Traps are meant to be deadly... will someone die in this one?
The pieces of FBI Special Agent Autumn Trent’s life are finally coming together. Her relationship with SSA Aiden Parrish is on solid footing, and she’s finally filed suit against her prior boss for sexual harassment and assault. The only thing missing is her sister, the little girl who has haunted Autumn for so long.
The siblings were forced apart in elementary school, but Autumn has never given up trying to find her. Never did she dream she’d discover her like this. Not only has Autumn’s long-lost sister surfaced in Florida, but she’s the primary suspect in a string of murders. Certain this may be her last chance to find her, Autumn rushes south, only to find that she’s vanished again. But Sarah didn’t flee. She’s the bait in an elaborate trap, and Autumn is the prey.
With her sister in danger, Autumn puts her trust in the one man who can destroy her... and the entire team. Autumn’s Trap, the ninth book in Mary Stone’s Autumn Trent Series, is an exhilarating roller-coaster ride of a thriller right to the shocking finish.
Nestled in the tranquil Blue Ridge Mountains of East Tennessee, Mary Stone has transformed her peaceful home, once bustling with her sons, into a creative haven. As her family grew, so did her writing career, evolving from childhood fears to a deep understanding of real-life villains. Her stories, centered around strong, unconventional heroines, weave themes of courage and intrigue.
Mary's journey from a solitary writer to establishing her own publishing house marks a significant evolution, showcasing her commitment to the literary world. Through her writing and publishing endeavors, she continues to captivate and inspire, honoring her lifelong fascination with the mysterious and the courageous.
This 9th book in the Autumn Trent series continued to new heights. The foreboding continues to build as shady character's are introduced and it's discovered that the infamous Justin Black is back and evil as ever. He has set a huge web to capture both his sister, Winter, and her best friend, Autumn. Meanwhile, Autumn's sister Sarah is snared in the web and used as bate for her sister and her team. As FBI team member Chris pretends to help Autumn find her sister, he is really setting her up to take a fall due to his bitterness over her "easy assent onto the FBI team". Who ends up paying the price? Who dies in the process? Does Winter finally let go of Justin for good? As always, Mary tells an amazing story with interesting characters and lots of plot twists. With multiple side stories being developed at the same time, you can hardly wait for the next instalment. 5 out of 5 stars. I received an ARC of this book. All opinions are completely my own.
I adore these books, and this book being the climax was no exception. However I did find myself a bit disappointed by a fairly obvious continuity error. Aiden, in the previous Winter Black series, was always well aware of Winter's visions and had been long before the series even began. However in this book, it was something he wasn't at all aware of, which I did find frustrating.

Autumn’s Trap takes you on a ride of a life time. Join Autumn, Chris, Miguel and Mia as they search for her sister, Sarah, in Tallahassee, Florida. Sarah has been accused of killing five men and Autumn is determined to find her and find out the truth. Agent Chris Parker appears to have changed his attitude and ways. Has he really changed?
Through Emma Last’s special ability, she talks to Miguel who gives her urgent information that will help find Autumn, Sarah and Chris. Miguel also gives a warning about Chris. Emma calls Aiden telling him what Miguel had told her; however, she said it came to her in a dream.
Winter’s brother, Justin Black, is determined to take out all the agents. Adam Latham is just as determined to get his way with Autumn.
Winter, Noah, Aiden and the other agents rush to save Autumn, Sarah and Chris. Emotions are all over the place. I could feel the hate from Adam and Justin. They are both psychos who deserves whatever happens to them. I felt for Mia and Chris especially with what happens.
Life changes for all those involved and the Richmond BAU will never be the same.
Autumn’s Trap is the best of the Autumn Trent books yet. I am looking forward to the next book.

Autumn’s Trap, the ninth book in Mary Stone’s Autumn Trent Series, is an exhilarating roller-coaster ride of a thriller right to the shocking finish.
AUTUMN'S TRAP (Autumn Trent Series: Book Nine), Mary is the ninth installment in the Autumn Trent Series by Mary Stone. Her readers are never dissapointed in receiving a fast-paced, page turning, and chilling thriller. I can't recommend Mary Stone's writing enough, every one of her stories and series just keep getting better and better. Yes there is the proverbial cliff hanger that leads into the next installment, but you know the next one will be even better.
Agent Chris Parker's resentment of Autumn's quick rise in the BAU is still as hot as ever. He'd give anything to see her fail an assignment, but would he forfeit his life? Autumn would do anything to save Sarah. Does this include forfeiting her life or friends to do this?
Each book in this series can be read as stand-alone, but so much better read as a series. Get ready for twists, turns, and side plots that keep your interest and the pages turning.
I did received an advance copy of Autumn's Trap from the author and this is my freely given and honest review.
Autumn’s Trap left me breathless! Mary Stone must have the brain of a computer to keep all of these storylines organized and running so smoothly. This entry in the series led to a trap for more than Autumn, and the consequences will be felt for many books to come. I am surprisingly saddened by the exit of one character, whose story ended up being far more complex than it originally seemed. I felt Mary Stone wrote him brilliantly as I originally hated him, but found myself beginning to root for his transformation in these last two books as there were glimmers of hope for a real relationship with the team. The close of the storyline for Autumn’s nemesis was extremely satisfying. I absolutely loved Winter’s last visit with her brother; it was absolutely perfect. Changes are coming for the BAU team with established team members moving away, new team members coming in, and plenty of bad guys already on the horizon.
This was an intense, complex, and intriguing story that will change everything for the members of the FBI. Deaths, secrets, lies, betrayals, and lost siblings are certainly the topics that none of them want to deal with, but unfortunately the plan has been already set in motion. Will any of them make it out of this final battle, or will unforeseen gifts prevent what could have been? It's definitely not a story to miss! I would highly recommend that you read the Winter Black and Autumn Trent series from the beginning prior to starting this book. There are quite a few books in both series, but it will give you a better understanding of the characters, their backgrounds, connections, and the dynamics leading up to this story. They're all absolutely fantastic thrillers, and you certainly won't be disappointed. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Oh My, I even cried... If a book can make me laugh and or make me cry, that is a book I want to know who the Author is and I want to follow the Author. Mystery, Intrigue, Tears and love all wrapped up in the pages of all of Mary Stone's series. Autumn is being lured into a trap by a mysterious man who takes his anger at her out on her little sister she has been searching for since she was a child. The trap is more than for Autumn, two other agents are being targeted too. It all plays out as each one is trapped and you hope they will make it out alive. This book pulled at my emotions and I realized how involved I have become in their lives. Mary Stone, you make these characters real and alive. Thank you for writing such living books.
Love Mary Stone books! The trap was set for SA Autumn Trent and ultimately SA Winter Black. This whole scenario has been created by Winter’s psychopathic brother, Justin Black. Helping him with his plan is another psychopath, Adam Latham. He hates Autumn for exposing him for the creep that he is. He really wants to punish her. Lastly there is SA Chris Parker whose jealousy of Autumn has made him very dangerous. Justin is planning on Winter coming to rescue Autumn. Then he plans to kill her. Mary Stone has created a riveting and terrifying read. Many twists and turns and lots of surprises at the end. Always nice to have SA Emma Last and SA Keaton Holland join this remarkable cast.
I think this may be the best yet of the series. I was totally mesmerized by the story. There’s So much action, suspense, drama, twists, turns and surprises that I did not see coming! It is So exciting. I was surprised to see the end of one character, in particular, and happy to see the end of another. Autumn was not one of my favorite characters when she was first introduced, but that quickly changed. I’ve looked forward to each addition to this series. This is a series not to be overlooked. *this honest review is based on a complimentary copy from the author*. Thank you, Mary!
Wow’ Wow! Wow! This is the best one yet. Autumn and Winter together trying to find Autumn’s sister Sarah after she is accused of murdering 5 johns in Tallahassee. They join forces with the rest of the BAU to battle their nemeses, Justin Black and Adam Latham. The team of bad guys wants to eliminate the whole crew and is trying to bring them all together but, separately do them in. The bait is Autumn’s sister. What a vicious man is Adam Latham! Sarah is tortured to the brink of death. Chris is trapped by Justin and chained just feet away from Sarah. The whole team shows up and does what they do best. This is one for the record books. Great job Mary.
This is an ARC read and a great continuation of the series. FBI Agent Autumn Trent is finally getting her life on an even keel. The only thing missing is her sister, who she last saw when they were children. Now Autumn has a lead to her sister but its not good. So the FBI BAU team heads to Florida. But things aren't what they seem. Justin Black seems to be on the move, also. Can the team handle everything coming their way and will they all survive? Sit back and enjoy the ride with lots of twists and turns.
Autumn's Trap the ninth book in the Autumn Trent series by Mary Stone, is a must read for all mystery aficionados. If you have read the prior eight books in the series and without giving away the plot you are in for a Surprise! Surprise! Surprise. The characters are well defined and the storyline is definitely a page turner and will keep you on the edge of you chair. Autumn Trap is without a doubt worthy of a five-star rating. I am looking forward to the next installment in the series.
This was action from beginning to end! I'm pretty sure it was the best one yet!! So much happened, so much unexpected as well as expected. If I could rate this 10 stars I would!!! My heart was beating so fast throughout this book in anticipation of what was going to happen next. I'm so glad it ended the way it did. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens next with the team, Winter and Noah as well as the newcomers, what will their stories be like!! I just know exciting stuff is on the way!!!
One of the best yet. Simply couldn’t put down. I am so glad Autumn and Sarah are happy together, and foresee a new series with Emma Last??.. So much more openings for more books opening new options. We will all want to follow up. On winter and Noah. On Autumn and Aiden. Really reading these books, makes my heart go out to folks that have to work the street,or live on the street. I have to thank god every day that I lived in a small town, found a good man.
I love all your books and really hope to see more.
Love, betrayal and evil are all leveled out. Autumn is reunited with Sarah after 20 years and Winter captures Justin who had a speedy trial and is in subterranean seclusion at a Super max prison. Everyone is healing. Mia can forgive Aiden and Autumn's part in Chris's death but will probably transfer, maybe to DC with Emma. Winter and Noah are married and will probably move to Texas. Everyone's sad about Miguel s death but since Emma can see and talk to the dead maybe things will be ok. Love this storyteller.
Wowza. Just. Holy. Wowza! Talk about a thrilling roller coaster ride of intense emotions and jam packed action, this book has it all!! Some surprising happenings to a few of our favorite (and the love to hate) characters and new beginnings for others. I actually had to stop reading and get my heart rate back down before I could think about sleeping! You do not want to miss out on this book, I guarantee it.
I admit, I'd hoped for things to go differently for this group -- that they could've had their own series rather than be moving parts in Autumn's world, as the main character has grown, quite frankly, boring. This book was more about the others and was much better when they were the focus.
I just hope we continue to see what becomes of Winter and that now we get a series about Emma Last!
Autumn's Trap (Autumn Trent FBI Mystery Series Book 9) by Mary Stone is a fantastically amazing story that I have loved reading. This is book number nine in this fantastically amazing series that I have been so hooked on since the beginning. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading mysteries.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
I didn’t see the storyline going that way, but I loved reading every page of it! Many of the side storyline were completed in this book, but the series is now over! I can’t wait to see how the unit doing and jumping into the spin off with Winter. Fingers crossed with more about Emma as well. The paranormal angle is intriguing and I want to learn more about the ghosts and their warnings. Overall a fast paced story and great addition to an action packed series.
Autumn’s Trap doesn’t disappoint, it was the climax I had been waiting for since book one.
It is a fast paced, sit on the edge of your seat read. I couldn’t put it down and it was satisfying.
Changes are on the horizon and I can’t wait to read the further adventures of Autumn. I also hope that there will also be further adventures for Winter that we can read about.
Bravo for a well written conclusion to a story line that has kept me enthralled from the first chapter of the first book.
You will FLY through this one! Everything thing escalates to a finale that is difficult to believe! The BAU will be different. But wait, a new villain may have been introduced as Nobody. What lies ahead for these friends? Things may be too good to be true. Must read the next installment to find out if peace and happiness continues or everyone is confronted by evil, once again.
Are wemdone with justin black because I've had enough of him and winter and autumn needs so happy and he is soooooo not a happy cant wait to read about winter and her being in Texas I have read alot of Mary stone she is one of my favorite authors I have several book series that I'm reading and I have to wait for the next book so I went back and found some of Mary stone older book series and started on the so I dont have to wait on the next book
I’m really annoyed. To quote Justin You all need to go back to Quantico. And then Winter knows what Justin wants and does what he wants and think that it will be different and get him off his stride. What a load of bollocks. For supposed trained Agents each one of them is soooooo stupid. You mean not one shares with the team? This book is Insulting to Federal Agents
Oh my gosh. This book is riveting, happy, tragic, gripping, fascinating, has it all. A real page turner that you won't be able to put down until the end. All the characters we love & hate are back. I did not think this book could get any better then the previous but to my surprise it did. Does not disappoint. Cannot wait until the next book. I am an ARC member and this is my honest review.
ARC Reader !! Loved this book. Mary Stones books' just keep the plots coming on stronger each page. I read this book in one sitting as I could not put it down. The trap for Autumn and her friend Winter has been set. Will all her friends make it out of the trap or will some die?? You have to read this book as it is a GREAT story. Also, read the whole series.
Wow, just wow! An excellent read as always. This book is full of suspense, lots of twists and turns, and plenty of surprises to keep you interested until the end. Some of the characters are involved in unexpected endings and others experience new beginnings. You won’t be disappointed with this book. As always, I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
