Decent book. Technically second book in the series about three friends. I have not yet read the first one, but plan to soon. I liked the characters, but I didn't always get their motivations, like why they wanted to be secret sleuths. Lorna, Brittan, and Heather make up a group called "The Rose" who bring crime to justice and that sort of thing. It is almost like a hobby to them, but how do you decide to do investigations as a hobby? I think reading the first book might help remedy that problem for me though. Not a really suspenseful mystery type book if you ask me, but a good book all the same.

Lorna (a 24 year old rich former tennis player) meets Michael, (the handsome young new mayor) at a party in his honor. Reluctantly Lorna gives Michael her phone number. Michael remembers Lorna from when she was in the news for being a pro tennis player, and liked her back then. Both Michael and Lorna have had bad relationships in the past but they begin to fall for one another.

Trent, a friend of Micheal's from school is a pastor, but he is accused of not only viewing but also distributing child porn. Trent is innocent and those who know him best never doubt his character, but proving him innocent means catching the real culprits and getting them to confess. "The Rose" privately decides to take on the case. Trent's wife had originally gone out with and gotten engaged to Micheal, so when she ended up marrying Trent, Micheal was hurt. That combined with Lorna's history with men, Brittan and Heather decide to investigate Michael behind Lorna's back.

Cute story, but total fluff. It's decent Christian fiction, though.

Much like Heather the writing in this book is nothing to write home about but the story is cute. I love a fast romance (with mystery on the side) every now and then. Fun little read.

Very light yet enjoyable enough. Reminiscent of the Nancy Drew books I read as a kid.

I liked Heather better, only because this one was a little too mushy, but it was cute and I'd recommend it to others for the most part.
