💙💙💙💙💙. Filled with brave, beautiful writing, art , photos and raw emotions made this one of the best reading experiences ever. I was feeling all the emotions along with Justin. As a devoted fan for the past 22 years since I was 18, I love all the music, lyrics and creativity that makes Blue October! Justin’s life although dark at times shows how brave and resilient he truly is. I’ve lost count of all the Blue October songs that have helped me through out my life & continue to help me in so many ways. Thank you Justin for giving us a glimpse of your life and for making me feel like I am not alone. ❤️‍🩹

Not too many artists give a full explanation of their songs as they want you to interpret them the way you want. Justin is honest about his mistakes and terrible acts that he did while he was using and that takes an incredibly strong person. It definitely had tear jerking moments and had I not had the opportunity to see his “open book tour” recently I would have been more surprised and saddened to read the stories. Highly recommended.
Post script… being from central Illinois and having my first tattoo done by Tim Beck, it was so awesome to see his art featured in this book!

Absolutely love this book. It is an honest look into Justin Furstenfeld’s (lead singer of Blue October) life. It captures the meaning behind the songs he wrote and how they relate to his life. There are nuggets of wisdom that can be taken away, based on what he learned through mistakes and growth.

If I could give 10stars I would. Fantastic look into the why behind great songs. I'm sad I finished it. It was great to take the journey, and listen to each song and then Read what was behind all the lyrics. If you are a fan of blue October you should read, and if you're not you should be!!!
