I found the Life after War series by mistake, this is not usually the type of book I read. But the first book The Survivors was a free ebook, and I needed something to read.
I have to say, that I've come to think of that mistake as a very happy moment. Some people have, in the past written reviews on Ms. White's books, based on grammar, or punctuation mistakes, or perhaps situations that they felt weren't realistic enough.
My answer to that is, if you read a story about the end of the world you need to suspend belief somewhat and punctuation and grammar are the editors problem, and shouldn't be laid at the feet of the Author.
The Author is supposed to tell a story, and if they are really good, a story you'll get lost in. In the case of Life after War I got so lost in the story I didn't want to find a way out.
From the Ashes is the latest addition to the Series. My only real issue is, that its not enough... Not long enough, not soon enough, and not enough information of the players left alive. Or at least not enough for me.
Ms. White has made the characters real for me. They behave in the way that I fell I would if put in those kinds of situations. Some are good, some are bad, and like in real life, it's sometimes hard to tell which is which. Not all is as it seems at first glance and I had a great time trying to figure out all of it.
I want MORE and I want it NOW !!! However I'll have to wait like everyone else until next year (or hopefully sooner) for the next book.
If you haven't read this series, I suggest you start right away, while the first book is still available for free download. And then get ready for the ride of your life.

I love this series! One of my favorite parts of this book is when Kenn has to take the team of women out and the hilarity that ensued. It was karma kicking his butt for sure.

The whole series of From the Ashes by Angela White are all must reads.
This is maybe the best series I have read in the Apocalyptic genre.
How this writer does this is unbelievable to me. Her books are also long and you get a chance to really get into the minds of the characters. This series is like a huge family with all the problems that a family will have to face plus the evil men who want to take over for their own vile use. Jeez I love her books and I think you will too.

I liked her first books but I got about halfway through this one and lost interest. Maybe I'll finish it in the future.

The final book of the first trilogy. It’s action packed and keeps the story moving. It ends with a change of leadership for Safe Haven.

Adrian is the leader of Safe Haven and he is training Angela to take his place.
Safe Haven is all that is left of a batch of people that have joined the Eagles for protection. Adrian’s job is leader and he is a tough man teaching his men to be tough but fair. Their job is to kill anyone attacking the camp. Angela is a woman who like him is different. She has been through hell and come out stronger. Adrian is training her to be his replacement. Marc is her husband and a former Marine an Eagle and her protector. They are all trying to survive after the world is devastated by war. They are trying to gather and protect those joining them and find a place that is not run by slavers or the militia that run wild. Its a lousy job but its theirs.

Keep up the great work, and ignore the outnumbered haters
I am enjoying this series a lot. The writing is solid for the most part (and that's saying a lot - the series is quite long), with interesting characters, situations, and mixed genres. In the I sometimes felt frustrated with conversation structure, and needed to reread some a few times to determine who was saying what. Some sentences interrupt flow so awkwardly that I contemplated contacting the author to donate my editing services, as I believe her obvious talent is worth backing. However, upon visiting her Website I soon discovered she's received plenty of similar offerings. Angela, you really do need more experienced proof readers and editors. That being said, I'd like to address the haters giving less than at least 3 stars...
Does this series have errors? Yes. How many ebooks have you read that are error free? None, that I've read. The series is still very much readable, and enjoyably so. If you don't like the fantasy elements, is that the author's fault? No. So why leave bad reviews making YOUR preferences her problem? Does the series lack polish in SOME instances. Yes, and considering the SUPER GENEROUS length of these books, I think the author deserves some slack. I think most people have no idea how complicated it is to write books - especially a series of this size - as evidenced by their harshly critical reviews, and seemingly narrow perspectives. Remember, this is FICTION, which requires some capacity to suspend disbelief and tap into IMAGINATION. If you are able to do that, as well as overlook a few (compared to the whole) awkward sentences and somewhat confusing dialogues at times, then this series is truly appealing and entertaining.

I am a big fan of Angela White, but, I think she's become self-indulgent in her last two books. The novels are sci-fi fantasy post-apocalyptic in nature. I believe she self-publishes so, you I cannot ding her for the editing errors. She is still a Spell-binging story-teller and her books are definitely worth the price you pay. Just understand that, especially in book 5, you'll be asking yourself if the author is trying to live her life-long fantasy through the main character (Angela-Angie). The fact that the author shares the same name as the main character tells you something. But in all honesty, I still enjoyed this book and will probably but the next one. Even though it is sci-fi fantasy, you still have to place a lot of honesty into the characters and I do not believe she does that. She takes the characters of men and women and she basically expects us to believe that the new system/government they agree to be part of, makes them adapt to her version of what the new world order should be, ignoring thousands of years of evolution and how they are build through their DNA. It just isn’t believable, even for sci-fi fantasy. If she had drugged or something that could explain how ALL of them (Women and Men included) had such a change of disposition, it would be more believable. Anyway, like I said, her books are still entertaining. For how much longer, I do not know.

In a prior review of the second book in this outstanding series that chronicles the gathering of a growing band of survivors following a worldwide Nuclear disaster I expressed my surprise that the author was a woman. I consider myself to be a "liberated" man and I understand that some women may consider that to be a chauvinistic view. I mean it as a sincere compliment that this is a rare woman who seems to truly understand men and their often childlike ritualistic beliefs.

However, a few typos here and there don't trouble me at all and I hardly ever notice them. But, when the number of editorial glitches interrupts my reading flow so often that it affects my reading enjoyment, I feel compelled to lower my rating. Hopefully, a next edition will clean these up and I'll be able to eliminate the last paragraph from this review.

Not only is there a great deal of evil left that challenge the leader's dreams that are becoming shared by his group but, the men outnumber the women in this group by a four to one ratio, uh oh.

have the first box set and book three was, overall, a good read, although, some things are becoming annoying. For example, it's repetitious in language, descriptions and ideas, the use of 'the herd', too many sex scenes and sometimes confusing. The idea of underage sex is 'ugh' (though, the author did put the idea into context) but if that's the future then humans don't deserve to survive.
Having said that, it's still worth reading because it tackles important issues, however, can humans really change? The most intriguing part for me is the concept of the descendants and what they can do.
It's well written with a great sense of place and certainly different from the usual books of this genre.
Recommended.

Hooked on this Series!
I am so totally hooked on thus apocalyptic series. The characters are real, believable, and have all the hang ups of regular people even when having paranormal powers of varying magnitudes and even those with witches aboard for the ride. Though some folks are almost totally evil... none are perfect... though there are those who seem to come close, but are their motives what they appear? An enthralling series with most volumes spanning 600+ pages! A wonderful read! 5 stars all the way!

This portion of the series takes place in two diverse locations of the world. A bit of foreshadowing of the future keeps you wondering it it could possibly come to be. The reuniting of parent and child occurs for a second time time in the series. The development of 'powers' and women fighting skills brings out an interesting concept in establishing what should be a better world for the future if Save Haven can survive.

Just finished reading Nuclear Ashes and it was great. The characters that were lightly covered in the previous book became featured in Nuclear Ashes. It was a great read and kept me up reading it. Angela has a very unique take on writing and it is refreshing. This series will keep you reading for a long time and you will enjoy it. I would recommend this series for anyone that like the battles that would surely occur in a no law USA.

This Series Is Addictive!
While there are several things that confuse, like electronic supplies readily available or ammunition supplies that never run dry, the storyline is addictive! You wonder what is next and the twists and turns always grab your attention. But the creativity of writing is engrossing, I just can't seem to be able to put down this book. While I have had instances of disbelief in the story I nevertheless keep forging ahead in wonder and intrigue.

Really love this series. The author does have a lot of spelling and grammar errors - but I read the story for the story - I LOVE the characters the story line. Loved seeing the hints of her other series starting to show.... The red eyes, the snake women.... If u haven't read her other series- you must. Angela spins a great tale...

Great second book in the Life After War series! Fast paced, action packed, realistic, scary, hope filled, and more describe this post apocalyptic world! Well thought out and interesting characters, along with a storyline that reads like something I'm witnessing, I'm a fan and recommend this book & series to everyone that's an adult! I'm excited to continue reading to see what happens next.

Thought the 4th book was the weakest of the series. Think the 5th loses a little where everyone starts to develop powers. Would love to read more about other communities/survivors. Less love scenes and more horror regarding the aftermath. Still a brilliant series. Hopefully 6th book is not far away.

Chapter after chapter of gorgeous people not having sex.
I think my title says it all. All the sex was there, but no one was actually doing it. Very little content, just a bunch of people slobbering after each other. The first 3 books were good but 4 was bad and I couldn't even get through this one. Please don't make me suffer through any more.

Amazing
This world is amazing, Angela, Marc, Dog, Adrian, Kenn, Conner, Safe Haven, what an amazing story that is being unfolded for us.
The terror these people must feel, the love, the hope, the greed, the hate…every emotion known to man is here, inside the pages of these books I so look forward to reading.

Horrifying post Apocalyptic life
Life after the Bomb in USA is bleak, sparse, evil and horrifying. But, hey, there is still a tent hair salon for women. I’m torn, I’m ready to have the series end. Too many similar named characters (esp the letter K) to track, but I’d like to know there is a positive ending. Not in a pollyanish way, but in a way that inspires possibilities.

Cool twist to her world, great characters, involving story. Not what I expected. Fantastic Story.

I loved this whole series. I've been able to lose myself in this series and the related series' I also found. I am having trouble waiting on the next book, so the 2 related series' help ease the passage of time.

I stumbled upon this series and read the first 3 in about 2 days! I love this series! I can easily see this becoming a series on HBO or Showtime, as it is that good! I can't wait until book 6! The characters are easy to identify with and the plot is excellent!

These books just get better and better. There are slow points but these are needed to set up the next riveting action sequence. Angela please keep writing this series as they are a absolute joy to read.

I enjoyed this one much more than the last one and I'm excited for the next book. I'm still annoyed with the writing. Besides the tons of errors, the writing is just rough for lack of a better word. It needs some serious editing which made it difficult to read and follow at times.

I have enjoyed this entire series to this point. I don't want to do a spoiler alert, but when you get to the bunnies. THAT is what is the best part of this book. Hilarious, unexpected and this series is worth the read. I loved it!!!

I read 4+ of the books....they were ok enough to keep going, but I just got tired of book after book thinking "when will this ever end?"
I quit reading number 5 in the middle. It just lost my interest. Too many characters kept getting added...not my type of book.
