Rate this book
I have one goal—arrest billionaire businessman Kavner Fury.

I’m dedicated to my job as a Treasury agent, and taking down crooked financial criminals. Just like the one who destroyed my family.

Kavner Fury is wealthy, powerful, and ambitious, a combination I know too well. He’s New Orleans’ favorite billionaire. Sure, he’s also handsome, charming, with a hard body no man who sits behind a desk should have, but I have no plans to let that distract me.

He’s my enemy, my nemesis…and pure temptation. I won’t let our scorching attraction derail my investigation. But as my money laundering case leads me into dangerous territory, I find myself under attack.

Injured and betrayed, I’m shocked that there is only one man I can turn to. One man who can keep me safe.

Now I’m working with Kavner, side by side, and I uncover a protective man who’s taking a blow-torch to my icy defenses. I get to see the real man beneath the gorgeous exterior, and I’m having trouble keeping my hands off him.

Suddenly, the only man I trust is my enemy, and we’re both caught up in a fiery attraction that could leave us both burned.

Ehhhh, this didn't work for me. The insta-love and body-betraying syndrome weren't a good combination.

I had high hopes for London to be a strong-willed character, but nah, her hormones always get the best of her. There's nothing fun about reading a character like this. She wouldn't stop admiring Kav's physical attributes or reminding her that it's a bad decision to cross a line with him, only for her to contradict her own idea every damn time. It was annoying that she'd give in and then regret why she did it in the first place. And this happens on numerous occasions. So yeah, I got tired of her eventually.

As for Kavner, I felt like he only decided to pursue London because he saw her as a challenge. Someone who didn't automatically fall to his feet. I still don't get the obsession part, but it is what it is.

Also, the constant reminders of his lifestyle aren't helping to make me like him. He kept repeating in the beginning that he likes variety when it comes to women. Or that London is different from all those women that he had in the past. I mean, it's impossible to avoid manwhores in books, but as a reader, I didn't want to know these things. I really, really don't. They don't add anything to the storyline, imo.

But I have to give credit to the fact that he's protective of London and that he did step up to ensure her safety all the time. He's dependable and loyal to those he cares about.

As for the suspense, I already figured out at the very beginning who's responsible for leaking confidential information. It was kind of anticlimactic how it got resolved. I was waiting for more. More violence? Punishment? I'm not sure anymore.

Overall, this didn't work. But I hope other readers will appreciate this more than I did.

Determined Treasury agent London Coleman is trying to get to the bottom of an art money laundering scheme and relentlessly thinks she's found her suspect in Kavner Fury, New Orleans’ favorite billionaire businessman.

Hm, this one didn't really work for me. I think London rubbed me the wrong way right from the very beginning; she was so relentlessly determined to prove Kav was guilty of something even though all evidence pointed otherwise. And she still kept doubting for a very, very long time, even when they started to get physical with each other. It just felt like she was targeting him, mixing her personal feelings and past hurt with her current actions that weren't deservedly pointed at Kav. I think after this, even with a decent story to follow, I just personally couldn't find myself connecting. It wasn't BAD by any means. Still good overall quality writing and action, I think just the main characters and their dynamic was the miss for me.

My least fave in the series, but I will definitely be continuing.

London is a career driven agent determined to crack the money laundering that seems to be centred around art and antiquities in New Orleans . She’s convinced that Kavner Fury is involved but he constantly denies it and what’s worse is the gorgeous man just won’t stop flirting with her ! When London is attacked it’s Kavner who comes to her rescue and pretty soon even London can see he’s a good guy although he clearly wants to do bad things with her !
This was a little different to the author’s usual style and each chapter switched between the two viewpoints of London and Kavner which was a fun way to open up their feelings about everything. I really liked that London was such a hard working agent but sadly for me the ending left me wanting more about those behind the actual crimes taking place . This is a very fast paced romance with lots of steam but best of all there’s delicious humour from the rest of the Fury gang and they always make me smile when together .
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I have to admit I liked the third brother (Kavnar Fury) the best!
All in all, both Hero and the Heroine were greatly and palpably portrayed...as humanly relatable as possible.
Action is ever present and detailed in performance...

What more to say than, I really can't wait for the next brother's book!

Burn is the thrilling third installment in Anna Hackett's Fury Brothers series, a captivating blend of romantic suspense and adventure. The story revolves around a tight-knit group of alpha males who have forged a brotherhood from humble beginnings.

These fiercely loyal men are not just committed to building their own lives but are also dedicated to loving and respecting the women who capture their hearts. Each of them is caught off guard when they find their soulmate, a discovery that brings unexpected joy and challenges.

When one of their own faces a dangerous threat, the entire group rallies together, exhibiting their unbreakable bond as they confront and dismantle the menacing forces against them. The narrative is rich with exhilarating action sequences, sizzling chemistry between characters, intense tension, and a gripping plot full of intrigue, drama, and peril.

Though some elements of the storyline might feel familiar or predictable, I find myself completely engrossed in the experience of rereading this series, relishing each emotional twist and turn. series. series.

Narration: 4.5⭐️
Rating: 4.25⭐️
Spice: 1.5🌶

I listened to the audiobook with Tim Paige and Nicole Small in this dual narration. Nicole Small was new to me, and I enjoyed both the narrators in this dual narration.

Kavner Fury has built his empire to where it is today after coming from nothing. He still remembers the days he spent living on the streets, having no food, no way to get any clothes, and always having to sneak around to avoid being targeted. Moving to foster care was hell, but it was also the place he met his family, his brothers, whom he would do anything for. Which is the whole reason behind him being so driven to never end up in that situation again while also ensuring that his family is always secure.

Being a billionaire and one of the most influential figures in New Orleans meant most of the attention Kavner got was for his fame, money, or power. People who wanted to get into his inner circle for what they could gain from him. So watching London be absolutely unaffected by his status only intrigued him more. It sparked an interest in knowing the agent better, and he was totally up for any challenges she threw his way.

London doesn't want to be attracted to Kavner. She's hell-bent on finding dirt on him and arresting him for his ties to a money laundering case she's been working on. However, she can't help the pull she feels towards him. Her distrust and reservations stem from her own past and what went down with her father and how his decisions impacted her family. But the deeper she digs, the more she realizes that Kavner Fury truly is one of the good ones.

After being the one who had to take up the responsibility of her younger sister at an early age and later taking care of her mother during her final days, it meant London was used to constantly putting everyone else before her. Always worrying about others and neglecting herself in the process. Being with Kavner and having his full attention and care made her feel loved, appreciated, and cherished like she hadn't before. He never made her feel like she couldn't handle anything herself but wanted to lessen her burdens regardless.

I did like the romance and how it grew between London and Kavner. What starts off as curiosity and intrigue turns into more when London's life and career are under threat. The two work together to figure out who is behind the whole money laundering operation. While doing so, they slowly start opening up to each other about their lives. London, who was so used to doing everything by herself, finally had someone she could rely on.

Just like the rest of this series, it was a fast-paced book, and the mystery and action kept me hooked throughout. I finished this book in one sitting. I loved the turns the case took and how the plot slowly unfolded. I was invested the entire time and was also a little surprised by that reveal.

Again, the Fury brothers truly are something else. The love they have for each other is also clear and knows no bounds. They prove time and time again that they'd do anything for each other. The way they are slowly extending their families with the addition of these women is so sweet to witness. They all made London feel so comfortable and welcomed, which she hadn't expected.

I'm excited to read the next two books and see Reath and Beau get their HEAs.

London, loved this heroine. She's on the hunt for the person laundering money for the carter and Kavner Fury's name keeps on coming up. She 100% believes it's him, but then she gets to know the man behind the business man's exterior, the man who fiercely loves and protects his own. And when she finds her self betrayed by one of her co-workers, there is only one man she can trust.

Kav, this man 😍🔥

Growing up on the streets and then spending time in foster care...that life wasn't easy and when he met his brothers, they formed an unbreakable bond, and they left the horrible life they were living to make something of themselves...He vowed to make something of himself. Years later he is a well known business man, who now has to deal with a certain Treasury Agent, who is out to prove that his business dealings aren't legal, what he expected was the feelings he would have for her.

Dang, you guys!!! This series just keeps on getting better with each book! Kavner and London gosh, their chemistry was just so good, the spicy scenes 🔥🥵 and the development of their relationship from enemies to lovers... perfection!

...figured out early on who the mole in the task force was, but the pain that London had to go through when they attempted to silence her 💔

...the trust that developed between Kav and London! Amazing!!!

No one messes with Kavner Fury's woman!

I've followed Anna Hackett for a lot of years. I loved the Hell Squad series, the Galactic Gladiators series, and the spinoff from that, plus a number of her other small series.

But these "suspense" series just don't rock.

I get that romantic suspense is quite popular. And you have to move on to other subgenres as a writer for valid reasons. But you know what isn't popular? Limp stories with TSTL female leads and 2 dimensional male leads. Top that with a plot solved virtually in the first couple of chapters, and it's a cherry on the cake of No Big Deal.

AH is a great writer. She knows how to handle a large cast, how to plot, how to write sex, and how to create suspense. I can't figure out why she isn't doing most of that with her last couple of series, and now this one.

This story has an unlikable female lead with a one track mind who does half a dozen TSTL things right out of the gate. She's not very interesting and has almost no personality other than anger and later lust. I kept waiting for her to develop, but no luck. The male lead appeared some in the previous book, so he does have a backstory. But he's pretty flat.

There are numerous Trojan horses to try and throw the reader off the trail, but the bad guy is pretty apparent quickly. Secondary characters are really brief and are super stereotyped. The rough, demanding boss, the fawning guy coworker with a crush, the girl friend, the angry older female. There's no meat here, just a bunch of people from central romance casting.

I keep hoping to pick up the latest Anna Hackett book and be wowed, like when her early series came out. This isn't a wow or even a marginally good story.

And heads up. Based on character comments in the epilogue, it sounds like the nest book may feature a female lead who was described as STARTING college and needs a guy to keep an eye on her. Oh my God! So the next book might feature an 18 year old female lead? Count me out on that for sure.

Oh boy. Really not enjoying this series. So many plot holes in this one.

I didn’t enjoy this book at all. I’m really sorry as I love Anna Hackett, but this whole series isn’t up to her usual standard. There’s some quite big plot mistakes in this one. London is really annoying and Kavner is just there. I never clicked with either of them.

London is a treasury agent who is investigating money laundering. London is a very very bitter and angry woman. She sees all rich men like Kavner Fury as criminals, like the man that convinced her dad to commit fraud. For some bizarre reason that I can’t for the life of me understand, Kavner is obsessed with her. I DON’T GET IT! He actively pursues a woman who is trying her best to put him in prison. 🤔 As she’s investigating she makes some HUGE mistakes. Going to meet an anonymous informant on her own screams stupidity. There’s a reason that FBI agents have partners to back them up. She’s already been shot at once and she doesn’t take any steps to protect herself.

As the case progresses London realises that she was wrong about Kavner and of course they fall in love. London is in danger from the actual money launderers. There’s a couple of good parts, and some actual danger, but it’s over way too fast! The sex scenes are rubbish yet again, and I really didn’t feel any chemistry between them.

Sorry but it’s really not up to this authors normal standard. It’s only 210 pages long, and it dragged on and on.

These two were made for each other. I was so excited to read this book and I was not disappointed one bit.

I love these characters. I love their family dynamics and I love the women who are strong and brave and made for these men. I hate that I have to wait for the next one.

As usual, Mrs. Hackett wove a tale of intense and unpredictable action with a heavy dose of heat. Kav and London on opposite ends of a problem, or so London thinks, but come together when trouble comes knocking.
I’m not even a little surprised by how much I loved this story. It was easy to lose myself, flying through the pages, finishing well before I wanted to.

Letdown

I must say I was very disappointed in this story. From the sample from Colts story, Keep, I expected her to be a lot smarter. She never took back up with her whenever she got an anonymous tip. She was supposed to be a fierce and smart agent, but she was naive and a major letdown..I've always enjoyed the heroines in MS Hackett books because. Most of them are as bad ads as the heroes. I'm disappointed this one wasn't. I would r lolead it to keep up with the series.

Series: Fury Brothers #3
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

Treasury Agent London Coleman is determined to take down crooked financial criminals and her sights are currently set on businessman Kavner Fury. But when she is betrayed and injured, she finds Kavner is the only person she can turn to who will keep her safe.

London is a dedicated woman who is determined to bring criminals to justice. She has a very black and white personality and we see her struggle with the Fury brother’s more relaxed rule set. While I did like London, at first I wasn’t a huge fan because she was very judgmental of Kavner and assumed he was a criminal just because he was wealthy. She really struggles with trusting men because of what happened with her father and it clouds her judgment with Kavner at first. Once she got past that, I liked London and her dedication to bring down the criminals even when she was getting hurt.

Kavner is a wealthy, powerful, ambitious, and very protective man. He is attracted to London from the beginning and was determined to protect her from any harm that might come from her investigation. I liked Kavner a lot. He had a terrible childhood but he found his brothers and made a life for himself. He is now a successful businessman and he gives back to his community. He is a great guy and I liked getting to learn more about him and what pushed him to be so successful and protective.

Kavner and London’s relationship is fast paced and a bit of an instant love. For London, this is a bit of a hate to love story as well because she starts this investigation hating him and thinks he is a criminal. That changes very quickly though and these two fall for each other over a matter of days so this is a very fast paced, instant love relationship, but enjoyable all the same.

This story centered around London’s investigation in money laundering and there was a nice blend of action packed scenes and some low key romantic scenes. The investigation was interesting and worked well with the romance building between these two. While I did like that we see London find the mole in her department and start the process of closing her case, we don’t actually see her finish it which I felt was a bit disappointing for how career driven she is. I still enjoyed how it was wrapped up though.

Overall, this was another good Fury brother’s book. I enjoyed Kav and London’s story and look forward to the next one.

TW: gun violence; assault; kidnapping; death of a parent mentioned; abusive foster care situation mentioned, child homelessness mentioned;

Treasury Agent London Coleman investigates white collar crimes. She’s back in her hometown of New Orleans on the trail of someone laundering money for the cartels by buying expensive works of art with dirty money, shipping that art out of the U.S. to sell, and returning the ‘cleaned’ money to the cartel to do more of whatever terrible things they do with their money – which is mostly drugs.

London is happy to be back home, not just because she gets to spend time with her sister Lexxie, but because she honestly loves the city that made her who she is. Literally as London looks like the Creole descendant that she is, while the genetic gumbo that made her and Lexxie gave them completely different skin tones as well as looks.

As this third entry in the Fury Brothers series opens, the person of interest, both in her case and personally – even though she’s not ready to admit the second part even to herself – is billionaire businessman Kavner Fury.

His name has come up more than a few times in her investigation. She thinks it’s because he’s dirty and she hasn’t found the evidence yet. In reality, it’s because Kavner’s rich, he likes art, and he especially likes donating art to museums and galleries where kids just like the ones he and his brothers used to be have the opportunity to view beautiful things in just a little bit of peace and safety to help them hold on and survive until they can live their own dreams.

Just as he and his brothers did when they were all in the foster system and all too frequently at the mercy of neglectful, abusive or just plain violent caregivers.

London may not be willing to admit it, at least not yet, but keeping Kavner in her sights does put her in the places where whoever is hiding in the shadows is doing their dirty business. And he’s much too easy on the eyes, and too smooth in his business dealings, not to raise a few red flags.

That those red flags have more to do with her past than anything Kav has actually done is another secret that London is doing her damndest to keep to herself and out of her investigation. Something that proves utterly impossible when the cartel starts gunning for her, directly and literally – and Kav is the only one standing at her side and watching her back.

Escape Rating B+: Burn is a quick, hot read that is a whole lot of fun – for both parts of the category ‘romantic suspense’ into which this book and its series most definitely fit.

Like the first two books, Fury and Keep, this one is told in alternating first-person viewpoints, meaning that first we see inside London’s head and then we get Kavner’s take on what happens next.

Her head is a bit of a hot mess. The case has been long, drawn out, and utterly frustrating. The powers-that-be are hammering her boss hard. London has more than a bit of tunnel vision, seeing Kavner as a stand in for the fraudster who suckered her own father in and ruined the family’s life. She’s fixated on him being in this scheme up to his neck, when really it’s that she’s in the River DeNial up to hers.

Kavner isn’t worried about London’s investigation because he knows there’s nothing to find. He may hide the darker details of his origin story in the foster system before he and his brothers met, he may have taken on a much more polished veneer than he’d prefer because it’s good for business, but his money was legally earned, all his businesses are completely legit as well as profitable, and he really does give back a tremendous amount of money and effort to the city he loves.

And he has all the money he needs to get himself out of any ‘manufactured’ trouble. That’s what money and the lawyers it can buy are for, after all.

Which means that while London is focussing on Kavner as a suspect, Kav is keeping his sights on London as a woman – in ways that make him think, not just sexy thoughts, but also romantic and protective ones. The kind of thoughts he’s been avoiding all of his adult life, too busy being focused on buying and creating financial security for himself and his brothers, and their whole extended family.

What made this story work well for this reader is the way that London and Kav worked against some familiar tropes. He does not have a case of the ‘I’m not worthy’s’ that happen entirely too often. He’s just been too busy to think about settling down. London is definitely in distress, but she’s no damsel. She stands her ground and maintains her own boundaries even in the face of Kav’s protectiveness. She doesn’t get rescued by Kav and his brothers – she gets assistance in her own rescue.

There’s a whole lot of push-pull between these two workaholics and it’s fun – and filled with sexytimes – to see them work towards each other and their happy ever after. Often in spite of themselves. Making Burn the kind of read that will make any reader burn up the pages in one sitting.

There are two Fury Brothers left, Reath and Beau. Currently neither of them are even thinking about looking for an HEA of their own but that’s about to change. Their stories are coming in the fall, in Take (probably Reath’s story) and Claim. In the meantime, I have Knightqueen, the climactic final book in the author’s science fiction romance Oronis Knights series to look forward to. And I most definitely AM!

London knows that good-looking businessmen like Kavner Fury are trouble. She's sure he's into some bad things, and as a Treasury Agent, she's about to take him down. Or is it the other way around? Because once she realizes she has him all wrong, her heart is on the line.

Kavner grew up with nothing, had to fight to earn the vast empire he has now. He and his brothers by choice now live the good life, but he's missing something that doesn't become clear until a feisty Treasury Agent walks into his life determined to see him in the wrong light. All he wants is to keep her, but that's a tall order because London doesn't trust easily.

These Fury Brothers are so amazing when they fall. Kavner was gone the minute he laid eyes on London. She may have taken awhile longer to come around, but when she did finally come to the realization, so sweet! The action weaves seamlessly with the relationship, and by the time the ending came, I was so happy that another Fury Brother found love.

I quite enjoyed the first two books in the series, but this one was difficult to get through and find a connection. I kept thinking London seemed paired with the wrong brother. The first part was extremely slow and that may be because Kavner wasn't really fleshed out in the prior books. The reader never got an understanding of who he was except he liked to make money.

London came in like a bully on wheels. You didn't know if you liked her & she needed to let her guard slip or she was one who'd drown if it sprinkled because her nose was in the air that much. By the end of the book, she still wasn't as likeable as the other two heroines in the prior books, but you figured out it should be the former - needed to let her guard down. Because of this, it wasn't until the middle of the book that you could see them as a couple. They had a flash of chemistry & then it seemed to dissipate. The ending fight scene seemed a stretch given who Kavner was described as & London seemed to have skipped fight training. But the other brothers saved the day which made me wonder - do the keep scuba gear in the SUV? The ending scene made more sense of what we knew of Kavner and London, and it was a beautiful scene.

The overall book was a mishmash, so it got a three. At times good and other times, it didn't mesh with the characters. London was overall a strong female character but difficult to get a feel for. It may be because the writer switched to different series after the first two books and sometimes that can mess with the flow and the portrayal of the characters. Hopefully she re-reads the first two books and remembers the way they are & what makes them interesting. Then she can get the series back on track. Bringing all the family back together for lunch did help remind the reader, we do enjoy the Fury brothers & saved me from throwing my tablet.

Treasury Agent London Coleman is bound and determined to stop a money laundering scheme that she believes is spearheaded by self-made Billionaire Kavner Fury. He's intrigued and amused and lets her know there is nothing for her to find. When she attends one of his events to investigate him further they share a moment on the dance floor. Moments later she's ambushed outside the event and Kavner comes running to save her. He's furious on her behalf and determined to make sure she survives her investigation.

The more he reveals about his early life, the more her defenses dissipate. They each show vulnerability with one another. She comes into his life at a time when he is assessing the World around him and he feels a teeny bit lonely. When London is targeted, it brings out all his protective instincts. He's determined to stand by her side and she wants to let him.

I loved the character of London, she was loyal, strong and determined. I also loved how she took the reins when Kavner briefly hesitated to kiss her, she went in and got her kisses. Insta-lust is real thing, it's human and it's believable to me. When you trust your heart to someone and vice versa you are giving the person power over you and it's not always a bad thing.

This is the third book in the series and I enjoyed reading this story, (though it's not difficult to figure out the culprit) and getting to know Kavner's brothers (by circumstance). I look forward to reading Reath's Story, though I was hoping he'd be paired with London's sister Lexxie, it's clear, it will be his best friend's little sister.

Highly Recommended: Read It

London Coleman is a Treasury Agent whose job it is to tackle the financially corrupt, a job she loves and is passionate about, but unfortunately, due to her own experience with rich men (aka Daddy issues), she's massively biassed and goes after the wrong man, Kavner Fury. Unable to see how her prejudice is affecting her ability to do her job, she doesn't realise when her obsession with Kavner moves from being one that wants to prove he's corrupt to one that just wants him. She's even more shocked when she realises just how wrong she has been about who the good and bad guys are.
Kavner is a great character; despite everything that London is accusing him of, he's patient and calm with her and willing to show her he's not a bad guy. He recognises the hurt inside her and knows her actions and words aren't done through malice; he has his own past trauma and has worked hard to get where he is now, and by letting his vulnerabilities show, London lets her walls down too, making Kavner her safe place, something she's never had before. Kavner is extremely sweet, crazy possessive, but also so protective, and I loved that about him. He gave off real gooey cinnamon roll vibes, and despite being filthy rich, he was humble with it too, making it easy to see why he was so likeable.
Amongst the romance and passion, there were elements of danger as London's job catches up with her and she's put at risk several times; luckily, Kav is there to save the day, but it also gives a chance to explore the family dynamic between the Fury brothers as they step in to help too, showcasing their skills and the extent they will go to for one of their own, and she might not know it at the time, but London has been claimed; she's a part of the family now.

Kavner and London

This was a good, quick, fast-paced read. It was a little bit of an insta love with a side of we-should-hate-each-other. I liked how quickly London realized Kavner was not the average billionaire. I thought they had some hot chemistry and a shared understanding of what it was like to grow up poor.

Kavner was the billionaire Fury brother whose goal in life was to always have a roof over his head, a nice car, and an expensive suit. After living on the streets as a child, he never wanted to experience having nothing again. Like the other Fury brothers, he struggled to let people close, but when London showed up in New Orleans to investigate money laundering and his potential involvement, that changed.

Kavner became extremely protective of London, even before she admitted there was no evidence he had done anything criminal. London was a hard nut to crack for Kavner. She was just as independent and didn’t know how to let someone take care of her. Their relationship was one of give and take and they both had to compromise on their usual tactics to find a happy medium.

I loved the suspense and mystery. It kept me guessing about who the mole was up until they were revealed. I thought it was well dispersed with the romance and very well done.

Overall this was a great book. I really enjoyed Kavner’s character arc and London’s vulnerability. I love the aspect of the found family with the Fury brothers. Each one is unique in their baggage but they found a path to success together.

Sexy, intense Kavner Fury has a determined Treasury agent nipping at his heels and it's a good thing that man has nothing to hide because London is dogged. To be fair, Kav ticks all the profile boxes on the money laundering case she's wading through and what sort of agent would she be if she didn't follow up on all of them. Fortunately for London, Kav is a good sport about the accusations and he REALLY doesn't like the idea of someone moving money and goods through his town. So he decides to help London with her investigation.

As you might imagine, London doesn't love that. Until, you know, she realizes Kav and the other Fury brothers really are on the up and up and mayyyybe teaming up with him isn't the worst thing that could happen.

On Kav's end, he's intrigued by London. He likes her grit and determination and he's fascinated in a way he hasn't ever been. When London's life is threatened, he jumps in and does what any billionaire would do and offers his experience and support. Seeing as the Fury brothers always have each others backs, soon the whole Fury clan is involved.

A twisty investigation, art, steamy kisses, a man who has nothing to hide, and a lady who is formidable in her determination to get things done. MAN, I love these men and the ladies who capture their hearts.

Having survived a childhood plagued by lack, abuse and despair, nothing stops the Fury brothers. Family and the protection of his loved ones and those who needed them was his north and even more so for Kavner Fury, the most successful of them all. When a Treasury agent directs his suspicions towards him, it stimulates him, it piques his interest and the hunter within him. The prey was for him.
The blows suffered in life are not easy to forget and put aside and it was practically impossible for agent London Coleman to visualize another reality that was not permeated by his sad past. But Kavne, known as an avid protector, had handled the ghosts of his past and successfully and this damsel in distress needed it and, in more ways, than one. If I liked something about this story, it was how most of the time while reading it I found myself with a smile on my face. Interesting descriptions and narrations with feelings and emotions running amok! I kept visualizing the movements, the word games between the protagonists and how Kavner lowered London's barriers. Sigh. Not boring at all. The story flowed at a good pace. Of course, the action, the suspense and danger were present and very strong because Agent Coleman had her thing, she did not allow herself to be intimidated, her job had become very dangerous and against her. And the attraction between them was explosive. I like it when the characters take control and show what they can get ahead of. Action, suspense, intrigue, mistrust, betrayal, violence, romance, and passion.
