I LOVED IT!!! Ben and Tuesday are the most adorable pair in the entire fictional universe.
I don't have enough words to convey much i freaking loved this story.
I captivated by these two from beginning to end. I just couldn't put it down and I had a smile on my face the entire time, well except the times i had to sniffle a tear or two.

Overall this was an excellent fake dating billionaire romance filled with witty banter, heartfelt and swoony moments, British aristocracy, and a journey of healing and self discovery.

This is definitely a new comfort read and one i will be rereading for ages.

One thing I love the most about Bay’s stories is that she creates the best male lead characters. This story is a perfect example.

The main lead character is British, dry with such a low-key wit that it really takes secondary characters to connect and understand him.

The female lead is a great balance, and the running joke in here is that he is a doppelgänger for a very famous person that she used to have a crush on when she was a teen. Effervescent and exuberant, she balances out his dry English character perfectly.

Bay takes us on a trip through England to see the cultured and almost royal people of England. The Duchess and Duke, as secondary characters, were wonderfully depicted in this slow-burning, fake fiancé trope.

I love the public depiction of our male lead, but behind the scenes, he is on fire for her. While she is learning to love and trust herself, she is also learning that Ben is the perfect offset for her humor and happiness. That ending got to me! Sigh…

An American in London is sweet, maybe a tad sappy, but a feel-good, steamy story that will leave a smile on your face. The only part I hated was that the “celebrity” in the story was overdone! But I still loved it on all other levels!!

I devoured this book — it was exactly what my heart needed right now. Sweet, swoony, and just the right touch of spice. Every character brought something to the table, and I found myself smiling through so many scenes.

The story follows Tuesday, whose life is a bit of a beautiful mess. Her fiancé dumped her for someone else, her career is hanging by a thread, and she’s still navigating the grief of losing her mom. In a last-ditch effort to save her job, she heads to London to impress a major client — and fate throws her into the path of grumpy billionaire Ben, who just so happens to look exactly like her celebrity crush.

I'm completely blown away by how great Louise Bay's An American in London is! An unapologetic mélange of every trope under the sun, and the MCs joke about it the whole way through. I loved the fun, the romance, the humor, and the fascinating characters.

Louise Bay writes beautifully, and they paint such vivid pictures of the London sites and the English people. From the slightly abrasive barista to the stuffy Duke with a huge soft spot for his vivacious Dutchess, Bay nails these characters and makes the whole novel come alive.

Told from Tuesday's point of view, we really get to know her and I was genuinely plugging for her happily ever after in life and love!

The audio version of An American in London is beautifully performed by Erin Mallon who really had her plate full with this extensive cast! Whan an excellent job they did on this book.

Talk about a cute vacation romance with travel vibes! This one was easy to pick up and read in one sitting. I did half eyeball reading and half audio for this one and Erin Mallon did a fanatic job narrating this book. I think I connected so easy with Tuesday because of her performance!

And this book was adorable… it reminded me of a movie! Tuesday and Ben were so good together. He’s the grumpy British Billionaire and she’s the American in town for work. They meet when she mistakes him for her favorite actor (the whole thing gives me 00s Hugh Grant vibes) and follows him in a park.

In a twist, Ben needs a fake fiancée and their accidental run ins give him a perfect personal to ask for help!

I love how Tuesday was really trying to find herself after a bad break up and Ben was there to help her figure out who she was and make her fall for him. I love how Ben was so grumpy on the begining but did all these sweet things to show her he cared.

The whole book just made me smile. It leaned into “tropes” too as Ben and Tuesday joked about movies and her favorite actor. This is an easy, low spice read perfect for a summer reading list.

Okay, so I *read* this story one and *listened* twice in the last 2 months because … swooooooonfest (lol) plus, I really love 🩷🎙️Erin Mallon🎙️🩷 and 💙✍️Louise Bay✍️💙 so it was no hardship! #winning (Thank you, Montlake (Amazon Publishing) and Brilliance Publishing for the ARC & ALC) :)

You guys, Louise Bay makes me happy. I know I’ve said a bunch of other times but now I’m adding something more lol. She makes me happy not just because her stories make me swoon and smile, but because I’ve been reading/listening to her stories since the wheel was square and she has grown her craft as the years progressed, but I can still go way back to one of her first books and feel the same love I do today. LISTEN, that’s rare. Everyone grows and everyone goes through stages in their life and sometimes what “was” is not the same in the “now”. Totally normal, but with Louise, what “was” is the “now” as well and that just makes me happy.

But I digress LOL Lets’ talk about An American in London specifically! Well, I’ve already told you it was a complete swoonfest for me, so there’s that. It’s a “happy” story. It’s sweet with just the right amount of sexy. It’s entertaining, heartfelt and heartwarming. I liked the storyline “almost” all the time, but those “almost” aren’t significant enough to talk about in detail. If you’re looking for a sweet, feel good romance, here you are!

I'm finding it so hard to begin reviewing this book because even if I'm writing this I'm filled with so much emotions this book has given me.

this is just the perfect book I needed to be happy, crying and feeling emotional while being absolutely falling for someone.

- what's the story about:-
Tuesday came to London to save his job in the bank she's working for. since she's new to London and knows no-one around rather, meets a guy at the coffee shop and turns out on his 3rd meet with the guy the guy offers to join her for the dinner with his friend.

our MMC Ben who's a billionaire, is wanting to expand his business and trying to get his hands on one particular hotel for which he needs a fake fiance so that he can convince the owner he's a good match for it.

as it turns out Tuesday ( FMC) first refused but later agreed to be his fake fiance because she's in London for four weeks only and she just wants to have the most of it.

as the fake fiance weekend started they realised nothing is going to be fake between them.

ben doing is absolute best to make him happy, getting her flowers, recreating a scene from the movie she like, even watching the movies with her.

eventually it has to end because she's going back to newyork and he's business is in London.

but the day when she should be taking the flight to newyork she ditched it and ran towards ben confronting her feelings and they gets their happy ever after.

- my personal opinion:-
I'm completely in love with book, so much that it's gonna be added to my favourite list.
the only thing which keeping me to give it a 5star is i think the FMC profession was not as deeply explained as it should be. also I would've enjoyed it a bit more if there more activities include between them I Mean as couple activites. and one more thing I wanted it to have a dual pov because why not I'm super interested in knowing ben side of the story too.

otherwise everything was great even super great. I'm definitely gonna try reading more of Louise's writing. cuz this is so well written I don't have any complaints regarding the language and plot.

just I wanted more of character building but yeah I enjoyed and that's all it matters.

I’ve been looking forward to this ever since I finished Love Fast by this author. Now that I’ve finished it, I’m disappointed I didn’t like this more. Throughout the book I kept going back and forth between a 3 and a 4, ultimately settling on a 3. This wasn’t what I was expecting at all. First off, the book starts with Tuesday reminiscing about her and her mom’s obsession with Daniel De Luca and the book has this theme about him throughout the story. He’s the man Tuesday falls back on and pictures as this ideal, guy and sets him on a pedestal. I know that feeling all too well and can confidently say I still feel that way about some actors I indulge in today that I have thought about being with. This is is where I thought the story would take it further and make him be the hero in this story and who Tuesday actually falls in love with instead of ending up with Ben which isn’t to say that was a bad thing. I just wish the book went in that direction because how perfect would it be if Tuesday falls in love with her celebrity crush. When Tuesday bumps into Ben at a key filming place that Daniel De Luca was and mistakes him for Daniel, that’s when I got excited and thought it would go in that direction. Imagine my surprise when it ends up being Ben and Tuesday winds up having this attraction and curiosity with him. The fact that he looked like Daniel and then they made it not be was kind of disappointing. It’s not that I didn’t like Ben, I just wish it could have played with that storyline. Then to make this even more disappointing the book is entirely in Tuesday’s point of view. I feel like I got half a story with this. I had no idea what Ben was thinking, where his head was at or even if he was intrigued by Tuesday like she for him. It didn’t help that he was frosty with her and didn’t even want to give her the time of day throughout most of the book was also disappointing. You just couldn’t read him and in the scenes when Tuesday and him are together they just dance around questions, feelings and instincts. No one knows how to say what’s on their mind and it winds up being a guessing game. Then there was Ben’s dry sense of humor that just felt like he was annoyed and pissed all the time. His personality and behavior is deciphered by Tuesday and again, we as the readers have to sit there and guess what’s on Ben’s mind and it got to be exhausting. I don’t like having to guess what the hero is thinking and how he feels. It just makes me analyze the book when all I want is to sit there and enjoy some smut, romantic gestures and pretend it’s me in the book and what I would do in the heroine’s situations. I felt like I was thinking too much in this book trying to understand Ben. Then there was parts I did like which included summaries of scenes in movies that Tuesday thought about when she went to different places in London where Daniel’s movies took place and the scenes that unfolded in them. At some point in the book I figured out Tuesday was starring in her own romance because of gestures Ben did or things he would say, plus the locations they went to and what happened in them. It was like reading a romantic comedy and watching it unfold in pages rather than camera shots and angles as well as dialogue. I liked this aspect of the book, because it didn’t feel like a book. It literally felt like I was watching a romantic comedy but without the visual. I appreciated that it was different in this case. I just wish the storyline went a bit different and there was a break from Tuesday’s thoughts and questions. She was really questioning and overthinking everything with Ben and I was right there with her. She would have these internal monologues that did nothing for the plot but instead left me with the same questions, all because we don’t get Ben’s point of view. My thoughts became just as jumbled as hers and I wanted the straightforwardness I’m used to in books and with the second point of view. It adds dynamic and depth to the story. Then there was the slow burn aspect and you all know how I feel about those unless written properly. While it wasn’t painfully long, since the book is pretty short, it did drag and I got bored at times. When they finally sleep together it felt anticlimactic. There wasn’t any big, heated, declarations or dragging out the moment to let the scene simmer. It just happened and boom, it was over. I wanted the details, the orgasms, the tender touches and the carnal words and descriptions. This was missing in the book, further bringing this rating down for me and emphasizing that I want the smut even if it’s for one chapter. I can live with that. I just am disappointed all around with this book and basically left feeling like it was ok and unsatisfying. This is too bad because I really enjoy Louise’s books and I guess this one is one of those where an author tries something different and it doesn’t work out the way you expect. I’m still a fan though and glad I checked this one out.

I loved this book with its two brilliant characters Ben and Tuesday plus a great supporting cast, sparkling dialogue and a heart warming fast paced story.
Tuesday has had a tough time now in London she has to prove herself to her employers in a New York Wall Street bank by working with a new CEO. As well as this her boyfriend of 10 years has run off with a ballerina.
The first meeting between her and billionaire Ben is really amusing and the story continues with taciturn Ben needing Tuesday’s help with a deal he is trying to make with a Duke.
Their relationship gathers momentum and is wonderfully described with lovely emotional moments.
A throughly heartwarming romance that leaves you feeling upbeat and happy.

My first Louise Bay novel. I liked this a lot. I was originally drawn to the story b/c I'm a sucker for a story with an American and a Brit. I really liked both Tuesday and Ben, both separately and together. Although I found the Daniel DeLuca thing a bit irritating after awhile, it was integral to the story. and I loved the meet-cute. Overall, this was a quick light read.

This story follows Tuesday, whose life is falling apart back in the States. Her ex-fiancé ran off with a ballerina, and her workplace is on the brink of significant change. She’s been sent to London for a fast-track management program to hold and secure her position at the bank. When she arrives, she stays at a hotel that happens to be hosting a famous actor convention. What happens when she accidentally mistakes a stranger for the actor?

This was such a fun read—and the audiobook was great too. I really enjoyed the grumpy-sunshine dynamic between the characters. Ben was a closed-off aristocrat, while the FMC was lively, constantly teasing him and getting under his skin. But eventually, he couldn’t resist her charm. I loved the reason behind his interest in buying the hotel and how he slowly opened up to Tuesday. The way he kept calling her different days of the week to tease and his way of flirting I loved. I appreciated the slow burn and the grand gesture at the end. Another great story from Louise!

Tuesday’s world has collapsed back home, yet her trip to London opens a door she never expected. A crowded hotel, an accidental mix-up and suddenly she is face to face with Ben, whose reserved nature melts slowly under her lighthearted charm. Their dynamic feels vibrant and full of promise. His playful calling her different days of the week and his gradual vulnerability made the slow burn especially enjoyable, and the final gesture wrapped their story in a tender finish.

That being said, I still wished the audiobook offered both a female and a male voice. While Erin Mallon is one of my absolute favorite narrators and did a tremendous job, the single narration still took some of the experience away from me, seeing as dual/duet narration seems to be gold standard nowadays.

A great romance

Ben and Tuesdays romance is a slow burn making this read all the better for that. Coming to London from New York to save her job, then meeting Ben who’s a look alike of one of her teenage film star crushes was something Tuesday would never have believed possible. She has spent her life fulfilling other people’s needs after her Mother died but is determined to finally choose what she wants.

Billionaire Ben Kelley was introverted with a dash of surly for good measure. Blessed with doppelganger movie star good looks Ben kept to himself and gave new meaning to the strong silent type. Yet behind his outer facade was a vulnerable man who craved love and guarded his heart.

American Tuesday Reynolds was the eternal optimist. Yes she had experienced bad things in life but this character kept looking forward. Her outgoing charm in the end was irresistible and she stood out as the kind of character that you rooted for.

Ben and Tuesday were such an unlikely couple but upon closer examination they were perfectly matched. Ben's protectiveness toward Tuesday was lovely and Tuesday intuitive understanding and caring for Ben felt genuine and upped this relationship. There was a nice balance of give and take with this pair and their willingness to put the other first was sweet.

An American in London was a slow burn with lots of witty exchanges. The opposites attract vibe built up from a simmer to a flame for some memorable moments and lots of feels interspersed with comparisons to the heroine's movie star crush's movie scenarios. Ben and Tuesday's love story was fun to see build up into a real life romance that did not end with cut!

Louise Bay has a knack for creating just the right pairings of her characters. She sees beyond her portrayals superficial traits and gets to what makes them tick for the kind of romance stories that readers crave. Louise Bay's An American In London hit the spot and then some for a great romance to get caught up in!

I had the awesome pleasure of being able to read the book and listen to the audio book of this story. This was a really great audio book narrated by Erin Mallon. Reading Louise Bay's books are always a delight but listening to the Audio book is a very special treat! This was a new narrator for me but I enjoyed their voice very much and they did such a great job of making the story come to life. The plot is very engaging. Tuesday is a young woman whose college boyfriend has just left her and now her job is in jeopardy. But when she meets Ben, a very attractive man with Hollywood looks, things really get wild. He is in need of a fake fiancée to impress a duke and duchess. This romcom is so entertaining and the banter between Tuesday and Ben is so good. I definitely suggest listening to this one or reading the book.

What a charming story! It had all the Bridgerton vibes with a modern setting. The story follows Tuesday Reynolds, who travels to London to salvage her job in NYC. There, she crosses paths with the grumpy and reserved Ben Kelley. Ben proposes a plan: Tuesday will pose as his fake fiancée to help him impress a Duke and Duchess in return she gets more money than she can think of. Their relationship starts off as strictly platonic, but as they get to know each other better, feelings begin to develop.

𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 has a fun personality, her optimism is refreshing. Ben, on the other hand, finds her positive energy annoying at first but with enough time he realizes she actually brightens his life. Together, they make an adorable pair!

🎧I loved the audio version. 𝐄𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐧 deserves high praise for her fantastic solo performance. She has impeccable comedic timing. She perfectly captured the essence of our cheerful Tuesday and the grumpy Ben.

This was a nice little sweet romance and I love a fake fiance trope so much!! This book set in England was very movie-esque!! A little love story that each day modeled the many romances of a doppelganger actor in his movies. Which was an interesting little twist on dating. Throw in the lovely Duke and Dutchess and it made for a dreamy little story!! I'm surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did given the fact that Ben had almost no game whatsoever! No real Banter at all, but Tuesday made up for it with all her loveliness!!

Talk about a whirlwind trip and events! With only a month to be in London, what can happen? Only fate will tell, hold on for a wild ride and a HEA! Loved ❤️ this story!

I loved this audiobook so much! And I usually don’t like slow burn romances, but what can I say?—I’m weak for a British man. The story made me feel like I was living on a fanfiction romance, but in the best possible way. If you’re a fan of rom-coms and Bridgerton-style drama, you will definitely enjoy this book.

Louise Bay has done it again—and if you’re anything like me and LIVE for tropes like forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, and a slow burn, then An American in London needs to be on your radar immediately. I pulled an almost all-nighter to finish this 💫

Tuesday and Ben - ugh such a good pairing! They’re so cute with their banter. I was going to include some quotes but I didn’t want to give any spoilers away (but *swoon).

As a longtime Louise Bay fan, I can confidently say this one will not disappoint. Hit that pre-order button ASAP!

Even if it leaned a little cheesy and totally unrealistic, this story had my hopeless romantic heart doing cartwheels. Imagine Notting Hill meets Pretty Woman (minus the sex work). I’ll be swooning over Ben and his charmingly dry British wit for a very long time.

Thank you @NetGalley for the ALC. The narrators for this book were wonderful. Tuesday is off to London to get away from her ex-fiance, the loss of her apartment and job worries. Ben is looking to buy a hotel and the seller does not want to sell to a single man. So a chance meeting at a coffee shop and a park and a hotel bar, he ask Tuesday to be his fake fiance. I don't want to spoil anything, but this story was so much fun to read and the banter was wonderful.
