The story revolves around 2040s era where Earth is nearly reduced to rubbles and plagues brought about by effects of global warming, weaponization and biological warfare organized by Everlasting Caliphate, a formidable network of Islamic terrorists. 6 aliens from different multi-verse like Beta-Earth, Ceraphin-Earth and Alpha-Earth landed on Jamaica during 2040 to understand the situation in the planet. A one-of-a-kind spaceship landing on Alpha Earth with the aliens looking like humans threw a lot of possibilities and hopes that there are different Earths in parallel universe with their own set of unique lifestyles, beliefs, and superstitions. A news of this magnitude is bound to spread across Earth with Jamaicans already capturing the spaceship landing via their phones.

Then starts the man-hunt to nab the aliens and find out more about different multiverse. This man-hunt leads the aliens to run for their lives and save themselves, taking them through different countries and places on Earth.

Pros:
1) The possibility and the construction of the storyline surrounding the concept of parallel Earth and multiverse have been done in a very interesting and gripping manner.

2) The decimation of Planet Earth by 2040 due to environmental and man-made factors have been elucidated well giving rise to the context of the plotline.

3) There is a character-glossary in the beginning of the book which gives the readers an idea about the what kind of characters they can expect and their origin. I found it to be pretty helpful and well-thought of by the author.

4) All the characters have rich background with a unique history and a backstory which I found to be fascinating.

Cons:
1) The plot got a bit verbose at times with too much explanation and description which made me skip pages from time to time. The plotline is gripping but the information which pops up from time to time became a bit overwhelming for me.

All in all, the author did a great job in penning down this science fiction and I highly recommend this book to all the sci-fi lovers.

𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐓𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚: 𝐀 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬

by 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧

🪐This is an amusing and thrilling standalone addition to the Beta - Earth Chronicles sci fi series which revolves around the future period of 2040 Alpha Earth. It promptly paints a scenario of the Earth at that time as a mere piece of a devastated chunk due to the effects of plague, global warming and biological warfares.

☄️So basically what happens in the story is that some of the aliens from multi verse planets landed on our earth to look into the detoriating situation of the planet but the news of their arrival spreads like fire in the alleys and thus opened a wide possibilities for the alien hunt in the United States.

🪐This is just a slightest glimpse of the story. For better understanding of the plotline, go and grab a copy of yours to enter this unusual world of sci fi fantasies.

☄️Tbh this story is a lot overwhelming to me. The plotline is nicely developed and is rich.

🪐The important questions related to the sustainability of earth is raised in the context of the story but in a gracious and subtle way.

☄️The characters can get confusing at times, well here enters the role of the glossary which helped me a lot throughout the story.

❤️People who possess a fascination for sci fi genres should definitely add this book to their collection.

🎀Rating - 4/5⭐

#qotd: What would you do if you spot an alien spaceship approaching you in the sky when you're having a fun time at the beachside?

Book Review

A multiverse plot set in the year 2040 when humans were practically exhausted of natural calamities like a pandemic, global warming, etc., returns a spaceship from Beta-Earth to Alpha-Earth ( Our Earth)by traversing three universes, and the enthralling expedition begins.

It was very seamless for me to get into the story as the character portrayal and their back-stories were set profoundly well, which formed the perfect base to pace up my read.

The narrative was fresh, clear and hooked me throughout the journey. Not even once I felt the urge to flip back and catch up as things were transparent in the first go.

Though it's an SCI-Fi, I loved the concept of using names of actual countries like Jamaica, Yemen which helped me to visualize things in a better and a focused way.

Varied topics like mythology, terrorism, the destructive nature of scientific experiments, politics etc., were handled at ease and helped sail through the plot without being turned off.

If you're a fan of Star-Trek, do not miss this inter-universe safari. Just get the book and live through the spatial moments.

This is a really good Sci fi adventure. The author does an amazing job of making the story seem so realistic that you could imagine it actually happening. This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I love how the author mixed a scifi story with current events happening in the world. It makes the story more realistic and relatable.

Plant earth is slowly  being destroyed with terrorists, disease and global warming. Things on Earth are going from bad to worse.
So when a group of 6 aliens land on the shore of Jamaica how are the people of Earth going to react. Are we going to embrace the new arrivals or is fear going to get the best of us and we end up destroying them as well. The aliens now have to learn to live in a world that is strange to them all the while protecting themselves from being hunted by the people that they had come to learn from and help.

This books is really good as it is so relevant and uses things that are happening currently such as pandemics and global warming. It also plays on people's theories and fears  and makes us ask the question how would we react if we knew for certain we weren't the only living beings. That other living beings lived on other planets.

The story of Return To Alpha, keeps you guessing on what will happen next when you're taken to a futuristic sci-fi world. Secrets are revealed, so many twists and turns, We're off on a journey to the post apocalyptic world set in 2040s, where aliens with their spaceship land in Jamaica. With the arrival of aliens all over the world the mankind has finally discovered that he is not the only sentient being in the universe. Why did the aliens come? Are their motives as benign as they claim? Why are they being hunted and who will save them and give protection on this earth??

Wonderfully written, thought provoking, intelligent sci-fi to tell more would only be a spoiler, so I would just say read it for yourself, it's wonderful. The journey it takes the reader, and indeed mankind, on is always engaging and often surprising. Along with all the standard trappings of science fiction - space travel, multiverse, alien beings - there are plenty of apocalyptic references hurled into the mix. There are also good secondary characters that make you want to follow up on them in their own stories. What I loved most was the world author has created was without fail totally different from what I usually encounter in dystopian or sci-fi stories and I really appreciated that.

Imagine, if you will, a time and place where a pandemic runs rampant across the globe, people are afraid of others, global warming has changed the world as we know it and now the aliens have arrived! Are they here to help and warn us as they say or are they really here to take over the Earth even amidst the devastation and disease that wreaks havoc across the globe? Oh wait, aren’t we living this now in many ways? Holy crap!!! What a wonderful book that made me think about the current situation on our world and how the different earths handled the pandemic differently. I tend to see this book as a what if and how to approach our lives. The storyline is absolutely fantastic, and the characters are quirky yet very believable and relatable. My favorite character is Mary Carpenter a strong woman who has seen many horrible things and takes no crap! I always like reading books with strong female characters. Do not miss this amazing book that is well written and possibly a revelation into what we have coming in our near future!

Return to Alpha: A new Saga Begins appears is a standalone spin-off from the Beta-Earth series by Wesley Britton. This is a sci-fi adventure story, with dystopian and post-apocalyptic elements that gave the story some intensity.
Environmental issues and plagues have decimated the human population and fear and danger are ever present. So, when Aliens land in Jamaica- you can imagine the reaction from the humans, who are already on edge. What was meant to be a ‘coming home’ of sorts for the ‘aliens’ soon turns into a dangerous and dramatic cross country chase. And so, the adventure begins.
This is an original story, with an interesting plot and quirky characters. The story opens up the possibility of parallel worlds, a multi-verse where there are several “earths’- which is an intriguing concept. The only issue I had with it was that story does get a bit wordy at times, which interrupted the flow for me.

Thank you, Wesley Britton!

Return to Alpha by Wesley Britton - Review by Melissa Saxton
it's 2040, the world has been decimated by plague after plague and every part of the world is our for themselves....until a spaceship lands with aliens turning earth upside down.
from your first introduction to the characters you know you are about to see the worst earth has to offer be thrown at these "alien" visitors. what you don't expect is mistrust, fear, longing, traitors and love bloom inside this action packed story. as their adventure unfolds you find yourself page turning frantically to see if they make it safely out of a post apocalyptic world run by power and greed. can star crossed lovers prevail? can lies be forgiven? can different worlds and beliefs combine?
when you finish their journey your immediate hope is there will be more to come in this tale as you are left wanting to know if these characters can prevail.

"Return to Alpha" is a dystopian novel set in the future, based off the events that are occurring today - with the pandemic being at the forefront of the "festivities". I have read many books with a similar mindset, and while I do want to applaud the author for painting a scarily realistic picture of what could become - possibly minus the space travel, but who really knows! - it was a difficult book to immerse myself in.
The writing was factual and concise, and extremely descriptive - sometimes to the point that it look away from the book itself and I found myself wanting to skip forward to the next part.
There also are a lot of characters - each with extensive backgrounds and information. Again, this is a the show of a very talented author, it was just a bit much for myself.
Good work, Wesley Britton!

Return To Alpha was an interesting read. This one threw me off a bit, it was entertaining, but I think the whole concept just went over my head. This is very much a sci-fi book. The concepts and stories featured in this book were very interesting and entertaining, I just couldn't personally keep up with all the names and characters and events and terms. It was a little much for me to keep straight in my head. This story was very original and unique to me in those regards, I just had so much trouble concentrating on everything that was mentioned. I hate that I didn't love this book as much as I wanted to but I know there are some sci-fi people out there that will absolutely devour this novel! This novel was very well written, it just wasn't the one for me but I still definitely recommend it!

Wesley Britton is a new author to me, but he is quite brilliant. This book felt complex, but was well developed with a very original storyline. The characters you will come to love because they are very well written, and they exude such personality as you get to know them.
This was a Sci-Fi story that took a bit to grow on me, but once I began and got into the book it was a great read, and hard to put down.
Based upon planet earth in the future its been ravaged by environmental issues, plagues, and disease. Much of the population eliminated.
When Aliens arrive people are unsure of their true purpose or how to act, and from there the book takes off as we learn about the remaining earth inhabitants and the newly arrived aliens. With the vast differences and believes will it be a transition to peace, or more of a road to chaos.

I enjoyed this scientific adventure story. This is a newer author for me and I look forward to reading more from him in the future. This is a well written story that is full of action and adventure. There is a lot going on in this story from humans to aliens to even some romance. The author’s use of detail made the story understandable, engaging and easy to read. This is a fast paced story that was entertaining and kept me turning pages to the end. I enjoyed how the characters were unique and interesting. They are strong and brought the story to life on each page. They truly made the story for me. I really enjoyed the growth of this story and the growth of the characters. This is a great story that is worth picking up. I highly recommend this book.

Return To Alpha: A New Saga Begins by Wesley Britton is a well written and unique concept of aliens and their connection with Earth. This is a spin off from the author’s Beta-Earth Series. I didn’t realise this before I started reading however it did not detract from my enjoyment of the book.
I though the way the author created the story was really clever. He used a well known trope – aliens – and successfully put his own spin on it. It felt fresh and interesting and was really easy to get into. I thought all the characters were well done. They each added different things to the story and just enhanced the reading.
This is a new author to me and I enjoyed his style of writing. I will definitely be looking into his other series while I wait for the next one in this.

In this story, aliens have come to alpha earth on a mission, and are greeted by people who are less than enthusiastic at their arrival. The beginning of the story is a bit slow, but it picks up about half way through. The aspects involving COVID-19 are always interesting to read about in books, and where the world went after those events made for an intriguing background to the story. The characters were fun and quirky for sure, and I was thrilled to have some romance to root for, as I am a sucker for a romance. In general, if you like sci-fi adventure, a bit of post-apocalyptic and dystopian, with just a sprinkle of romance, you should absolutely give this book a shot. Once the stage is set, the adventure really is fun to experience.

Wesley Britton’s Return to Alpha: A New Saga Begins is a wonderfully imaginative and well-written story about a topic written many times before…aliens. However, Return to Alpha explores the topic in a relatively new way by connecting the aliens to Alpha-Earth by their home planets of Beta-Earth and Cerapin-Earth, Earths that exist in parallel universes to ours. Britton's writing is easily read, flows well from thought to thought, and gives the characters a realistic quality that makes you want to know their stories. Published earlier this year, 2021, this book is eerily similar to the pandemic still sweeping across the globe presently. I look forward to reading more of Wesley Britton's works.

Wesley Britton has written, "Return to Alpha: A New Saga Begins," which is a spin-off from his "Beta-Earth series. This story can be enjoyed on its own or as part of his previous work. Britton's writing is unique in that it can be read by a wide fan base. Those who like sci-fi and those who read dystopian-post-apocalyptic literature would be drawn to this work. Drawing upon current environmental concerns and the recent global health crises, the plot is both relevant and relatable. Britton increases this tension by introducing aliens into the mix when they land in Jamaica. From there the adventure begins and the pages turn. It is a fun and adventurous read and one to enjoy again!

Dystopian Sci-Fi
This was a very interesting story. I have recently been a big fan of dystopian books, as we're at a point in this world where everything feels so unsure. Add in some Sci-Fi, Stargate-ish stuff and you've got me hooked.
I enjoyed the different aspects of the multiverse used in this book. I felt the characters were well written, though I would have liked to know more about some of the secondary characters. The story was mostly fast paced, a little wordy at unnecessary times.
I hadn't realized this was a spin-off series, but I will be checking out that series. I hope this series will be continued, as I feel the future of these characters could be interesting to read.

Return to Alpha is my first read by Britton and I can’t wait to read the other books in the Beta-Earth Chronicles; it can be read as a stand alone book even though it is part of the chronicles. Britton has created and written an intriguing and exciting new twist to Earth/life as we know it.

The synopsis for this book prepares you for all the new names, terms, ideologies and more that you will encounter while reading. I feel there should have been more from the view of the authorities they were running from, to help the reader smoothly follow with the plot narrative.

Although I feel there could have been more to this book, it is a read that I will recommend!

Audiobook: This was my first experience with Wesley Britton's work. This book took place twenty years in the future. A spaceship which contained six aliens landed in Jamaica. I liked the story and found it thought-provoking; however, there were a surprising number of biblical sayings buried within the story, and quite a bit of religious thinking which framed it. There were some sexual scenes described. Edmund Bloxam's narration was fine, but his voice was gravelly and lacked expressiveness. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review which included my opinions.

Return To Alpha: A New Saga Begins by Wesley Britton is an interesting futuristic sci fi tale. The storyline is original and is a spin off from the original series Beta-Earth. Wesley explores different concepts that reminds me a bit of the concept from the TV series Stargate or Sliders, in that different parallel universes exist. He gives us an intriguing premise and he has a unique writing style. He has created a story which is complex and has a lot of layers. With an interesting array of characters that are unique and quirky. If you are a sci fi buff you will enjoy this tale.

Return to Alpha: A new saga begins is a sci/fi adventure and Author Wesley Britton is a new author to me. I really enjoyed this book and it was nice to start out with the characters names and getting to kn ow who they are. Parts of the story remind me of current times. Disease and global warming are taking over and destroying earth. When a group of aliens arrive in Jamaica, there is not a warm welcome at first. Then the story has an dystopian feel with adventure and even in a little romance.

Return to Alpha by Wesley Britton starts with a description of each character you'll need to know. Over the last 40 years of one catastrophe after another, what more can go wrong with the arrivals of interdimensional aliens? There is much drama, relationships, and longing till the end. Wesley did a good job with this spin off of his other series. This book was an interesting read, but sometimes I had to get back on track and was able to finish.

Interesting sci-fi adventure
An unexpected intriguing story. There are a wide variety of characters and range of adventures. There is a lot for sci-fi fans to enjoy. At times I found the writing became too wordy which had me losing momentum when reading. Overall a very good read packed with a gambit of emotions and even some romance that kept my interest until the end.

Fascinating! Britton is a new author to me and I found the concept behind this book to be very intriguing. The multiverse concept is one I am seeing more and more. I really enjoyed the author’s take on this theme. I found the characters fascinating and the storyline was original. True scifi lovers will enjoy this new world that Britton has created.
