Reclamation: Murder at the Beach

Rate this book
Club Reclamation is a place where vets from all military branches come, chill, grab a drink or meal and find like-minded folks with a story to tell, or problem to share or a soapbox to stand on. If you've served in the armed forces, chances are you'll find a friend who gets you and what you've been through at Club Reclamation, where everyone gets a second chance.

What if someone you trusted for years stole your child? What would you do to get him back? Former SEAL Maximus Delgado cannot accept never seeing his son again and sets out to find his son, Kevin. With the help of fellow vets and team members, he leads his team across North Carolina and beyond to find Helen Grant, the older woman who manages to stay one step ahead of them.

During the search for Kevin, Max and his team come across a body in a place Max had searched. With his fingerprints near the location of the corpse he becomes a prime suspect and seeks to find the murderer before his arrest. In a surprising turn of events, Max discovers he has room in his heart for one more. He refuses to stop searching until the real culprit is found and brought to justice for the murder at the beach.

"Hello,I'm a self-proclaimed read-a-holic. I love most genres and would rather read than do most things. Stands to reason, that I'd have this inexplicable love affair with the written word!

Reading was the balm that soothed me during tough times as a single mother, working two jobs. As things leveled out, I found I enjoyed the places books took me, there was a certain solace learning about various times and cultures. When I began traveling, many of the places I visited felt like old friends. I could envision the characters from the books walking the cobbled streets, or running along the swift moving streams.

After twenty years of reading and collecting my favorite authors, I decided to indulge my passion for storytelling. I took classes, invested in seminars and sat nervously across the table from editors. It was a lengthy process, Finally, I got the courage to allow the market to judge my work. The market can be a brutal, but I think fair, mistress. Hard work is rewarded and appreciated. Slackers don't stand a chance. :-)."

Max & Tamara- BRAB Online Book Club

A romantic suspense that had me on the edge of my seat. Max Delgado is an ex seal whose son was kidnapped by the babysitter. Tamara Gibbs owns a real estate firm, whose ex husband destroyed her first firm during their divorce.

Their paths crossed during his search for his son, and the deception of her latest real estate agent. This story took me through some interesting twist and turns, during which an intense emotional and sexual relationship developed between the two.

A very enjoyable read for me and I'm on to the next book.

One middle age woman makes these men look like darn fools. And these men are supposed to be ex-military elite level guys who are running a security firm.
I don't want to read part 2...

I have read Erosa's Lyon on a Leash and I did not think i would love any other booksby this author, I was clearly wrong, the book was full of twist, thrill, heartache, pain and loss.

The characters are richly written and if you close your eyes you could see them come to life. My heart fel the pain Max felt at the realization that his child was missing. Erosa managed to draw the reader in the emotional yearning, and fear of a parent searching for a child.

When you are introduced to the heroine, you feel an immeadiate connection to her, she is a woman who has reinvented herself and survived in spite of the things she had to endure at the hand of he spouse. Not only did you see her strength, but you could see she was a fighter.

Max and Tamara compliment each other, they don't have the genes to give up. They take the reader on a journey and we will willingly follow.

I mostly enjoyed this story. While this certainly falls in line with my usual guilty pleasure reads starring two sexy leads, it was a bit of a new experience because I can't say that I've ever really read many stories in this genre dealing with military men in more than a way that I would call passing. So, this was a welcomed change. However, premise with the ex-husband was a little shaky, and for that reason, it made other parts of the plot weaker since so much centered around it. I probably shouldn't be complaining about the plot of books like these, should I? I will be moving on to the next book in this serial.

Awesome read

This was a great story! I could not put this book down. I loved the chemistry between Max and Tamara! Both have big problems going on that intertwined which lead to their meeting. There's a lot of twists and turns. It literally had me on the edge of my seat rooting for Max when he tried to get to his kidnapped son when he passed him on the highway. It almost brought tears to my eyes. I would recommend this book to anyone who reads. Another great read Erosa Knowles. Great job! Can't wait to read book 2.

Former Navy SEAL, Maximus ‘Max’ Delgado’s son has been kidnapped by the one person that Max thought he could trust, his son’s babysitter. Desperate to find his missing son, Max will do whatever it takes to bring Kevin home.

Tamara Gibbs is on the road to restoring her real estate business after nearing losing it during her nasty divorce. Then, she hits yet another roadblock after she discovers that a former employee embezzled money from some of her clients. To make matters worse, Max informs Tamara that the same employee, who just happens to be Max’s ex-girlfriend, played a part in kidnapping his son. When the woman in question turns up dead, both Max and Tamara become suspects.

Will Max and Tamara be able to clear their names? More, importantly, will Max find his missing son?

Murder At The Beach is a suspense thriller that will have you all tied up in knots. There is murder, betrayal, mystery, frustration, confusion, heartache, passion, action, sex, jealousy, and military brotherhood. There are lots of twists and turns that will keep you intrigued and a few moments where tears will appear because of the highly emotional events. The attraction between Max and Tamara is true. I really liked the honesty of their relationship and how they dealt with their problems as individuals and as a couple.

I must say that Murder At The Beach finale is a cliffhanger. Nevertheless, it was an attention grabber and will not disappoint. The ending will make you want to dive into the second installment as soon as possible.

Note: The Reclamation series is meant to be read in chronological order.

Murder, missing money, stolen identity and a missing child. Reclamation ties all these themes together in the first novel in the series. Max is an ex-vet turned security specialist, who founded Club Reclamation. It's the ultimate place where vets can gather without judgment. He is a single dad whose son was stolen by a trusted woman.
This story is such a fast action, hard hitting tale that leaves you gasping for the next breath. I am eagerly looking forward to more in this series.

The first maybe 5 chapters were very slow moving and kind of confusing to me and I almost stopped reading. Good book but there were a couple things that made no sense to me. Max was hellbent on finding his son who was kidnapped but he never talked about his kidnapped son to Tamara, he never asked her did she know the lady who kidnapped Kevin. Both he and Tamara dealt with folks who they didn't bother to do background checks on. Tamara had her entire business ruined by her evil ex husband but hires a woman she met at the gym, no resume, job application, or background check. Hiring her led to Tamara's business almost being ruined a second time. Max's baby mother was a gold digger and did suspicious shit but her never once thought about doing a background check. Max's baby mother and Tamara's gym hire were the same person, she had two different names, a secret house, convinced Max to hire the kindly old woman whom she eventually convinced to kidnap their son, and she was an escort. She did all of this in the same town as Max and he hadn't spoken to her in years and thought she lived in a different state. Mind you Max was ex Delta Force and just retired from doing civilian rescue missions and his ex military friends owned an elite security firm.

Club Reclamation is a wonderful place for Vets to hang out. The owner, ex-SEAL Max Delgado's 4-year-old son was kidnapped by his babysitter eight months ago and he had been searching for him ever since. While searching, his team found a body, telling Max he had to see it. After leaving fingerprints, he became a suspect in the murder. There are lots of twists and turns in this thrilling story, one of which leads Max to Tamara Gibbs. Tamara owns a real estate business and had hired Max's ex-girlfriend, his son's mother. Turned out she shouldn't have hired her.

This mystery had so much going on and so many characters that it was hard to keep track of everything at times. It ends in a cliffhanger but does set up scenes for the rest of the series. We find out a lot about Max and met many of his friends when they used their skills to solve the crimes in this fast-paced story. There was even a romance between Max and Tamara to lighten the danger in this story.

Reclamation

I enjoyed this book. Max is an interesting character and definitely an Alpha. The love story is unfinished. I'm looking forward to see what Tamara and Max have in store.
Will Max's son, Kevin ever be returned. This book has a whole bunch of crazy running through it. Will Helen do the right thing and return the boy. Who exactly is this Vincente character? And how did he and Adele get connected?
Max doesn't even know the amount of crazy waiting to show its ugly head.
Looking forward to the next book.

How far would you go if someone you trusted took your reason for living?
Meet Max Delgado, a retired Navy SEAL who opened Club Reclamation, a safe haven for veterans from every branch of the Armed Services. When his son, Kevin is kidnapped by his long time babysitter, Max will stop at nothing to get him back. He turns to the people that know him best, his fellow veterans.

Club Reclamation is a place that you can feel at home around people who understand what you have been through and help you get through tough times now that you are back. A place to ask for help and sometimes give it. There is one rule, respect each other and the club.

Tamara Gibbs has finally gotten her life back on track after a nasty divorce. She is hesitant to trust again, especially when the lawsuits against her start. One of her agents goes rogue and steals from her only to wind up dead. Carin, seems to be the piece tieing Max and Tamara together. Max has to protect Tamara from getting swept up in the chaos, and it may not be the chore he thought it was. Will he be able to save everyone he cares about?

As the first book in a series, this book does a great job setting up for an intense ride. I was instantly caught up in the drama surrounding Max and his comrades. I felt that this was almost a case of good versus evil, except you aren't quite sure yet who is good or evil. I caught myself cheering and jeering as I turned the page. This isn't just a story of a man struggling to get his son back, he is struggling with the fact that he was taken in the first place. He sees it as a failure and everything that happens while he doesn't have him, is another thing to add to the list. As a soldier, you have to follow orders, but when you retire, some become lost, that is why this Club Reclamation is so important. Everyone needs someone who understands them, and I think this feeling was captured perfectly in this book. In a world of uncertainty, we need human contact, whether it is a friend, a lover, or a team member, someone to ground us. I am rooting for Max and his friend, and I can't wait to see what happens to those stupid enough to cross him.

What happens when you look for a loved one but some information may be slightly altered to get results? During the quest he meets a woman who has landed herself in a heap of trouble connected to that disappearance. Can it lead you in the direction that brings them home?
Enjoyed the story, for once I'm confused about the title. I enjoyed the story-line, characters and plot. This is a new author for me and I look forward to reading more of her books.

Murder at the Beach

Reclamation is a club where vets can hang out from all branches of the armed forces without making them feel inferior. But the owner Max who has a 4-year-old son that his child sitter has taken from him while he was working security on a job. His ex-girlfriend had released her parental rights to Kevin but then turns up dead. Max is a suspect but so is his ex's former boss Tamara, when it's discovered that she took several down payments on houses. Max calls in his team of former military who work for him to try and figure out how Car in died and they also help follow leads on finding his son.

This is the first of three books out revolving around Max, his friends at the club, his missing son , Kevin, and Tamara. It's a fast paced novel twists and turns, murder and his kidnapped son by his nanny. You won't be disappointed.

I love a good book with sexy, bad-ass men with military training- both active and retired. This book has that and then some. 'Reclamation: Murder at the Beach' was full of thrilling scenarios, hot bad-ass men, mystery and suspense. The hot and steamy scenes were fan myself hotness. Max made the perfect lead. He was strong willed, strong bodied and lived by an honor code that was remarkable. His friends were just as reliable and full of surprises. Tamara was a very independent woman who had a hard time putting her fate in the hands of a man, and not just any man. They mad a great team. The storyline was well written and well played out. I look forward to reading more of this series. A great add to your tbr list. Recommended read.

Love me done Max

I can read about reclamation 24/7 now I read all three of them together w/o doing a review so I hope I remember each book...lots of twist and turns, so nanny things happening on each corner of his world, but Max handled them all, HUD woman, his terrible situation as it becomes foible trouble, when I am reading this I am glad I am not dealing with a bunch of men that just kill at will, they only do it as a means to them staying alive. So I liked the book real well.

This book kept me riveted from start to finish. The basic premise of Club Reclamation was on point throughout the book. The story line of a father searching for his child just kept me hooked. Max, Tamara, Charlene, Gayle, Skinny, all the characters were deep and true. The Helen/Carin combo even had me going. As to not give away a spoiler I will just say I wish one part of the ending was different and I hope it is resolved in the next book.
