Continuum: Inversion Series, Book 2

Rate this book
A sweeping and inspirational saga about a courageous woman who leads an audacious endeavor to create the greatest society in history with the help of a mystic philanthropist and a sentient AI.

Inversion, Book 2: As Angela continues her remarkable journey away from her previous grounding as a warrior for justice, the role of politician lacks the immediacy of using a gun, knife, or her body for weapons.

A glimpse into Voktor’s worldview shows her what real power is and how the master plays the board.

What could be more powerful than the detonation of a stolen nuclear weapon?

Would it be enough to ensure the survival of a new nation?

Would Angela be able to lead and inspire?

In the modern arena where political entities assert themselves, the powerful assume they have dominance over the weak.

Certainty in these matters is a concept believed only by fools.

The first thing I realized was that the books in the Inversion trilogy are not stand alone, so they must be read in order to make any sense. Characters and events in Inversion 1 would appear or be referenced in Inversion 2, and I expect, Inversion 3. This is truly one large, and deeply imagined world...which I loved immersing myself in.

I like fiction that is grounded in reality. This one is. Political and technological topics are right now or near future when it comes to AI integration in all aspects of our lives. The characters live with deep physical and psychological wounds which they try to live with and overcome. By their example, this sends a message of hope. And hope is really what this series is about. Living life in a loving and compassionate way, even in the face of extreme horror...which sits comfortably next to unimaginable beauty. Such is our world. Next up, Inversion 3.

I’ll say right off that Inversion 1 hooked me on the story and the lead character, Angela Ana. Inversion 2 – Continuum did not disappoint. Picking up the timeline on the next beat, the sweep of the story expanded in totally unexpected ways. Angela, who is the empathetic center of this universe, did not lose her charm. In fact, we get a deeper dive into her persona now that she is…I won’t give it away. I love this woman in how she can be resourceful, vulnerable, coy, sometimes lost, calculating, and lethally, cold bloodily terrifying. The powerful conclusion of Inversion 2 opens the possibility of yet another huge advance to the story. I hope that Krozer is hard at work on Inversion 3.
