Rate this book
The fruit of a Spirit-filled life is a gift from God, but it doesn't grow by chance. It must be nurtured, tended, and lived out daily. In Finding Everyday Fruit, Tara L. Banks invites you to discover how the fruit of the Spirit can flourish in your life, showing how the simplest moments can draw you closer to Jesus. Through rich storytelling, scriptural insights, and Hawaiian imagery, Tara brings the nine fruits of the Spirit to life. ( You might even learn a few Hawaiian words along the way!)

Finding Everyday Fruit will help you

Experience the fruit of the Spirit in action through retellings of well-known Bible stories. Recognize the fruit of the Spirit in both ordinary and unexpected places and learn how that fruit can be developed. Apply practical insights to cultivate your spiritual growth and deepen your relationship with the Lord.

Whether it's finding joy in the fleeting beauty of a hibiscus or discovering how its colors can point to the Creator, this book will help open your eyes to the fruit of the Spirit in the world around you. You'll also gain a fresh perspective on how Jesus perfectly embodied these characteristics and how we, as His followers, can strive to do the same.

After writing in secret for 15 years, Tara L. Banks felt prompted to develop her work into a book. The very next day, she accidentally lost every word she’d ever written. Refusing to give up, she realized that God was guiding her to write about the lessons she needed to learn through moments like that one. From that experience, her debut book, Waiting On Wonders, was born. Her second book, Finding Everyday Fruit, followed two years later and focuses on discovering and developing a life formed by the fruit of the Spirit.

When she’s not writing, Tara can be found sharing her experiences through speaking and coaching worship teams, having served for over 20 years as a Worship Pastor at Seacoast Church in Charleston, South Carolina. She’s married to her college sweetheart, Greg, and they have two sons-of-thunder, Ethan and Brody, plus a daughter-in-love, Lydia. When she’s not tinkering with her ‘73 CJ-5 Jeep or dreaming of Hawaii, you will likely find her waiting on wonders and searching for the fruit of the Spirit in everyday life.

From our Worship Pastor at Seacoast Church comes a delightful book beautifully illustrated on the fruit of the Spirit. She deftly mixes in well-known Bible stories with personal illustrations and applications to inspire the reader to recognize the fruit of the Spirit and how we might apply it in our everyday lives. I thought it was very effective to introduce each fruit with a Hawaiian flower and a color of choice. She brings it all together in the conclusion with the image of a bouquet of these flowers that represents what the life of a Spirit-filled believer in Jesus can look like. And as an added bonus you learn a little bit about the Hawaiian language and the meaning of the Hawaiian greeting "Aloha."

There are certain people who, when they talk, you REALLY listen. Tara Banks is one of those people. She is such an ideal person to have written a book unpacking the fruits of the spirit!

The tone of this book exhibits the gentleness, kindness, joy, love and all the other fruits in a smooth, easy way - you can almost smell the fruits/flowers.

If you want to be reminded of how we can learn to live more like Christ in a relatable way as well as learn to stop and “smell the roses” of what God is doing all around us, I recommend reading this book. Take your time with it. Let it soak in. I’m grateful that Tara took the time to share this with us!
