Yuna is a fairly ordinary girl from an ordinary town. When she became friends with the dark and mysterious Luther in their youth, it was more from curiosity than any real allure.
Recently, however, the young woman has found herself longing for the nights in which he returns to her after his mysteriously monthly trips. Despite all the secrets he keeps and his disappearances, she's never been more interested in, or confused by a man.
His sudden departure after an intimate encounter, however, sends her on a journey to discover the true nature of Luther and his family - and lands her in danger she never could have imagined.
Really was a tale of struggle. Internal struggle with responsibilities and external with family. The basics... there is a werewolf (those words weren't said by the creatures themselves, so by the description given in the book, I am thinking more lycan) in love with a human. This is only discovered after a lifetime platonic relationship. When duty calls the werewolf back home to his family, his human companion follows to demand closure.
There is all sorts of family drama that comes after that, a lot of blood and gore, some detailed steamy sex (which I am not opposed to), and juicy family secrets. The sex scenes aren't overdone and don't cover the book from start to finish. They are weaved in at monumental points in the story. I am excited to see the drama that will unfold in the next book after the whammy that was revealed at the end of this one.
You should definitely buy it (if you're an adult of course). It's fast, fun, hot, paranormal and romantic. Happy Reading:)
The story was interesting and sweet. The turn off and why I gave this 3 stars rating was the awful way the author transition between 2nd person to 3rd person. The description "the young woman said" after having the heroine being described. That was so distracting. It goes from she blah blah says to the young woman. Please just remove that use of sentence. Other than that it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, I can't stomach reading the same dialogue on the other books so I am not following the series. Can't really recommend this book because of this. Sorry...
This was a pretty good read. The first half was a little slow but things picked up as the story progressed. if you're bothered by sex between the couple while the man is between transforming, fighting transforming, or using his claws in the process of doing the deed, proceed with caution. The story ends on a very predictable cliff hanger. 3.5 stars. I'm compelled enough to read the next installment.
Really enjoyed this book. Luther fancy tuna and visa versa but he.know he needs to leave before she finds out who he is but after a night of passion he leaves and tuna not happy. Looks for him find why he left but upon discovering him she discovers his secret. He mates her and seal a fate that she has to fight for her life and in present of the elders discovers something. To find out what happens read the book.
For a quick read I 100% recommend this book. Make sure you get the second one. Yuna is the woman you just know would have stolen the heat of everyone. She gave herself willingly. She wasn't willing to give up on the friendship that spanned years. Luther just wow just wow. He Feel in love at an early age and just always made it a point to she her that she was his. I felt happy, love, passion, hated, awwww, and just dumbstruck.
This is no a book it is 1/3 of a book. The three books in this series could have easily been made into one really good book but now I cant even give it a star because we are all left hanging as the story and the plot are incomplete
The storyline wasn't that original but I did like the author's style of writing. It was kind of fairy tale-ish and this is what initially drew me in. The wolves of this series are more similar to the old school wolf man but otherwise it is an okay read. Overall 3.5 rating.
The first half of the book was really slow. It was informative and I like the back story but i t was slow paced. However the second half was really good. It ends at a great spot for the next book in the series
