for what he loved and stopped at nothing until Sophie knew she was his life and soul and to have stood with hope for as long as he did considering the circumstances, proves how loyal and caring he truly was.

Sophie and Doug are passionate and this book is full of sexy and scorching HOT moments that are bound to leave you in need of a little relief or a very cold shower! It was clear how connected they were and how deep their love for each other was.

KA Hobbs has written Sophie and Doug's story in a delicate and emotionally considerate manner with a lot of empathy. I think some readers will be able to relate to their troubles and their heartache.

If you enjoy hot emotional romances, you will love Doubt by KA Hobbs. I cannot wait to read more about Sophie and Doug in Assured book #2.
