When Cora’s curiosity causes her to chase down the mysterious noise in her Floating City (Rig), she is swept into a world she doesn’t believe exists. Can Bardsong redeem himself for kidnapping her? This captivating tale is set 100 years after the polar ice caps have melted, everyone lives on rigs, and the mainland is no longer livable, or is it?

I have been a bookworm and storyteller since I was a kid. Somewhere along the way, I decided to start writing my adventure tales down. I write adventures stories to ask the “what if” questions, to write solid Christian books for middle grade and YA readers, and to find myself in fantastical locations in my mind. Thanks for coming along with me!

I will return to write a full review, but this book made me sad because there was so much potential I wanted to see but unfortunately, I did not.

2 stars.
I expected more from this book. I mean, I barely saw any of the dystopian world, the characters annoy me, and the "romance" is just...aargh!!!
Cora cries like, every two pages, and it's soooo annoying. I know I probably would be just as upset as she is, but seriously! She's worse than Bella (Twilight).
Bardsong's okay... I still don't understand why he kidnapped her, besides the fact that she's soooo pretty. Bardsong was definitely not the worst character in the book, but I can't really connect with him. That might just be me tho…
Rands was...he was obviously a jerk to the Cora, but somehow, I don't hate him for it. Maybe I just hate Cora that much...
Balyntine...he's okay. I don't hate him--I probably like him more than Bards--but I don't love him.
Blaise is probably what made this a 2-star review rather than a 1-star review. He's just so cute and sweet!
There are other characters, but I'm going to move on.

The Romance:
I just... I can't even...
How is this romance, or even YA? I understand that it's a dystopian culture, and maybe the romance is different, but seriously!!! I actually want to throw this book through a window because of it. (but I'm not going to...) There isn't any chemistry going on between characters, and then just because someone had a dream, it's like, "Oh, looks like you and I have to get married...EVEN THOUGH WE DON'T EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER!"
The writing is just...ugh. So many grammatical errors, punctuation errors, and "you are"s instead of "you're"s. It's not even interesting to read.

I don't have any more to add though, so I'm going to end it here. And I'm not trying to be negative--Kasper DOES have potential; I can actually see her improving throughout the book. But this book isn't for me. Regardless, I would like to see Kasper improve even further, so if she does write another "YA" book, I will read it.
