When Waneta Bowman is forced to go and stay with her cousins in Rock Point, Ohio, she misses the beau she left behind in Indiana. Even as she tries to settle into her new life, she waits anxiously to receive a letter from Thomas. But all her letters to him go unanswered. Isn’t he missing her? As the days wear on, Waneta feels guilt when thoughts of her beau are replaced by another man who offers friendship—and perhaps something more.

Jed Barkman lives on a neighboring farm near Waneta’s cousins, and he steps in to help her with a project to repay her aenti and onkel for taking her in. As Jed and Waneta spend time working together, his feelings for her grow. He hopes she might come to return his affection, but then her beau suddenly shows up. Things become confusing and complicated before coming to a surprising end.

Ruth and Thomas or Jed which will it be?

I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend it for young people as it is geared for this age. Ruth has to go away from her home to live with her aunt and uncle. She feels betrayed by her parents and Thomas her boyfriend. Jed steps in the picture and helps her in more WYoming than one. Please read you will like the end. I promise.

The Roadside Stand

Waneta was sent away by her parents to live with her aunt and uncle. I really wanted to know why her mom did not like her. Is there a book 2 to answer that question?

Positive results
What do you do when you feel rejected by the ones you love? Go live with relatives and start a vegetable stand. This is definitely an"all things work together for good" thing with God's people involved.

questions

Never answered why her parents sent her away, dropped her off like a thief in the night. Why did this happen? Otherwise a really good book, just unanswered questions

The Roadside Stand

The story was interesting, but the ending seemed rushed. More could have been done regarding a resolution between the main character and her mother.
