Garrett Dixon

I have it all, or so it seems. A thriving medical practice, money in the bank, and a standing invitation to every social event in Virginia. It doesn't matter that my marriage is a train wreck and my friend circle is limited to my business partner and my brother. Paige Blackstone

I have everything I need. My dream job as a kindergarten teacher, amazing friends, and a volunteering schedule that keeps me constantly on the move. It doesn't matter that I've put my own life on hold to help others. You don't need a relationship when you're trying to make up for the sins of your past. That's what I thought, until I met Garrett.

Our choices tried to break us. Our friendship healed us. But will the ghosts of our pasts keep us apart? Or will they be the reason we find a love neither of us saw coming?

Don’t come at me for not finishing this masterpiece. I’m not really interested reading about a man that can’t keep his dick in his pants while married to his gold diggers (his words, not mine) when it’s certain that he won’t be faithful to the female character..

Quotes from the zero.

When I moved to Virginia after my first marriage blew up in epic fashion, I had nothing. I didn’t have a job, a place to stay, or even a penny to my name, thanks to my ex-wife taking me for every dime that I had. She said it was her payback for me fucking every nurse who walked. I begged to differ and told her so. I honestly think it’s because she’s a gold-digging bitch. She was right, though. I do have a thing for nurses.

Oh, and we both have a weakness for fucking nurses in break rooms. See, our partnership was kismet.

Maybe in my younger days I would have fucked a rich patient to ensure a donation or secure the promise to get her to tell her other rich friends about my practice.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy women. And fucking. And if I could, I’d fuck a different one every day, whether I am married or not. But my wandering dick is the reason I ended up divorced and broke before I moved to Virginia. I learned my lesson the hard way. I also learned that prenups exist for a reason.

Garrett was a jerk in the beginning of this book and I really didn't think he would be able to redeem himself to win Paige's heart but he did. It was a bit of an instant changeover but then again it was extenuating circumstances.

This was cute with an added bonus of a mini mystery with little angst between Garrett and Paige.

First of all I can’t believe this is this author’s first book. What a fantastic story and amazing job she did! I am a huge fan of second chance romance and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this one! It is filled with so many amazing characters; some we know from Corinne’s books like Mark, Charlie and Ben and some like Paige and Garrett, our heroine and hero, who we either meet for the first time like Paige or Garrett who we finally have the opportunity to get to know and fall in love with. There are also a good number of supporting characters who really add to this incredible story. Mark and Charlie’s son Cullen (who is just adorable trouble) is in Paige’s kindergarten class which is how Garrett initially meets Paige. He is not really available though so nothing comes from that. But when something out of the blue happens, Garrett finds himself wanting to change his life and some things about himself and Paige is just the right person to help him do just that.
Together they become each other’s second chance at the life and love they both deserve!! Love these characters so much and their story! I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

“Right now, I see a Man who might be Older, but by his actions, is saying that it's never too late to try and change your Direction in life. That it's Never too late to try and be a better Person. And I think that's the part of him that I'm falling for the most.” ~Paige
(FYI: G's 42, P's 30)

Major DRAMA/FUN Scenes:

I suggest reading the Salvation Series by Corinne Michaels before reading books in the Society, but it is not a requirement.

Key Points for this story in the Salvation Society Collection:
- Romantic Suspense
- MC Characters are over 30 years old
- Finding the meaning to life and love
- Salvation Series connection is Mark and Charlie from Defenseless

For a debut novel, I’d say Chelle knocked it out of the park-GlandSlam style!! I was hooked from the very beginning and loved every chapter as the story flowed beautifully from start to finish.

Can I stop mid-review to just declare that I have a fictional-fan-girl-crush on Charlie!?!? She is straight up bad-ass, always has been and Chelle did a fantastic job with the cross-over!

As for Garrett and Paige, the heart and soul of Reformation, Garrett Dixon is the brother of Mark Dixon in Corinne Michaels Defenseless and Paige is the kindergarten teacher to Mark & Charlie’s son Cullen (who is a hysterical handful all on his own).

I throughly enjoyed Garrett and Paige’s sense of humour and the witty banter they shared in this slow-burn which turned to sizzling fire once a certain someone showed her true colours and Garrett was set free to make his feelings toward Paige known.

Overall, I would highly recommend Reformation to anyone who loves a good friends-to-lovers romance and look forward to seeing more from this talented author!

Wow! What a fantastic debut novel by this new writer!! Set in the amazing world created by Corinne Michaels, Ms. Sloan weaves this story in perfectly!

This is the story of Garrett and Paige and what a whirlwind of a relationship they have!

Paige is living a new life, she is doing what makes her happy and makes her fulfill her need to make up for her past mistakes.

Garrett has lived a life of wealth, excess, and living a lie of a marriage.  He thinks he has everything he wants until he meets Paige.

The flow of the story is fantastic, the timeline is perfect.  I like how Garrett's character is described and portrayed.  He has some massive flaws that have made him a total douche-canoe but the way Ms. Sloan describes his changing moments were excellent and well thought out.

You get swoons, laughs and some drama in this story, I couldn't put it down until the very end! I cannot wait to see what stories Chelle Sloan comes out with next!

I just realized that this was this authors debut, and OH MY GOSH, what a debut it was!! If was funny, sweet, sexy, adorable, pure.. just all around amazing!!

We are introduced to Garrett (Marks brother from the original Salvation series) who is on his second loveless marriage and is quickly coming to a midlife crisis. After a medical scare, he quickly realizes what is truly important in his life, and just how he wants to spend it. He knew as soon as he met Paige that she was different than all the women he's had in the past, and she makes him want to be a different and better person. Their relationship is just off the charts amazing!!

Paige is younger, but she's had a very tough and painful life. She puts all her energy into being the best possible person, between her teaching job and volunteering anywhere she can. When she meets Garrett, she's immediately attracted to him, but since he was still married at the time, she refuses to go down that road. After she helps him during his time of need, Paige starts to see who he really is. They spend more time together and form a beautiful bond, and the chemistry between them was just off the charts! Plus with Paige teaching Cullen (Mark and Charlie's son, and Garrett's nephew) and all the hilarious moments that ensued, this was definitely an amazing read! I loved seeing Charlie humanized in this book (I just couldn't connect with her in her own story) but she was just a delight here! And Twilight is his funny, crazy self! I definitely recommend this book!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

Rookie of the Year!!! 5 Stars+

Get ready for the hilarious breath of fresh air coming into your life!! Chelle Sloan's debut book with leave you laughing hysterically and gasping at surprises as you find you can't put this book down.

Reformation is a standalone story, and is a part of the Salvation Series started by Corinne Michaels. This is the story of Garrett Dixon and Paige Blackwell. The debut book by Chelle Sloan is PERFECT! The story never lags. I was fully invested by the end of chapter 2, and never set it back down. The timeline and flow of the story is spot-on.

The wit and humor of the story is exceptional!! The one liners, and the things a six year old says to steal the spotlight will have you thirsting for more.

I love Paige as the heroine of the story. I have found lately some authors writing women in a very lackluster way. There is a way for a woman to have a moral compass, be demure, smart, and yet vulnerable without being ridiculous, small-minded, a bit dumb and not relatable. Chelle perfectly portrays Paige without diminishing her as a woman.

Garrett is the new Alpha book boyfriend I didn't know I was looking for. His journey is beautiful, and believable.

I have not read a single book of the Salvation Series, and never felt lost or that I was missing part of any story.
I am a newer romance novel reader, but I have my fair share of contemporary romance novels on my read list. This book is definitely on my "Have to Have in Paperback for my shelf" list. It is that good.

I am so going to red Corinnes Defenseless duet.
Garrett Dixon is the brother of Mark Dixon (Defenseless) Garretts life was amazing and he thought hleverythkng was good. After he had an emergency which landed him in hospital he re evaluated his life. He wanted to be a better person than he was before. He met Paige before as she is his nephews teacher. So when he ended up in hospital he saw her again as she is a volunteer. After talking to Paige he decided to be better but is it as easy as it seem.
Paige is a kindergarten teacher and she loves it. She does volunteer work and her life is fu, well except for her love life. Until she meets Garrett. But Paige has her own secrets. Will she able to overcome her own issues to find her happy ending...

This is a debut novel for this author but you wouldn't say. This book had everything in it. Humor, quirky pick up lines, some twists you dont see coming but awesome chemistry and definitely romance. I hope this author writes another book soon💖😊

4.5⭐️ to kick off the Salvation Society!!

I have been looking forward to the books in the Salvation Society world to release, and Reformation started it off with a bang.

Chelle Sloan is a new to me author, but I can say I will be picking up more of her work! She did a great job with Paige and Garrett’s story. I love how she brought in Mark (Garrett is our favorite Twilight SEAL’s brother) and even Ben too! How did I get lucky and the first book I read had my 2 favorite SEALs in it?

The author kept the humor of the famous Mark Dixon that Corinne Michaels introduces us to all those years ago. Even funnier is Cullen, Mark and Charlie’s crazy son. You will meet Paige, as the ever patient kindergarten teacher for one hysterical Cullen Dixon.

The character development and story were there and made it extremely hard for me to put this one down. The author did such a great job telling Garrett’s story. I seriously was thinking I would hate him the whole book. I was wrong. It takes true finesse to change someone’s opinion of a character, and she did such a good job of crafting that. Finished in less than 24 hours.

4.5 stars for Reformation!

Wow, this was the authors debut novel- she did an amazing job and you never would have guessed it!

I have to be honest, I have not actually checked out the original books by Corinne Michaels--- shh don't tell anyone! Let's just say that it will 100% be rectified because after reading all of these correlated books that is all I want to do now!

Chelle Sloan had a really enjoyable book her. She managed to make a guy that was 100% unlikeable downright human and even someone you could root for. I really enjoyed the characters and how the story flowed unfolded. All in all, this is totally a book you should check out! I give it 4.5 outta 5 stars and will definitely be on the lookout for more books by this author!

PS: Thank you to Chelle Sloan and Candi Kane PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

Omg. This book. THIS. BOOK.

Ever read a book where in the end you can’t help the stupid smile that’s on your face? Welp, Reformation did that to me.

I can’t express how much I absolutely loved this book. In Reformation you’ll see that Garrett and Paige’s story is the best kind of testimony of how a person can really change, and do it for the better. This story was written so thoughtfully, planned out and perfectly plotted. It was so engaging and charming; from Garrett’s silly pick up lines, to Paige’s Disney princess persona, and little Cullen, the heathen offspring of Mark and Charlie, everything kept me on my toes and kept me guessing what would happen next.

This is a definite read in my opinion. 5 stars!

4.25 Stars

Truly adored and loved Paige and Garrett! Yes, at the beginning this book I had my doubts about continuing but I am so glad I did:) Yes, you hear about his true manwhore days right from his own inner thoughts and yes, that was a tough pill to swallow BUT he definitely redeemed himself for sure! I think if we hadn't gotten to truly know and understand him, we may not have appreciated his "reformation"... Now, yes, I am a believer once a cheat, always a cheat and I am hoping and praying that he is NOW and FOREVER a changed man because if not, I swear I will jump through the pages and kick his ass myself lol!

Why only 4.25 stars well as much as I loved the ending, I did want a bit more, sorry but it's a me thing. Overall a great read that was well written!!!!

I am blown away that this is a debut, as this is certainly an author to look out for in the future. This is Garrett and Paige’s story. Garrett has a successful medical practice, and is on his 2nd loveless marriage, and after a scare he finds himself putting his life in perspective, in what is important in his life. Paige has had a tough life and is following her dream as a kindergarten teacher and she volunteers whenever she can. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. This is a well written story which is sweet, humorous and a steamy read. I was hooked throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

A great read from a debut author! Reformation is a great addition to the Salvation Society series.

The story and characters drew me in from the very beginning. I really liked Paige and Garrett together and how she helped him see he wanted more from life. They were so sweet as they eventually fell for each other. I also enjoyed the appearances from characters we already know from Corinne's books.

After finishing this book, I am looking forward to more from this author!

This is a brilliant debut novel. I literally inhaled this in one evening.

Garrett has a successful medical practice. He hasn’t much luck with women as he’s in his second marriage and not happy in it. I’ve got to say I didn’t like him straightaway but he grew on me lol Paige is a kindergarten teacher. She hasn’t had it easy but she loves her job. I really liked her.

This was a well written story. I’m certainly looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Like no one he's ever met

To say when Corinne Michaels announced other authors would be continuing the Salvation journey I was so excited and terribly scared. Because the characters she created are so beloved.

Reformation was just the perfect way to carry on this family. I'll be honest, I didn't like Garrett Dixon in the beginning, he kinda grated on my nerves. Paige (who shares a "real name" with me btw) was the Disney princess kindergarten whisperer. Can I just say I LOVE Charlie and Cullen in this book. So incredibly great. And my hulk was there to protect and save the day. But I enjoyed the reformation of Garrett and Paige helping him along the way. Sometimes it takes that one moment to wake you up and pursue the happiness we all deserve.

Great journey with plenty of people to piss you off, make you laugh and love along the way!

Oh my hell...this book is so freaking good! Debut?! You wouldn’t know it! It is very well written and the characters?!...the characters were so AMAZING! Garrett with his cheesy pick up lines had me actually laughing out loud (yes, my husband thought I was weird) and I really love the fact that he’s been married twice before, uncommon with the romance books I’ve read, showing he’s not perfect! I think Charlie and I are kindred spirits lol! She has a sailors mouth and is battling a naughty child...oh how I love her! Paige is so sweet and giving, she reminds me of miss Honey from Matilda, but she has this strength she’s built up by breaking away from her traumatic past! I absolutely love Garrett and Paige! They compliment each other perfectly! Such a great book, thank you for your imagination and a beautiful love story!

“You make me want to be a better man. Every day I strive to be the man who makes you proud, who makes you feel loved, who makes you happy. Because God knows you do all of those for me every day.”

This is how you do a debut romance book! Full of of the perfect amount witty banter, cheesy pick up lines, and all out love for each other, this book was a journey about learning to love yourself first so your heart is ready for that forever kind of love. Paige and Garrett each have a mountain of baggage in tow and were not ready for fate to bring them together and show them what real love looks like. I loved the build of a genuine friendship between Paige and Garrett as the book progressed, their strong foundation made for an beautiful love story with a few good twists!

“Sometimes it’s hard looking at you because you are so damn beautiful and all I want to do is make you mine.”

Oh Garrett, he starts off as a bit of a player, never having a woman love and respect him, they have only ever wanted him for his money and it shows with his wandering eye. Yet with one look at Paige, he just knows she is something special, a woman to be treasured, surely someone too good for his hardened heart. Getting out of his nasty marriage and becoming a better man, his friendship with Paige gives him the drive to turn his life around and be a man worthy of her love. Paige is a sassy and savvy woman, volunteering all her free time to help others in need, leaving little time for herself, let alone a relationship. She is such a gem of a woman and I loved watching her be cherished by Garrett, he showed her what it means to be the center of a man’s world.

And oh did I love getting to see Mark and Charlie from Defenseless! Their son Cullen is absolutely hilarious, I would expect nothing less from Mark’s child, he is definitely a rebel rouser. He brought the laughter and it was fun getting more from the much loved Salvation series.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK REFORMATION BY CHELLE SLOAN.

GENRE: CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE.
AUTHOR: CHELLE SLOAN.
TYPE: STANDALONE.
POV: DUAL POV...FIRST PERSON.
MY RATING: 5 HOT STEAMY DROOL WORTHY STARS.

Garette has learned at a young age that all people care about is fame and money. He is a well Prestidge doctor, has his own successful clinic with his best friend and partner Trevor. He has the belief that love is a waste of time and all life is about is the materialistic thing. But one fatal incident and an impromptu encounter with his nephew's Kindergarten teacher made his rethink his whole belief system. Being a married man and lusting after a woman forbidden to him is not working out for him. But fate has different plans. Both of their pasts come back to haunt them and they have no option but to find solace in each other.

I’m also selfish. Very selfish. Which is why I want you, Paige.

I cannot believe this was a debut novel by this author. If this was just a start then I have no idea what she is going to bring next. Just fascinated by the writing style and all the amazing characters. We get to see some of our old characters and a number of new amazing characters were also shown.
The reformation is the most appropriate name for this book. An arrogant mean asshole man is being transformed into a loving, caring man.

I’m a byproduct of my past. We all are. You can’t change what happened to you, just like I can’t change my past. We can only choose how we let it dictate our future.

It has everything I could wish for in a romance book...

4.5 I need a cheesy pickup line guy in my life stars!

This is so funny! So I am new to the Tik Tok world (like I haven’t even been in there a week!) and I found this author who is so freakin hilarious with her duets with hot dudes and I LOVED her energy. I went to her profile to follow her and found out she is an author. I watched her for a couple days and then decided to look her up and OH MY GOD!!! I CAN NOT BELIEVE this is her FIRST BOOK! Chelsea writes like a seasoned author! The quick wit, the KIDS (y’all know I’m a sucker for some witty kids) the banter between the hero Garrett and his brother Mark, the cheesy pick up lines! In short it was divine!!! I loved the plot of this book!
The hero is arrogant and he was a cheater in his past and is on his second marriage (there is NO cheating in this book, not technically) and he is just in a crap place in his life. He meets Paige and then something happens and he sees her again and it’s like a light goes off and he knows this is not who he wants to be!! I loved the transformation he goes through! His character arc was so sweet to watch! Paige, bless her heart, is just...normal. She has a past that she’s not proud of but one that didn’t form the person she is today. She makes a comment to him when they first meet and it’s true, your past doesn’t determine who you are in the present.
The secondary characters were great but it was the kids that did it for me! Cullen, the nephew, Anthony the student she tutored, Penelope, the lil girlfriend...they were absolutely PRECIOUS!!!!
The only complaint I had was I wanted more dialogue and I NEEDED more of that sexy time (y’all know I love me some smut) but it didn’t take away from what was happening in the book!
I thoroughly enjoyed this so much that I didn’t get on social media at all today and only took a break for the Senate Confirmation hearings😂🙈(yeah I’m that girl). I will certainly be reading her next release later this month!!!

Angst 🌟🌟

Let me just say right quick, Chelle Sloan ROCKS!! Paige and Garrett are amazeballs but let’s face it, Cullen made this book. That little boy is a charming devil that’s for sure.

Anywho, Paige is settled into her life in Virginia and wants nothing to do with a relationship. Period. When she is not teaching little ones she is volunteering all her time. I see myself in her as I cannot stay still myself. The last thing she expected when Garrett came into her life was sparks and someone to make her rethink her life.

Garrett is a reformed playboy that has to play by the rules. Except for when it comes to Paige. Paige is his kryptonite but he cannot show it. Why? You’ll have to read to find out.

But, it isn’t Paige or Garrett that makes this book. It’s Cullen. That little boy is a charming little devil that can make your heart melt with his words. Cullen is Garrett’s nephew and takes after his uncle in a lot of aspects. My only thing was there was not much interaction with Makenna, his niece. She is mentioned but not really featured in the book.

Anywho, Reformation is just about that, Reforming. Both Garrett and Paige have things in their past they are trying to overcome. Their story isn’t simple. It’s full of ups and downs and everything in between.

I really enjoyed this debut novel by Chelle Sloan as part of the Salvation Society. It is a funny, and moving story about redemption, forgiveness, and finding true love. I was captivated by this story right from the start with it's rich characters, compelling storyline, fun banter, and lots of sizzling passion! This is about Garrett Dixon, the brother of Mark Dixon in Corinne Michaels Defenseless, and Paige, the kindergarten teacher to Mark’s son, Cullen. Garrett, a successful doctor, has lived his life to attain wealth and status. He has a marriage of convenience, mostly to attend events with him. He begins to question his life choices when he meets the kind, giving, selfless teacher, Paige. He wants to be a better man not only because of her, but for himself. It is a difficult road to redeem yourself from a life of bad choices, but the more time he spends with Paige, the more she convinces him that the person he is today is more important than the past. Their friendship is growing into a slow burn fiery attraction. But Paige has her own secrets from a past of bad choices as well. A past that is coming back to haunt her and could put them all in danger. I loved both Garrett and Paige and the evolution of their characters and relationship, that felt so genuine. It was so much fun catching up with Mark and his wife, Charlie, along with their son Cullen. This is an exciting and engaging story with intriguing plot twists that will keep you totally engaged from start to finish. This is my first book in this new Salvation world, and if they are all this funny, exciting and steamy, I can't wait to check out more from The Salvation Society!

Chelle, girl, you knocked it out of the park with this one! Your attention to detail (both plot and character wise) make this book read like it was your 10th, not debut novel. I loved all the surprises and unexpected twists throughout the chapters, leaving you guessing til the very end as to what was going to happen lend to the reformation of both Garrett and Paige.
I have to admit, Garrett was a tough pill to swallow at first- he was calloused beyond what I thought could be saved in a man. He was comfortable being the jerk, and didn’t intend on changing. But as soon as we are introduced to Paige, I knew she was going to be his saving grace. And while that is somewhat true, I loved that you allowed Garrett to save himself, as much as Paige saved herself while opening up to the comfort she could potentially find with Garrett.
You brought some sensitive topics into this novel and did it with such grace and ingenuity. We learned that life is about the continuous process of growing and learning to become the best version of yourself- a lesson that can take decades to learn sometimes, but a lesson that is never too late to learn!
Let’s also give a shout out to all the supporting characters- mostly to Charlie (as she’s one of my new book besties)!

Really cute

I wasn’t really expecting this book. I looked up this author because I thought she was hilarious on Tik Tok, then I got hooked because it had my absolute favorite couple from Corinne Michaels’ salvation series. I loved Charlie and Mark’s story so much that there is no way I couldn’t read this. I’ve read a lot of spin-offs of series I love and sometimes the author does the characters justice and unfortunately sometimes they don’t, but I have to say that this was one of the best I’ve read in regards to that. So first off thank you Chelle Sloan fir not ruining one of my favorite couples ever, in and what you did with Cullen was nothing short of perfection.

Now lets talk about how awesome both Garrett and Paige were. I don't know how you made me like a former cheating scuzzball like Garrett Dixon, but you absolutely did and Paige was just beyond perfect for the former scuzzball. The story was cute, fun, and made me smile. This was just a really well done book. Reformation could not have been a more perfect title.
