Rate this book
Three daughters. One formidable legacy. A death that doesn't add up.

Kate, Jenny, and Mandy Lockwood scattered like seeds in the wind to escape their father's iron grip. All except Kate, who remained to face Langston's tyranny alone.

When Langston Lockwood is found dead—a supposed suicide—his daughters are summoned back to the vast Rocking L Ranch. Their his land, his fortune, and secrets buried deeper than his grave.

As the sisters reunite on familiar soil, they discover disturbing inconsistencies surrounding their father's death. What first appeared to be a final, desperate act begins to look more sinister with each revelation. Someone wanted Langston Lockwood dead, and the truth lies hidden somewhere on the sprawling ranch they once called home.

Meet the women of the Rocking L and the men who stand beside them as they unravel the web of lies surrounding their family name. From the ashes of their painful past, the Lockwood sisters will uncover the strength to reclaim their birthright and forge a dynasty more powerful than their father ever imagined.

Some legacies are written in blood. Some truths are worth killing for.

I loved this book. The closeness of these sisters in spite of their nasty father is remarkable. Finding the Aztek gold and the secrets it holds is the premise of this book. But it is much more. I love the banter between the girls. Can't wait to start the next book. The last page is an indication that the girls are in for a shocking surprise.
