Rushed

I absolutely loved this series but this last book left me disappointed. It just seemed so rushed compared to the others and I felt cheated out of a fuller story.

Little one was looking for the next series to dive into. I read the description for the series, and I thought this one could be interesting; sadly, it was anything but.
I decided to read this along with the little one, and we both quickly realized that I had misjudged the book series.

L1 lost interest in the book a couple chapters in, I toughed it out until the end. I even gave book 2 a chance, and had to put it down after Brad, was introduced. Without spending any more time in this review, here's a couple quick bullet points as to why this series fell apart.

1) WAY TO MUCH EXPOSITION. I can tolerate some details, but two to three paragraphs to describe one minor detail that has little to do with the rest of the story was too much.

2) Repetition. I.e. "The wife walked towards the kitchen, and heard her husband on the phone in the kitchen."

3) Characters were unlikeable, and unbelievable. 9-13 years kids spoke like they had college degrees and solved complex problems like seasoned engineers. While the opposite could be said about the adults, who frankly were only there to be the village idiots and throw tantrums.

4) Danny/Brad - kids with disabilities do not automatically gain super human abilities. Having autism does not mean you can automatically learn an alien lobster language.

I can go on, but I don't care enough about these books to continue. I returned this series for a full refund.
