Stranded: A Resurrection Story

Rate this book
Outpost 47... once the most thriving trade city in the galaxy.

Acting on a recommendation from a former business associate, Saltair and Krenik travel to the Iguazu System. The deal promises to be one of their most lucrative yet. But upon their arrival, they find Outpost 47 completely deserted.

Despite Krenik's reluctance, the pair land their ship on the moon's surface and begin exploring. There are no signs of struggle or death, and no bodies lie anywhere.

However, it soon becomes apparent that this abandoned outpost is not as abandoned as Saltair and Krenik were led to believe.

Something took these people... and now it has new prey.

'Stranded' is the second of 'The Resurrection Stories' following the misadventures of Saltair & Krenik in entirely stand alone adventures, where the pair continuously wonder why they have not yet taken early retirement.

Please note, you do not have to have read any of the books from The Dark Corner Series to follow these stories.

This is a fast-paced short story following a bumbling pair through space. What's not to like?!

The characters are a spin off from David W. Adams Resurrection/Dark Corner series, but you don't need to have read any of them to enjoy this. If you have read Adams' work, you'll be happy for the extra story. If you haven't, it's an easy introduction to his writing style.

The narrator does a brilliant job voicing the characters, adding an extra layer to an amusing tale, making 40 minutes whizz by.

Short stories by David W Adams are always a joy. There is a delicious skill in crafting an entire plot, characters and back story within such a tiny space, and one David has mastered. Here we see the second of three shorts staring Saltair and Krenik, two aliens from the Resurrection series. A true double act, like Laurel and Hardy if one was an engineer (Krenik) and the other a grifter (Saltair). Here we see them go for an easy score to discover it is anything but. If you're after a cookbook to make air-frying more straightforward, this isn't the book for you, but if you're a fan of the Resurrection seriesor want a quick and fun read, you'll love this.
