Three and a half from me
This is a series that really needs to be read in order as its as if the author is peeling back the layers a little bit more with each book. Essentially it's about shifters and the rivalry that they face from other rogue packs. In this book we catch up with Jax, dragon shifter and so far unclaimed mate of omega wolf Katie. This follows on from the cliffhanger ending in the last book Alpha Bear which saw the sister of the alpha Garret taken prisoner by rogues loyal to Dennis. Yet as this story starts its with a bang as whilst the majority of Garrets pack are out hunting for the missing Anna, a sneaky attack is mounted on the vulnerable that stayed behind. Katie may be an omega but she's not going down without a fight and she steps up to help defend her pack with luckily some help from Jax but it's at a shocking cost.
I really don't wish to say too much more as its a surprisingly engaging series. If honest I'd expected it to just come to a natural conclusion but no the author clearly has other ideas. Yes there's a relationship at stake in this book and it's hard not to want Katie and Jax to somehow find a way but trust isn't always easy. What's very intriguing though is all the scenes involving the rogues who have kidnapped Anna and I have to say I really like that girl. Anna is a delight, full of gumption and determined to escape but it's getting more complicated with each book!
I didn't always agree with how the central romance happened but because I was surprised by certain things I'd happily read more in this series

AWESOME BOOK! DEFINITELY DESERVES MORE THAN 5 STARS. I GIVE IT 1000!!!!.
“Alpha” was very first book I read by Mandy Rosko, and I have been reading her books ever since. She is an AWESOME paranormal romance author. “Alpha Dragon” is the third book in the Alpha Bites series. I am sure that many other readers, as well as myself thought this was going to be the last book in the series. Boy, was we wrong!!! Mandy pulled a good one on us. She had us on the edge of our seats, and then BAM…the book ended with a cliffhanger. It was the way she ended the book that had me all strung out. That is one of many signs of a very good author/writer. Plus, I can’t forget the shock she had in store for us in “Alpha Dragon” pertaining to Garrett’s sister. Now I did not see that one coming. Can’t tell you because it is a spoiler. You are going to have to read this book. She also explains the story behind Jax and Katie’s mating. To me this is the best book in the series so far.

Katie is a wolf shifter and an Omega. Though most of the time she acts as though she is a beta. Even though she is still carrying the dark scars of her past with her she is a strong person who pretty much stays to herself, and she even has put distance between her and her mate Jax. When Kate shares a night of passionate healing with Jax she unleashes his dragon and now Jax is wanting more. He has always kept his distance from her except when she needed him and now he can’t keep his distance from her. It is even harder for him to keep his distance with Katie’s ghost from her past making constant trouble for the pack. Will Jax and Katie be able to put her past scars to rest and have the type of relationship Jax wants? Or will Jax give up and let Katie have her freedom?

I voluntarily read a free copy. This book was AWESOME. We learned more about Katie's past. We learned about her and Jax's relationship. Will they finally figure it out? Will they find Dennis and Anna in time? What will happen next? Will Dennis get his pack back? Will Garret kill Dennis?

Book 3 picks up right where book 2 left off, Anna the Alpha's baby sister has been kidnapped by the rogues and Garrett is going nuts trying to find her. This story is really Jax and Katie's coming to "Jesus" meeting. Meaning they either need to mate and all it entails, or Jax needs to back away, maybe even leave the clan, because he can't take seeing Katie hurting anymore. Katie on the other hand wants to smack some sense into Jax, she's not a scared, injured little girl anymore, yes , she will always remember the kidnapping and rape she went thru, but she no longer wants it to define who she is as a person, she's not just a broken omega wolf and Jax needs to wake up and smell the coffee !! She wants him and she wants him in her bed as her mate with all the hot sex it entails !! This book starts off at a fast pace and never slows down !! There is more than one " oh shit" moment as we see Anna and the head rogue start fighting their attraction for each other and it's really going to hit the fan in book 4 ( I hope) when her brother Garrett realizes what's going on !!. If you like paranormal romance and Rollercoaster rides, this is the perfect book for you !! 4☆'s. But be prepared, she leaves us with a cliffhanger, mean old writer that she is [ not really, she's young and nice, but she did leave us with a cliffhanger, darnot it all ].

I've read other books by Mandy and I like her style of writing. I enjoyed this book, but I found the relationship between Jax and Katie rather boring, they seemed to keep having more or less the same conversation over and over. Having said that, the rest of the book was much more interesting. Pack wars and infighting, kidnapping etc. It's hard to review this one without giving spoilers but the story line involving Anna is totally gripping. Definitely going to read the next one.

I voluntarily received and reviewed a free copy of this book.... This was an exceptionally written and amazing reading experience. There's so much going on that I remained immersed in this story. I love the couples, although I didn't like Katie very much, but I'm so excited to know what happens with Dennis and Anna. I'm on pins and needles waiting for the next book. This was definitely action packed, steamy and creative. I love this series! :)

Cliffhanger alert !!
Normally I don't mind but when the next part isn't available it highly sucks. This one got to learn more about what happened to Katie and Her finally opening up to jax. 50yrs later, holy crap. Better late than never I suppose. All I want to know now tho is what happens with Anna and Dennis.

Jax/Katie
I didn't enjoy this installment as much as the previous ones., because I just could not connected with the main female character. Katie felt really standoffish or unfeeling to me. I especially didn't like the way she treated Miranda and Lois. It felt like she was torturing Jax at times so I spent most of the book feeling sorry for him.
I loved the interaction between Dennis and Anna. It was helpful to have some of the backstory explained and it actually started redeeming Dennis for me.
Yet another cliffhanger, but looks like a bit of a wait for the next one. I'm looking forward to the next installment which I hope is about Dennis and Anna.

Jackson Knight returned to the pack while Garret continued the search for his sister, Anna. All of the trackers had an uneasy feeling. On the way back, Jax was attacked and felt a burn on his dragon back before he became woozy and saw the rogues walking toward him laughing.
In the meantime, the rest of the pack was under attack. The Betas were firing guns from the attic windows. Katie, an Omega with good shooting skills, and other Omegas were reloading the guns so they could keep firing on the alpha rogues. When a Beta gunman was wounded, she moved into position and took down the shooter. A huge alpha scaled the building and pulled a Beta out the window by the arm. Katie followed, shooting at the monster. It turned around and charged her and, as she fired, her empty gun clicked uselessly. As the monster leaped, a brown dragon appeared and snatched him up in its jaws. Jax shifted back, covered in blood – his own blood, not the wolf’s -- and fell unconscious to the ground.
Anna, kidnapped by the rogues, captive in the enemy’s camp, still tried to escape. She pickpocketed Dennis’ keys and took the silver chains off her leg. She tried to sneak out of her prison, but Dennis was keeping watch and they fought. She was recaptured and returned to the locked room. Would her pack ever find her and free her? And why did she feel so strange around Dennis?
This was a really good book. I must say that although I respected Katie’s skills with guns, she really irritated me in the way she treated Jax, and even the two women (Lois and Miranda). She was stubborn and unreasonable many times. When Jax gave up and walked away to split from her, I was cheering inside because he was too nice a guy to be hurting like he was over her punishing treatment which he totally did not deserve. Unfortunately, I knew she would jerk him back again. But it’s a great author with wonderful writing skills who can make you feel like that. And the rest of their story more than made up for this. I highly recommend this book. For that sweet dragon alone, it’s worth the reading!

Although I've read several novellas, this is the first full length book that I've read by Mandy Rosko. I found it an absolutely amazing good read. I find that most books in the romance genre fall into one of two categories. The first group has a bland plot mixed in with a huge dose of G rated angst describing how the woman feels about the guy. The second group has a bland plot mixed in with reams of pages describing the mechanics of various R rated sex scenes. This is something totally different.
The biggest difference is that the book contains graphic uncensored sex scenes that DON'T drag on, mixed in with an excellent dose of romantic angst, woven around an epic save-the-world plot that keeps you reading to find out what happens next. There is nothing bland about this plot.
The main and secondary characters in this book are real. They each have their own passions, desires, flaws and lives to live. Many of them are very passionate about what they believe in, whether it is loving their mate, protecting their clan or killing their enemies. Mixed in with this battle of good versus evil is the story of the romance of the main female and male protagonists, and how their romance matures and blossoms over the course of the epic battle occurring throughout the book.
If this isn't enough, by the end of the novel you suddenly realize that all of the recent chapters have covered the blossoming romance of two other characters that wasn't supposed to happen, that the bad guy has become the good guy, that the good guy is on an unwarranted rampage to wipe out the "bad" guys, and then it ends with an awesome CLIFF HANGER that leaves you aching for the next novel to come out. Good marketing technique but AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!
I guess I will have to settle for reading some of the two dozen other books this USA TODAY BESTSELLING author has written while I wait for the next Alpha Bytes book to be published.

Jax and Katie are mates but Katie has denied the bond for many years due to her past. She is a wolf shifter and has just been living day to day and not truly enjoying life since a horrible attack over 50 years ago. Jax is a dragon shifter and has been very patient but is now reaching the end of that patience. With more deadly battles, Katie is finally realizing just how much she cares about Jax. Is there still time for them?
Katie and Jax both deserve better than all these years without acting on the mating bond. They have missed out on so much. Katie has avoided any personal relationship even knowing that Jax would never hurt her. Jax is so kind and considerate and has tried so hard to protect Katie from pain. When she decides to take a risk, she really goes for it. I loved seeing them bond.
It is a great series and I have really enjoyed each book. Katie's story is really sad and is the basis of the conflict that has caused the battles with the other shifters. I highly recommend you read the series in order. The story may focus on one couple primarily but other characters in the series have a big role too and the story alternates between two main storylines in this book.. Be aware that each book ends with a major cliff-hanger.

Jax has pined over Katie for the longest time. She is his mate but an aweful thing in her past prevents them from being together. When Jax comes back heavily injured from a mission to rescue Ana from Dennis' pack, Katie has to help him heal. She wants to heal too, she just doesn't know how to. Together, in the middle of a war between packs, will they overcome all their obstacles. Meanwhile, Dennis has Anna captive and Garret is out of his mind knowing that she is with his enemy and a pack of rapists. His pack was attacked by Dennis' men but before they got away they captures one of his Betas. He is a pretty important member and they will use him to get to Anna. This third book of the series is well written and it can be read as a standalone. There are enough explanations from the author from previous stories. I like the way Jax is so understanding even when every Alpha instinct tells him to take what is his. Katie needs to be stronger on the inside and it took her more than enough time... at last!! Now, I can't wait what's in store for Dennis!!

Third book in the Alpha Bites series this was a little different than the other two but this series is just getting better can not wait for the next one. I have liked Jackson Knight ( Jax ) a dragon shifter since the series first started. On Jax’s way back to the pack he is attacked by rogues and they do damage to his back which causes him to become dazed, the rouges walk away laughing what have they done? He is able to make it back to the pack but it is under attack and Katie has been captured by one of them Jax in his dragon form saves Katie and then passes out . Will Jax recover? Will Katie get over what happened in her past ,so she can be with Jax? Will they recover Anna who is still in Dennis’ hands? This is a series that must be read in order so you know what is happening!

I've read plenty of Mandy Rosko's stories, but the "Alpha Bites” series is probably my favorite of hers. I love the alpha males and their equally awesome mates. I really enjoy shifter stories, and the action and romance of this series gets me every time. In Alpha Dragon, we finally get to learn more about the relationship between dragon-shifter, Jax, and the object of his affection, wolf-shifter, Katie. Their relationship had been on ice for a long time, and seeing them work through their issues was something I had personally been waiting for. Also in the meantime, we get more information about Anna and her kidnapper, Dennis – as well as the curveball alluded to at the end of book 2. I can’t wait to see what the next book in the series has in store!

Another great book for the series. I highly suggest starting at the beginning of the series to avoid spoilers.
The book has a few different types of shifters. In the main pack of the book there are wolves, a dragon, a bear and a few more including a human. But the type of shifter doesn't seem to matter in rankings. There are alphas , betas and omegas. The story is about the pack and a rival pack made up of what used to be rogues. There is a lot of violence and some somewhat steamy scenes. So suggest for mature readers.
If you enjoy shifter romances, you will want to read this series.

I received this ARC book free in exchange for a voluntary honest review. Wonderful book and series, it just keeps getting better and better. I cannot wait until Alpha Wolf. This book will leave you hanging on by a thread . Katie and Jax are wonderful together. Jax waiting patiently for Katie while Katie works through terrible and tragic issues from her past. And Dennis shows another side of him that may not be so evil while holding Anna hostage. This book twists what you know about the history of both packs and leaves you craving for more.

Good story line. With Katie having a difficult past, she is unable to get through it enough to let her allow Jax in. Jax is a patient man/ dragon. He has stayed waiting for his mate to accept him for decades. When he gets injured badly, Katie knows he will heal much better and faster with her near. She holds his hand through the worse part. However, this tenderness only pushes Jax to make a decision. I found the attraction to be heated and interesting. I was engrossed in the battle scenes. I read this quickly as it kept me interested.

Jax is a dragon shifter and an Alpha. He is one of three alphas in this mixed pack. He stays with them because his mate is part of them.
Katie is a wolf shifter and an omega. She knows Jax is her mate, but because of a traumatic past she cannot accept him.
This is the third in a series that must be read in order. Although each book has it's own HEA they link together in the complete story.

What an awesome read revolving around our fabulous dragon shifters! This action packed book offers you a variety of paranormals but the storyline centers around Jax and Katie and the turmoils in the way of a relationship between them. This writer once again skillfully engages your emotions through her main characters' journey. A very satisfying read for PNR fans! This voluntary review is based against an advance copy.

Absolutely awesome :-) I love her writing, she always has a good strong story with strong characters that you can picture in your head while reading. Jax and Katie are perfect for each other, Jax standing by Katie waiting for her to be able to give herself to him as his mate and Katie finally letting the past go and trusting that Jax would never hurt her is perfect. seeing a new side to Dennis is amazing as well. I cant wait to read the next in this series :-)

I have read all the books in the series and I couldn't wait for this one to come out, and it didn't disappoint, it was well worth the wait. This has been my favourite book so far, it is fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat through out the book, but it also has some intense moments with Katie (our apha's mate) dealing with past trauma and learning that she is far stronger than she believed she could be. Another great read that leaves you wanting more.

Once again a brilliant read from this author. I loved the way this book drew you in and took you for a ride. Jax is a dragon shifter and has known that Katie is his mate for a long time.
Katie had been through some bad stuff and didn't want Jax. There's Romance and trouble with Garrett the Alpha still looking for his sister Anne.

This is Jax's story. Jax has known who is mate is for a while. The problem is that she has been through a major trama. Katie knows she has to decide if she can become the mate that Jax needs or let him go. There is still the story of Garrett's sister going on but there is an HEA for her as well.

Good story I liked it. The characters were fun and engaging. The dialogue witty and the world building realistic. I recommend it.

Arc review For honest review. Jackson and katie have been circling each other for years but now they can't fight it any longer this story is of love that grows and learns. Very good.
