Seshi belongs to the ocean, not to the human world. But that doesn’t stop her from leaving behind everything she knows.
Shocking her restrictive and dangerous family, she removes the necklace that allows her to change into a mermaid–the magical emblem of who and what she is.
After several years, Seshi decides to return to the family who assumes she is weak and foolish.
But Seshi is far from powerless. She has a secret only she knows. And when she returns, it will be for revenge.
I loved this story. It's mysterious, sometimes sad, and romantic as well. I enjoyed the setting and the characters and the story flowed so beautifully. It's the kind of book that sucks the readers in and keep them there until the very end. Seshi and Rajiv are both interesting and well-developed characters. The story is about legends and family secrets. It's about things that should stay a secret, but rarely do. All in all, it's a great read. Especially for those who enjoy a good fantasy romance. I loved all the little twists and I think that it ended perfectly.
i received a free ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review. it was such a beautiful book. the backdrop captured my attention since its very beginning, though its people threw me off. it took quite a while to get the full picture of the culture especially, but i was glad when romance was in the air. the slight complication was welcoming, adding thrills to the seemingly straightforward ending.
this was so interesting. i wasnt sure what exactly it was about but the cover was interesting and i was curious. i really am glad i read it because it was wonderful. i loved the story and t he characters.. well written
It’s always a wonderful feeling when the sequel to a book you enjoyed is even better than the first installment. That’s exactly how I feel about Time to Die, by author Jordan Elizabeth.
Seshi comes from an overbearing, controlling family that have completely shut themselves off to strangers. And for good reason: they carry a secret: they come from a long line of mermaids, capable of transforming at will so long as they wear their magical necklaces, given at birth. Unable to live her life the way she wants to, Seshi runs away, leaving her family and their archaic ways behind. But eventually, the call of family ties entices Seshi to return, and she suddenly finds herself in the middle of a feud that’s spanned millennia, starting at the origin of time.
The interesting thing about this book is that I was half-convinced it was a standalone until I was well into the book, and then the ties from the first book wove their way into the story.
This was an absolutely fantastic read. I recommend for fans of Urban Fantasy, Mermaids, and stories featuring strong independent heroines!
