अकरा कथांचा संग्रह. कथा जरी अकराच असल्या तरी व. पु. काळे ह्यांच्या चुरचुरीत लेखनाची खुमारीच ही आहे की आजूबाजूचे सारे विश्व ह्या ना त्या प्रकारे त्यात टिपले गेलेले असते. वपु नेमकेपणा टिपणारे छायाचित्रकारही होते. तोच गुण त्यांच्या लेखणीतही उतरला आहे म्हणूनच 'गॅरण्टी’, 'बघतात तुला, पण...’, 'आणि तसं झालं तर...’ सारख्या ह्या संग्रहातील कथा 'असंही असू शकतं’, 'हे असंच आहे’ असे वाटायला लावणार्‍या आहेत. हे सारे वपुंच्या शैलीत वाचणे हा एक वेगळा आनंद आहे. वपु केवळ मिस्कील लेखक नाहीत तर विचार करायला लावणारे मिस्कील लेखक होते ह्याची प्रचिती यावी असा हा मनाच्या रंगाची उधळण करणारा कथासंग्रह.

A book full of stories showing sad realities of life, society, family and friends. Written about 3 decades back but the reality still applies. Every story is thought provoking, makes you wonder is it sadness only true partner! Writing style of VaPu as always is great- you just can't not empathize with charecters. Can't say everyone will enjoy it, but still a good read!!
