Anticipation
She knew she was in over her head the moment she saw Them both.
Krista Allen recently became fascinated with BDSM by reading a flurry of romance novels on the subject. Deciding she read enough about it and wanted to experience it for herself, she headed to one of New York’s finest BDSM clubs, hoping to encounter two of the most sought-after Doms. Scott Reed has a submissive specifically picked out for Him by His Mistress but He wants a bit more experience before He turns all of His attention to her. Saint Nick doesn’t have a lot of time to spare between his profession and nurturing His two submissives, Stacey and Whitney. When his good friend from Los Angeles comes out for a favor, Nick is very grateful and advises Scott on his issue with Mariana, his maid. He also returns a favor to Scott for his time as well.
Anticipation is the first D’Amato Brothers/S&M crossover novella. It deals with BDSM, D/s relationships, trust, and commitment issues.
This is the first book in a two-part novella series and the lead-in to the sixth D’Amato Brothers novel, due in 2015.

What Krista knows about the BDSM lifestyle has her curious. Her desire to learn more about The Lifestyle takes her to a BDSM club where two Doms are to attend. These two Doms are well known and highly respected and sought after within the BDSM community and Krista is more than a little excited to see what all of the fuss is about.
To those who are fans of Ms. Roberts work these Doms are very familiar - Saint Nick (Nick D'Amato from the D'Amato Brothers series) and Master Scott (Scott Reed from the S&M series).
Krista quickly learns that what she has heard and seen about The Lifestyle in movies and books is far from what is the truth. Now she needs to determine what it is that she actually wants and where she fits in within the BDSM community if anywhere. Is she truly a sub or is what she really wants just an opportunity to be with one or both of these men?
I suppose we have to wait for the next novella and perhaps the next D'Amato book to get these (and I'm sure more) questions answered. However, I'm sure that just as Ms. Roberts has proven in the past the wait - as painful as it is as we are going through it now - will be WELL worth it!
This novella is a look back in time read for those who follow Ms. Robert's books. The timeline for this story is prior to books where both Scott and Nick began romances/relationships. We are also told that this story is going to be relevant to the next D'Amato series book which has not been released yet. While the first story clearly sets the groundwork for what is bound to happen in the second novella and both of these are a tee up to the next D'Amato brother book it makes you wonder how all of this fits together. Feels like we are laying the groundwork for someone to come back on the scene. The possibilities on who is coming back to and for who and what the repercussions can be are interesting enough to have die hard Vera Roberts fans rocking back and forth, biting nails and muttering to ourselves. (Or maybe that's just me!)
In typical Vera Roberts fashion this story is HAWT! Ms. Roberts has the ability to write toe curling erotica that will have you reaching for a nice, tall, cold drink and sitting in front of a fan. As if that wasn't enough what sets her above the crowd is that she has ability to pair that will a real story. Her characters are real. Flawed. Human. They make mistakes and have successes. Her ability to write in a way that endears you to these characters has you reveling in their successes, crying with them during the pitfalls of their mistakes and ready to take out their enemies for them.
That being said this novella was an appetizer. A small taste to get us interested in the story and ready for the next course. Good enough to have you licking your fingers and looking toward the doors of the kitchen so you can be the first one to the table when the actual meal begins. Happy but still hungry.

A winner for Ms. Vera again. If you love her books, then you will love Anticipation.!! A look back in time for the readers. St.Nick and Master Scott are good friends who have each others back. Krista Allen is fascinated with BDSM romance novels and wonders if this lifestyle is for her? When Krista finds out about New York finest BDSM club, she takes a chance and go to the club in hopes of meeting St. Nick and Master Scott and having a threesome. After meeting Scott, Krista quickly learns that she has a lot to learn. This novella takes place before Nick meets Zerrin Campbell and Scott's roller coaster romance ride with Mariana. Will be looking forward to seeing if Krista has her fantasy with St. Nick and Master Scott.
