No promises. No fake tomorrows. That was the plan.
New city. New life. At least, that's what 19-year-old Jen Harrison believes. On the surface, she's living her dancing in a prestigious dance company in Paris. But her sister's death and the mistakes she's tried to bury haunt her. She's become a pro at hiding who she truly is, and she definitely doesn't want a guy to derail her, but a one night-stand she can do. Nothing more. She definitely doesn't plan to see the sexy stranger who made her laugh for the first time in years ever again.
Girls don't walk away from Lucas Wills. Bad boy turned rock star, he's got his share of groupies. Always upfront, he doesn't promise fake tomorrows because love can destroy everything. Been there, done that. His ex not only lied to him, she stomped on his heart, used him to become famous, and almost ruined him. So, waking up alone after a night beyond his wildest imagination with a girl he just met shouldn't upset him, shouldn't inspire one of the saddest songs he's ever written, shouldn't make him want to chase after her.
When Jen, the one-night stand who got away, auditions to be a dancer in Lucas' next music video, they can't stop their growing attraction. But Jen's secrets and his ex could shatter the careers they tried so hard to build and their hearts…they will have to decide what's more important and if love is worth the fight.
Elodie Nowodazkij writes sizzling rom-coms with grumpy book boyfriends and the bold, funny women who win their hearts. You have no idea how excited I was about this book. I loved the previous books and novellas from the Broken Dreams series and because I already knew Jen I couldn’t wait to finally read a story about her. When I first read A Summer Like no Other I really didn’t like Jen because she was a mean girl and a unlikeable character but in Always Second Best it was possible to see why she acted that way so I wanted to know more about her. Once again I really enjoyed the story and the characters created by the author. Jen had so much more in her story than what was known. Lucas was also a great character. I really liked him and I loved to see these two together. Jen and Lucas almost dethroned Em and Nick as my favorite couple from this series, and that’s huge because I love Em and Nick, but in the end the instalove aspect of their relationship got in my head. Still, they were extremely cute. I also really liked the side characters and I wouldn’t mind if we had something (like a book or a novella) about Steve and Alisha. That would be great. I wasn’t expecting the turn of events that happened by the end of this book. It was a nice surprise and I couldn’t have guessed that something like that would happen not even in a thousand years. There were a few things that could have done better but in the end I really enjoyed this book. My only problem with this book was a little timeline inconsistencies in one certain event that happened in the story but that’s the only thing that I didn’t like that much.
Also, let me just fangirl for a little bit because Elodie Nowodazkij talked about Villain Complex, a fictional band from Elizabeth Briggs Chasing the Dream series which, by the way, it’s one of my favorite NA series out there. Well done, Elodie. I loved this nice touch :D . Overall, this was a great addition to the Broken Dreams series. I really enjoyed the story and it’s possible to see how much the author has improved through these books. I would definitely recommend you this book and the remain books from the series.
Love in B Minor is an awesome addition to the series, and it is close to being my favorite of the series, though this one diverges in a big way from the 2 previous stories… beginning with the fact that this book falls within the New Adult genre, due to the age of the protagonists, while the previous stories were well within the Young Adult genre. It is also different when you read about a character that you’re already fond of, and Jen – after a less stellar start in A Summer Like No Other, she really came around in Always Second Best and became super close to Emilia, so I was already fond of her.
I liked the writing style and it’s allusions to ballet, and luckily it wasn’t overdone, which meant that the story flowed well and quickly.
Quick time-out for a huge fangirling moment: Elodie Nowodazkij included references to Villain Complex, the band from Elizabeth Briggs Chasing the Dream series in this book, and I was ecstatic!
I really liked the two main characters and how they were both going through quite similar things, with Jen dealing with the death of her younger sister and Lucas dealing with the death of his best friend, and I really liked how they supported and listened to each other. Their relationship was super cute, though I will admit that Nick and Em are still my favorites. But this is undeniable instalove, and a pretty fast one at that too… I mean, within 3 days of knowing each other they’re way too intense.
Now, this book really surprised me. BIG.TIME. I did not see that coming…. at all, and I still can’t quite wrap my head around what happened.
I did have one thing that bothered me quite a bit, and that was some inconsistencies in the timeline, mostly of some characters’ lives. There was a particular event that technically happened at three different points in time, and not all of them made sense with the rest of the story.
All in all, I really liked this book, it was so not what I was expecting! So, have you read the Broken Dreams series? Why not? Get to it!

Everyone has an agenda. Everyone is always looking for something more.
First of all don't get deceived with this cute cover, this story is anything but cute. I can't say I enjoyed it really very much, but it was an ok YA book. About chasing your dreams and coming to terms with you actions and their consequences.
"Sometimes letting people in is also another way to love yourself, to give yourself a chance.”
I must say Jen was an ok character, sometimes she annoyed me, but I liked her. And Lucas, he was an asshole sometimes, and confused me with her thoughts and accusations, but well... he was not always right. However, I liked that they both after what they wanted despite being scolded for it.
I didn't like Olivia from the beginning, and I knew that their friends death was somehow connected to her. All the twist and mental disorders were unexpected and surprising for me, it kind of felt out of place, but well when they don't right?
Although, I must admit that I was more interested in Alisha and Steve, hopefully we will get a story with them.
The only thing that I regret is that I didn't get to read the first books in the series before reading this.
Well, I am kind of in love with this book. Now, at least. A few weeks ago, I might have told you how difficult it was and how I wondered if I would ever get it right. I think I did. Jen & Lucas have my heart. And I can't wait for you all to read it. It is available for pre-order for only $0.99...
So this ended up being very different from what I expected but it a good way. I won’t say to much because it may spoil some plot points. But it’s a great story. I’m definitely going to be looking into her other books.

This is the 3rd book I've read by Elodie Nowodazkij (after A Summer like no other and Always Second Best), and I was really looking forward to reading it, because Elodie's writing is just incredible. She has this talent for creating characters that are both real and that you can't help falling in love with. Jen and Lucas were no exceptions! I loved every page of their growing love story...
The tribute paid to Paris really touched me. The depiction of the City of Lights is one of the things I loved most about the book. It was both accurate and incredibly romantic.
Love in B minor is definitely a page turner, and I could not get enough of it. That is actually my only criticism regarding the book : it could have been way longer. I wanted more scenes between Jen and Lucas, more details, more... and even more of Steve and Alisha... but maybe in a next book in the series, who knows? :)
Love in B Minor wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. With the corny title and pink cover... I mean, I couldn't help but assume the worst. Luckily for me it wasn't the sappy. terribly written cliche I first judged it for. It is actually very mature. It touches boldly on the subject of drugs, regret, and loss. Nineteen year old Jen is living in Paris and fighting her demons and grief with dancing and perseverance. Lucas is the rockstar with the badboy persona and some well deserving trust issues. This is their story. A one-night stand. A audition. A psycho chick. And coming to terms with loss and past mistakes. All in all, a sweet and pretty clean romance. Plus, this is the first book with a ballerina that isn't stuck up that I have read.
Love in B Minor was intriguing and sweet. This story had just about everything - death, betrayal, a psychotic character, romance, music, emotion. Who knew?!?! I was completely taken aback. By the time I finished reading, my mind was reeling. All I know is that Lucas and Jen had quite a whirlwind relationship that was full of interesting challenges.

Love In B Minor By: Elodie Nowodazkij Narrated by: Kasi Hollowell
Elodie Nowodazkij is a new to me author and I will happily be checking out more of her work. She has a way with words and a wonderful writing style. Her storylines are interesting, the grabbed me right from the start and captivated me to the very end. Her characters are complex and well developed, they are also realistic and it was easy to relate to what they were going through and feeling. I loved the two leads, Jen and Lucas, each are suffering from a loss and struggling from their own demons, but it is the chemistry between them that brings them together. I loved how they could be themselves with each other, despite their careers and who they are, which I found quit fitting. I loved both he music and dance aspect included in the story. There is never a dull moment in this book, there is drama, angst, twists and romance. I highly recommend this enjoyable and entertaining story, it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride and to the edge of your seat after a great plot twis! Well done Elodie Nowodaskij, very well done! Thank you for the great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Kasi Hollowell is a wonderful narrator and voice performer. She brings the characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She projected the emotions of the characters in her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧
First, I have to start off by stating that I got this book free of charge in exchange for a review, but as I always state, this does not in any way impact my review. My reviews are always honest and my own.
I liked the writing style and it’s allusions to ballet, and luckily it wasn’t overdone, which meant that the story flowed well and quickly.

Now, this book really surprised me. BIG.TIME. I did not see that coming…. at all, and I still can’t quite wrap my head around what happened.
A captivating story: of course romance (how could it not be romantic with a setting of Paris as the back drop to the love story?), music, dancing, personal tragedies, strong determination, loving and supportive family and friends. Wonderful characterizations that covered a gamut of varying personalities, including one that must have required much research, in order to accurately portray the character. An eye opener into the behind-the-scenes life of artists, albeit dancer or musician. Well worth taking the time to read this lengthy novel.
Highly Recommended.

I received a copy of this book as part of a goodreads giveaway. All opinions are my own.
I loved Jen and Lucas. Their pain mirrors one another and they share a lot of the same experiences. Granted Lucas's pain more severe than Jen's because he lets the betrayals from his ex affect his judgement when it comes to his relationship with Jen. But they are so good together and liked all the time they spent together. The sort of mystery of leaked information and pictures was a trip, if not a bit predictable. It was still mind blowing a bit. This was such an enjoyable book.
The book is a good romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable cute romance read.

Appealing blurb, good characters but a wacky timeline that sort of threw me off from the story. Jen is a ballerina, Lucas a rock star their worlds shouldn't mesh but when they do what's next?
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It was great having characters that are well developed and engaging and have plenty of chemistry. The flow of the storyline was steady and smooth.

It was really cute. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator drove me craze over a few things. The overall story was nice though. A love story between a ballerina and a rockstar in the middle of Paris.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I absolutely loved the setting of this book. I’ve been to Germany and lived vicariously through my husband and his trips to Europe with high school kids. (One day I will make it myself to see more of Europe.) History was never my best subject in school. Yet this book made me want to go look up the history of Paris (and hopefully continue on to other areas fro there).
I was concerned for Jen at the start of the book and the situation she put herself in. But thankfully Lucas came to the rescue. I admire Jen for having the nerve to move across the world and live out her dreams.
Both Jen and Lucas have had a lot of heartache in their recent pasts and struggle with trust issues. They both agree to explore each other for one night. But circumstances bring them together for so much more.
I enjoyed the look into the rockstar life and the making of a music video as well as the look into the life in a ballet company. I’ve read the prequel to the Broken Dreams series and enjoyed it. I didn’t realize that this book was part of that series. So obviously it can be read as a standalone. But now that I’ve read Love in B Minor, I definitely want to go back and read the other books in this series.
I really enjoyed Jen & Lucas’s relationship. They have some creative “dates” not the usual dinner and a movie. There are some other side characters in the story that I wouldn’t mind learning more about.
The book takes a couple of turns that surprised the heck out of me. They were good surprises and I liked the way it turned out. This book also has me thinking that I maybe should try to catch a ballet sometime. I absolutely loved this book and would totally recommend it to anyone who likes new adult romance.

Really enjoyed this book it was sweet yet still held some mystery and just when you think you figured it all out, it throws you another curve. The plot was very well written and made me feel like I was on an episode of some TV show. This writer's love for her characters and hard work can be felt through out the entire read.
Jennifer Harrison just moved to Paris to live her dream of dancing for a big ballet company after promising her little sister. Now she has the opportunity to dance in a video for a famous band and you think "What is the worst that could happen?"
Lucas Wills is the star in the band. After losing his best friend and being used by the one person he thought was the love of his life he can't trust anyone. People always want something and everyone has anterior motives.
Jennifer never thought getting the part as a dancer in the video would turn her once boring life into a circus. Receiving hate email, death threats and being made into a villain blamed for the break up of fans favorite musical couple. And the big bonus is having not just her personal life and secrets but also the death of her sister is not something she signed up for.
Ever since Lucas band hired Jennifer as the new dancer in their video things have been going crazy things he never wanted out are now being leaked to the media and that leaves him questioning if he can trust her. Maybe his feelings for her are blinding him to her real motives.
I really struggled writing this review. I really wanted to love this book. I LOVED the synopsis, and I just had to read it. However, this book fell a little flat for me.
Love in B Minor is a love story that takes place between a ballerina and the lead singer of a popular band in Paris. I found that premise and the setting so interesting. I haven't read too many books set in Paris, and I couldn't wait to dive into this one. The writing was excellent. The author certainly knows how to write a scene that grabs your attention. My problem with this book really has to do with the storyline itself.
The actual pace of the story was off for me. I was completely captivated for the first 25% of the novel. I was loving the chemistry between the two protagonists, and I liked the direction the story was going. Then the book stalled. I found myself bored and a little annoyed with the characters from that point on. There wasn't a lot going on, and I found myself loosing interest fast. The ending felt really rushed and I thought it didn't really jive with the story as a whole.
While this book was not my absolute favorite, I did find it enjoyable. The writing was A+ and I would like to read more from this author in the future!

Both reeling from losses and past mistakes, talented ballerina, Jen Harrison, and lead singer for famous band Dire Blue, Lucas Wills, want nothing more than a fresh start. When one unfortunate event brings them together and leads them through one unforgettable night rediscovering Paris (and rediscovering themselves), it takes much will power for Jen to walk away and log this as just another one night stand. Meanwhile, Lucas finds himself feeling empty after waking up to the absence of Jen. They find themselves in each other's company again when Jen auditions for Dire Blue's music video, where the sparks between them are undeniable. But with Dire Blue attempting a comeback, both of their pasts come to the surface and are thrust into the spotlight, and both struggle to decide whether to let their insecurities rule or to fight for a future together.
This was a short and sweet read, which I'm actually having a bit of a tough time reviewing. As much as I enjoyed getting to know the characters, I kept getting confused by the timeline, and how certain events didn't quite match up. Otherwise, the premise for the story made for a convincing turn of events (and what a suspense that was!). I loved reading about Paris too, and the connection between Jen and Lucas really did warm the soul. Not one for my must-read list, but definitely worth the consideration for a quick feel-good story.
I received the E-ARC from the author. I swear Elodie's books get better and better. Jen and Lucas are wonderful characters and they are so well written that it's like you know them. The alternating chapters are great because you're getting the story from both points of view.
From the beginning until the utterly shocking end this book kept my attention. The ballerina and the rock star. Two people who you probably wouldn't imagine together but fit each other so perfectly.
Jen is hurting from the loss of her sister and is trying hard to hide it and focus on her dancing. Lucas is hurting as well from the loss of his best friend and the betrayal of his ex. And they find each other for what each think is one night and each heals the other a little bit in that short time together. Then Jen gets cast to dance in Lucas' bands music video and they're unexpectedly back in each others lives.
Of course Lucas has trust issues (who doesn't have someone betrays you?) and that causes some drama and tense situations but they continue to heal each other.
I can't write anymore because I keep typing spoilers and I don't want to do that! You have to read the book to find out everything!!
Just know that this book is perfect and the end, oh the end. It's a crazy, fun ride of a book and hopefully you'll fall in love with this book and the characters as much as I have.
Jen almost gets mugged in Paris but a man comes to her rescue who says his name is Clement even though his first name is really Lucas. Jen tells him her name is Laura as she only planned on a one night stand and never seeing him again. Just to forget for a minute everything that has happened to her. Jen’s six year old sister had died from cancer less than a year ago and she had pushed Jen to go to Paris Jen thought the new treatment may be working and did as Mia wanted. Mia died not to long after Jen had went to Paris. Lucas had his heartbroken by his ex girlfriend Olivia who had used him and lied. Also Luke’s best friend Benji had died of an overdose while trying to get clean. So both Jen and Lucas were still hurting a lot. Lucas was in a band that had also had Benji and Olivia in it. The band had went on a break after Benji had died and were now planning a comeback. Olivia also wanted back in the band. She seems to have learned from her mistakes even if Lucas is moving on. I absolutely loved this story. Not your regular rock band story but i loved the difference. I love the characters all of them except Olivia naturally. I also love the twists and turns Jen and Lucas go through even of some were painful. I highly recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Love in B Minor was a sweet story about Lucas and Jen, a rock star and a ballerina who meet in an unconventional way and fall for each other quickly. I did not read the first book in this series and didn't even realize there was another book so this can definitely be read as a standalone story. I was expecting a sexy, steamy story but was surprised that it was the complete opposite---a sweet romance with no heat at all. For me, this was a let down since I prefer hot, sexy times and the story is built around their wildly passionate one-night stand. I had a hard time relating to their feelings for one another afterwards since I didn't get to experience this connection that they supposedly had. However, on the flip side, the build up to their relationship throughout the book was sweet and I did feel some of the sparks. But it still was missing something for me.
Love in B Minor has a lot going on throughout the book----there's the sweet budding romance, the annoying ex girlfriend, lots of secrets, a bit of danger and a bizarre twist as the story comes to it's peak. At the end, I was left sort of scratching my head over the way it all went down. I'm still conflicted over how I ultimately feel about the entire story. I liked it but didn't love it, it was okay but not great.
I enjoyed this book right until that ending happened. :(
Jen and Lucas had one night together and didn't plan on seeing one another ever again. Well, fate works in a funny way because Jen's friend tells her about an audition that happens to be for Lucas' band. The two meet again and Lucas starts feeling something deeper. Never has a one-night stand made him want to spend more time together. But Jen is different.
I loved Jen. Her backstory is tough and sad and because of that she moves to Paris (PARIS!!!! <3) to pursue dancing. She made a promise to her sister that she has to keep and she's doing just that. Lucas is dealing with the death of his best friend and the pressure to keep the band together. Add in the ex girlfriend that made him have trust issues and you've got one helluva story. Lucas and Jen help each other. There's also some insta-love going on (which I hate) but it works here.
You get to see the life of a famous person in Love in B Minor; the paparazzi, the scandals, the betrayal, so I was invested in the story, it was just that the person making everything difficult for Jen and Lucas kind of through me off and not in a good way. Besides that, the story was solid.

It was love at first page for me. I have been a HUGE fan of Elodie's since I read her first book "One, Two, Three (Broken Dreams:Natalya"s Story #1)" Elodie writes with passion and she grabs the reader into her stories very quickly.
But Jen is different somehow and he just can't get this girl out of his head. It might cost him a lot but he doesn't care. He has to see her again.
Jen has a sad story before she meets Lucas which makes her an interesting character to read about. Her back story makes it very easy for the reader to feel for her. Jen is tough outside but inside she is sad and withdrawn. Lucas also has a past he'd rather not talk about. The two characters make for a very good story.
This book was short and sweet but the author still manages to put passion, imagery and feeling into her characters and her writing. Another great read by Elodie.

When I found about this book, you have no idea how excited I was about it. I have read all of the other books in the Broken Dreams series and i loved the previous books and novellas, so I was very excited about this one too and when I found out it was about Jen from A Summer Like no Other I could not wait to finally read a story about her and her life and who she would fall in love with. Also I want to know if she had grew up and stop being a bitch.
Jen had so much more in her story than what was known. Lucas was also a great character. I really liked him and I loved to see these two together. To broken souls, who found each other and being to heal each other.
The end of this book, I have not seen that coming. It was a nice surprise and I could not have guessed that something like that would happen.
Overall is was a very good book, it was as good as the other books in the series and definitely a good read.

Love in B Minor is a really sweet story with a lot of intense far-from-sweet conflicts. This is my first time reading any of Elodie Nowodazkij's novel and it's fair to say that I will definitely be reading more of her work. The writing style is so neat and engaging, I was hooked since the first few pages. The setting and characters are well developed and introduced that I find it really easy to imagine myself being in the story and falling in love with the characters.
It was awesome throughout the story when suddenly out of nowhere a major twist emerged. I was in shock I tell you. Although I was kinda expecting this one particular character to be the villain I was not expecting his/her (no spoilers ;)) problem and doings would be that... Bad. So kudos for Elodie Nowodazkij for slapping me on the forehead and throwing me off balance.
Overall, I like this book. A lot. Felt like the conclusion and epilogue was just a little bit rushed but like it nevertheless. Totally recommended!
First of all, how great is this story’s title?! Love in B Minor is a juicy, guilty pleasure read with powerfully written musical and dance sequences, a gorgeous Parisian setting, and main characters, Lucas and Jen, who’ve got chemistry for days. Though this novel is part of the Broken Dreams series, it falls more into the NA category than YA, and can be read as a standalone. It’s an intense, emotional story with three distinct strengths. First, its romance, which is full of sparks. Second, its diverse cast of characters, who have backstories that are layered and, often, haunting. And third, its conclusion, which is a surprising and exciting deviation from the other Broken Dreams books. Pick up Love in B Minor if you’re looking for a read with scandal and heat and characters who’ll stay with you long after The End.
