This time the wood-worker gets to be the protector. Overall I liked the book but a couple things urked (spell?) me. The miscommunication was sorted REALLY quickly. I mean it could have been faster, how many celebrities semi-stalk someone if they don’t like them at all, but when they came face-to-face, it was sorted in seconds. And when the big bad was vanquished, there was a lot of book left. I know she always finishes with the wedding but there was more book then normal.

Luved!!!!!

What can I say but I couldn't put down another book by Kathleen yet again,
Had to be read from start to finish and at 1 points I had tears rolling down my face from laughing so hard at just 1 paragraph (you know it when you get to it, just pay close attention to what Mitzy says 😉)......
Trent is his brilliant self with some wisdom thrown in for 1 of his cousins who needs to hear some home truths, Sky and Karri are fabulous additions and I really hope to hear more from Karri and her story through future books,
As always Bubba made a very public appearance along with Bertha and a new addition baby gator, which I hope will grow with the stories into Bubba 2 😁.

If you have read any of Kathleen's books before you wont be disappointed and if you have never read any of hers before start from book 1 Bluegrass State of Mind and read everything to date , you sooooooo wont be disappointed for doing it

She felt like home to him

Trent knows the minute he meets her, she feels the same...they were made for each other. But not everyone agrees and they are torn apart, can they find their way back to each other again? Together they must fight the threats, both known and hidden but Never fear they have all of Shadows landing fighting with them, for them....so they are guaranteed success...surely!
Join them for naughty knitting, a bake-off, naked apple pie eating, gator wrestling, a red carpet kiss-off, kidnappings, court hearings and a bonus couple falling in love too....

Awesome

A lot of people say this over and over but this is the best book! I think it's like 44 books that I've read of Kathleen Brooks but this book was truly just amazing! Trent and Skyes story is non stop laughs action and a few tears! Come join the love and shadows landing and enjoy the family from Kentucky also!

Hilariously wonderful. Suspenseful and at the edge of my seat.
Did not want to put the book down, stayed up late to finish it.
Meeting new friends and reconnecting with old friends.
Maybe I should take up knitting, haha.

A page turner as always

If you are in the mood to cry with laughter, bite your lip at the tense moments and then sigh at the romance, this is the book for you. Action packed romantic comedy at its finest.

Each book gets better.

Still laughing!

What do you need on the day from hell? Kathleen Brooks!
First of all, Ms. Brooks, thank you! I do not believe I stopped laughing from the beginning till the very end.iy was 3am, when I stopped/finished, because even though I ached everywhere and had been calling asleep since 7pm, yet when I finally got to bed, it was almost midnight and by then ouch, two days of falling and a very bruised set of knees and a back meant I couldn't sleep. So looking at my tablet, my thoughts were I'll just start Broken Shadows, then I'll have something to look forward to in the morning when I wake. LOL! I should have known better, once I began, it was all over! I needed this! Definitely needed sleep, but at 3am about 3hrs after I began, I knew it would be morning I looked forward to with worse headache a of course a review to do!

I absolutely LOVED Trent and Sky's novel! She was perfect heroine, not wimpy,but certainly sucked into her life till there was little left of her, the real Sky.
Once realized, she and her best friend Karri, call in the big guns and end up in Shadows Landing for hiding, ( if this was your first Shadows Landing book, Bless your Heart, you missed so much!), where both are right at home and then begins, the craziness, laughter, underhanded fighting back, and some serious surprises.! Throughout all of this , immediately after entering town Trent and she are together, and together give Sky's problems , "in Sky's words their balls cut off and shoved down their throats". Add in help from Keenston Family, and you have little opportunity to stop laughing, while attempted abductions, her attorney attacked ruthesslessly, but this is Shadows Landing, and even through it all, Sky gets herself back, and with complete laughter, cuts them off , at the balls!
My goodness, it was nothing less than I expected from a Kathleen Brooks novel, YES!
JUST didn't think I would finish around 3am, however my own fault! Only a concussion level 3, would allow me to stop!
Another Faulkner nights the dust and finds happiness.and one you manipulated young woman and her best friend find home in Shadows Landing!
I loved, still smiling!
This Shadows Landing was not the best, but as I wait between Kathleen Brooks novels, I have read and own all to date, again I want to say, it was the best!

ANOTHER ENCHANTING STORY!!!!👍👍👍👍👍

As usual Kathleen Brooks writes a lovely heartwarming story that makes you smile, laugh, swoon, and be so glad to meet up again with all the interesting, quirky, and loveable people from Shadows Landing!!! As a bonus we also get to catch up with some of the Keenston clan too!!!! Trent and Skye were a lovely kind and considerate couple. Their romance was both sexy and so sweet. I was so glad there wasn't lots of angst between them which made for a very uplifting story that left me feeling happy and contented!! There was lots of suspense and some very surprising twists and turns that kept the book moving along at an intriguing and interesting pace. The story also had some very hilarious parts that had me laughing out loud! I especially liked a kitchen scene when the older ladies decided to visit Trent and Skye.... You will too! As usual the wackiness factor was charming and the affection, support and loyalty of all the various friends, relatives and townspeople was a joy to read about. I highly recommend this book. You can sit back and relax while snuggling in your favorite chair, and be guaranteed, because it a Kathleen Brooks' book, laughs, smiles, heart stopping moments, and a truly enjoyable read!!😇

Broken Shadows is the fifth book in Kathleen Brooks Shadow Landing series that is part of her Bluegrass Universe! The Shadows Landing series has its own story line but how can it be separated from the Bluegrass and Keeneston, Kentucky, when many of Marcy Davies’ family live in that coastal town/region just outside Charleston, SC!
It is Trent Faulkner’s turn this time! He is one of the cousins that builds amazing furniture and who felt an instant connection with beautiful Skye Jessamine who is American sweetheart in shark infested Hollywood … Skye is from a small town Midwest and as she says, you can take a girl out of Midwest but you cannot take the Midwest and small town out of a girl so when she feels the connection, she is ready to fight for it … How do you fight though when you do not know who you can trust and who are the sharks that are after your blood? She knows that she needs to head to Shadows Landing and if Trent is willing to fight then they will face the sharks together and if they win, the future is filled with love and family!
In addition to Skye and Trent we also get Skye’s best friend’s Karri’s story and I hope we can hear more of Karri as she is now as well part of Shadows Landing and the ghost have accepted her!
I suggest that you start the series from the beginning and if you trust me, truly trust me, then I would suggest that go to the original beginning and start with Bluegrass State of Mind and merge yourself into Kathleen Brook’s universe for days to come!

Brilliant writing Kathleen, humor is one of the hardest things to write. I love the close connection of the family in this series but I was especially taken by the friendship of Skye and Karri. There are so many relationships going on in this series I don't know how Kathleen keeps up but she does a masterful job. When they show up in Trent's town of Shadows Landing at the same time as Big Bertha and Bubba the fun really starts. Of course Olivia is my next favorite gal after Harper (although everyone of the women characters would be a great friend to have). And then Morgan showed up from the Kentucky family (I will be going back and reading these stories next). Sheriff Granger is another one of my favorite male characters so can't wait for his story. With this book, when Skye and Karri went to the knitting club, I laughed so hard I cried and had to stop reading, laughed so hard and started again, laughed so hard and started again. You won't be sorry if you pick up this book or series.

Broken Shadows is the fifth book in the Shadows Landing series by Kathleen Brooks. Shadows Landing Series combines small-town charm, suspense, and a dash of romance.
This is a contemporary romance series with a small-town setting, some romantic suspense elements, a little drama, intrigue, tension, mystery, humour, and adventure.
After reading Ms. Brooks ‘Bluegrass’ series, and not being as ‘blown away’ by them as I had expected and hoped, I wasn’t sure if I would take the plunge into this series or not. But as they were sitting on my TBR already, and also wanting to clear my TBR list, I decide to just dive in and get them done. I have to admit that, thankfully, I did ‘enjoy’ this series a bit more than the Bluegrass books.

Fabulous Read

Trent and Sky are perfect for each other. They complete each. They have sizzling chemistry and an amazing friendships. I love that Trent helps her find her voice and lets her be herself. He knows she's strong, caring and loving. He loves her fighting spirit.

Sky is falling for Trent and his beautiful town. With him she finds a home and love. Shadow Landing is a beautiful town full of crazy people that accept and fight for their own. They share a love of Apple pies and fun, engaging family fun.

This is a beautiful romance with characters that are courageous, loving and supportive. I love all the characters especially the knitting club ladies and their fun themes. I highly recommend this wonderful series. Each book just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for the next one!

Such a fun trip back to Shadow's landing! I really enjoyed this book! I love how Kathleen places the previous people from previous books inside the next books. I love how we don't have to lose any characters! Once again the character development was perfect! Not only do we meet Skye Jessamine the famous actress but also her best friend Karri Hill! This book had the couple the book was mostly about as well as a secondary coupling! Skye has to fight a lot of demons but who better to protect her and help her than Trent Faulkner?! Peter Castle the FBI agent and Karri made my heart smile as well! Oh and future readers... you will LOVE the knitting club! The hammer warmer!! :) :) :)!
I am so glad I was able to read this book so quickly! Thank you Kathleen Brooks for another wonderful trip to Shadows landing!

Trent Faulkner cabinet maker made a delivery of custom furniture to actress in California, little did he expect to find a connection and love.

Skye Jessamine America’s sweetheart is small town girl at heart. She meets Trent and spends a day and hot night with him, she thinks he feels the same. Only he is gone when she wakes up and won't return her texts. Turns out her controlling mgr and agent lied to him and got rid of him.

He goes home and tries to forget her but since she is everywhere in the media is hard to do. He sees her pictured by the paparazzi with other guys and hardens his heart. However it is all lies by her team to try to keep her under their control. When someone tries to kidnap her she and her best friend/assistant run for their lives to Shadows Landing and to Trent, the only one she trusts.

Riveting Suspense from Chapter One to finish with a whole lotta lovin!!
I loved this story. It deserves more than 5 stars.
Trent and Skye are wonderful together as well as Karri and Peter. Skye never gave up. I loved the involvement of the Keeneston and Shadow Landing citizens throughout the story. This was romantic suspense at its finest. I love it when there are some unexpected surprises and cool action heroes. The bad guys were really disgusting but the alpha heroes from Keeneston and Shadow Landing come thru. The knitting club members have their moments as well. Some great laughs and funny moments. I could read this over and enjoy it more the 2nd time around. I can't wait for Tinsley's story as well as Ryker and the rest.

Skye and Trent

Another great book for the Shadows Landing series! While enjoyable as a standalone book in a series, it never hurts to dive into Ms. Brooks other series to get an even better feel for the flow when it comes to the vast characters. The connection of the Faulkner family goes back to their Keeneston counterpart from her Bluegrass series. What I can say is regardless of the number of books Ms. Brooks writes... You will love every book she has published. I should know... I habe read all of them MULTIPLE TIMES and I love every one of them!! Small town charm, quirky characters and a story that never fails. Really, the places she has created have become my favorite escape that I really wish existed. Trust me... You can't go wrong with this author and her books.

Trent Faulkner was a furniture designer designed a special order for Skye Hollywood favorite sweetheart. When he delivered the furniture he had no idea meeting the real Skye was possible. She invited him to stay for dinner and the talked all night. 😉well mostly, only when he woke her manager Lenny was there shoving a NDA in his face, so he signed it and left. Skye tried to connect with him after but he didn’t return her calls or text. Then as Hollywood always does, some naked pictures were leaked. Not all real. Anyway leading her straight to him in Shadows Landings. Awesome story with lots of twists and turn and action excitement.....

Gators, Wolves and Bears...

I love it when new characters break their way to the surface and demand some of the spotlight! Big Bertha sure knows how to make an entrance memorable, and I can't wait to see where Karri's Wolf and Agent Castle's Black Bear come through. There is just so many wonderful things coming to light that I don't even know where to start! There just aren't words to describe how much I love a Kathleen Brooks book! I fell in love years ago with Keeneston and then she snuck the Faulkners into our lives! Shadows Landing is now one of my favorite fictional places to visit!

Another great book by Kathleen Brooks. I loved Trent and Skye and now not only do I want to go to Keeneston but I want to go to Shadows Landing! There was laughter and suspense and of course Bubba! The entry that Skye and Karri made into Shadow's Landing was funny as hell. I love how all the family both Shadow Landing and Kentucky make cameo's of some type. This book was a lot of the original with the older brothers. The fact that she was able to bring other characters from other books into this series has been great also. I know all her books are "standalones" and you don't have to read the one to read the other but WHY would you want to do that.?!?! Bring on the next Faulkner!!!

From Hollywood to Shadows Landing, there were twists and turns. A number of things I did not expect cropped up.

I liked Trent and Skye's romance even before she turned up in Shadows Landing. They were a sweet couple.

The thing that made this book a hit for me had to do with the citizens, friends, family, and associates of Shadows Landing. These quirky characters had me laughing. There were still some serious moments, and as usual, Shadows Landing came to the rescue.

When I need to relax, enjoy, giggle, or laugh out loud, Shadows Landing and the excellent narration by Eric G. Dove is the place for me. I also get the plus of an epilogue!

I love visiting Shadow Landing and with the skilled storytelling of Katherine Brooks it always feels like that. I carry in my head pictures of the residents and sigh as another cousin finds their soul mate. This book had so much going on! The only thing missing were the adorable seven children of a deployed military husband.. i laugh, chuckle, feel fear, cheer the good guys and most of all I keep thinking as I try to find the bad guys, motives and the next cousin to star in their adventure. I'm betting Tinsley. Can't wait!

Love this series

Such a sweet story but full of action and intrigue. What i love more about all her books is the sense of humor and the love of family infused in all her story lines. I was reading at night and had to leave my room to not wake up my husband because i was laughing out loud and actually snorted a time or two. How embarrassing! These characters are so funny! OMG i would love to meet people like this.

You will fall in love with these characters, this town and the whole adventure. I love how the family in Shadows Landing interacts with those members in Keeneston. When Hollywood meets the south, chaos is likely. Sky falls quickly for Trent's honesty and charm. He lets circumstances push him away initially. I love how she is strong enough to fight for their relationship yet does not appear weak for doing so.

Once again Kathleen Does the magic she does(Thank the good lord) Now if she could just Get out of her magic wand and make Shadow Landing (and Keenston) A real town I will move there And I think it would be really crowded!! She needs to get with her good folk of Moonshine Hollow And see what they can whip up! No spoilers here But I will say I really wanna take up knitting again!!!

Great

Rally enjoyed Skye’s and Trents story. They had a magical connection, instant attraction but the next day he left without a word. She’s living the Hollywood dream or is it really a nightmare? He is small time guy who thought he met the woman of his dream but I found out it wasn’t what he thought.

Great story loved every bit of it and everyone in it. Can’t wait for the next one in the series.

Absolutely fantastic

Kathleen has done it again. If you're new to the series, I suggest that you do yourself a favour and start from the very beginning...that means, starting with the cousins in Keeneston Kentucky. The Faulkner's of South Carolina have come to mean just as much to me. And I am very happy with the way Trent's book turned out, and am looking forward to Tinsleys and Tyler's now.
