Two small-town guys. Two different dreams. One hot summer night....
Bobby is a musical genius. Reed is just the drummer. Bobby wants to chase a recording contract. Reed wants to head off to study pre-med. Before they make any decisions about their future, they need to know if they're more than each other's experiment.
The First Dance can be enjoyed as a steamy stand-alone male/male gay romance short story with a happy-for-now ending. It's also the prequel to the full-length novel, Tonight's A Second Chance Gay Romance, which explores Bobby and Reed's renewed relationship 10 years later. Expect some language and spicy situations suitable for listeners over the age of 18.
Two 18 year old young men can’t keep their hands off each other in small town Arkansas. Best friends and band mates, they’ve been messing around for a long time.
And I’m so excited that I came upon my first docking scene a day after I had learned what docking meant?! Docking and me...it was meant to be (at least in lit)!
This is the second audiobook I’ve listened to narrated by Terrence Clowe and his narration was pretty good. The quality of this audiobook wasn’t great in places and I couldn’t tell for sure if it was the way it was recorded or if it was something else. Because the sound was echo-y I suspect that it was the way it was recorded. Now, having said that, the audio was still very understandable so I didn’t mind continuing to listen to it.
This was a very steamy story and the blurb pretty much explains it. Gay or straight, this story brought back memories of being in high school, of being in love and unable to keep my hands off of my boyfriend. The story has a happy for now ending but I understand that Bobby and Reed’s second chance story can be found in the book Tonight’s Encore that I want to check out now.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
Thank God it was a short story but no short enough. I don't like a book where the story is told to you instead of being in the story. It was boring and I couldn't make a connection to the main characters at all.
This glimpse into Bobby and Reed's relationship was simply amazing. I felt like a spectator as well as a participant all at once. No spoilers here, but it's a short story with a cliffhanger of sorts that will push you to the full book! Well done.
