Seven years ago, I let Alana slip through my fingers.
Now she’s back, standing in my office, daring to look me in the eye like we’re strangers.
Like we don’t have unfinished business. She wants a deal. A contract. A clean slate.
But I don’t do clean slates. I don’t forgive.
And I sure as hell don’t forget. She thinks she can play it cool.
That I won’t notice the way she still trembles when I get too close. She’s wrong. I’m done waiting.
This time, she’s not walking away.
Because I’m not just here to win back the deal— I’m here to take back what’s mine.

Let’s Try Again brings us a mature second-chance romance set against the cutthroat backdrop of tech startups, corporate sabotage, and boardroom power plays. It’s a love story laced with ambition, resentment, lingering desire—and a whole lot of unresolved tension.
Seven years ago, Mason let Alana walk away. Now she’s back in town, pitching a business deal like they never shared a history. But Mason never forgot. And from the moment she steps into his office, it’s clear neither of them has truly moved on. What follows is a battle of wills, old wounds, and red-hot chemistry that’s impossible to ignore.
💼 What I enjoyed:
The dynamic between Mason and Alana is mature and grounded—they’ve both grown in the time apart, and it shows.
Their past feels real, and those small moments that nod to their history? Chef’s kiss.
The slow-burn intensity, both professionally and romantically, gave the story some satisfying tension.
I liked how the romantic arc was blended with a light corporate mystery—just enough intrigue to keep things fresh.
🔥 Spice level: There’s steam, yes, but it’s balanced. The boardroom and the bedroom get their share of heat, but it’s all wrapped in emotional nuance.
🧠 What could be stronger:
The pacing was a bit uneven. The beginning felt slower, while the tech-world drama picked up quickly toward the end.
At times, the romance took a back seat to the corporate maneuvering. I didn’t mind it, but I wanted just a little more heart to balance the high-stakes business energy.
I would’ve liked more emotional payoff between Alana and Mason as they worked through their past—it was there, but I wanted it to go deeper.

This book was an amazing read! First of all, I love a second chance at love story. But this story had a little something extra that made it a real pleasure to read. That was Alana's business of helping women become competing forces in the tech industry. I loved how she brave she was when she left Hartford to pursue her dream even though it meant losing Mason in the process.
The way the book talks about how she grew her business from the ground up in London to becoming a household name in the industry was so uplifting. The book just got better when she reconnected with Mason, the love of her life. I was very impressed with how Mason wanted his company, Frost Tech, to join forces with Alana's firm to begin making a change in the tech industry that coaligned with Alana's business mission.
Mason also knew that they belonged together and he was going to get her back any way he could. But of course, there's always a thirsty guy and girl trying to step on Loves neck. Smh. But karma is always on the job, ready to dish out justice when needed. Mason and Alana had their ups and downs with a little bit of drama. But the end was sweeter than cherry pie. This was a couple that deserved their HEA. This book is a definite must-read imo.
Overall a good read, this second chance love story has more themes of corporate espionage and jealous backbiting than romance. Mason and Alana separated because they each had goals to accomplish. Seven years later she is back in her hometown, ready to make waves. He has a couple of positions he'd like her to fill - corporate partner and undercover lover. Not as punishment, but because he never got over her. When a scandal breaks out, targeting both of their companies, it will take strong backbones to stand up against the blows to their reputations and their hearts.
Heated moments in the board- and bedroom and a light mystery gathered into one enjoyable package.

This is a cute story of second chance love. Alana and Mason are able to reconnect and pick back up, even after being a part for so long. The chemistry is real between them. However, there is some predictable details about the story but the amount of time they were a part is confusing. You see two different answers but at minimum, it was 5 years. I did like that the story is cohesive and appears as one writer instead of the two authors that wrote it. This means they have chemistry and connection while writing this story and their creativity flew effortlessly.
Aliana and Mason were once a power couple until life sent them in opposite directions. Now she is back state side and is looking to make a stake hold in AI technology. She connects with her first love and the sparks are still in place. Will Mason and Aliana get their chance to rekindle the love they once shared to finally get their chance for happiness.

I enjoyed the characters and their story. I was good until a trial didn't happen and for me, the error in the first paragraph of chapter 29 through the end. It's a quick read that I really did enjoy, otherwise.
it was good, a little confusing, the edit was messed up, they were separed for 7 years and than it changes to 5, and a few others small but well there it is, the story itself was great, the fight to bring women into the tech world is a real thing, l really liked it
