Editing issues aside (typos abound in both English and Greek), this is an excellent response to Engberg-Pedersen and will be a source as I investigate the in/commensurability of John’s notion of the λόγος being “with” God with Stoic authors’ treatment of the rational principle. Hated that I had to pick it up and put it down (I think I’ve finished three John books since starting this) but I really enjoyed it. Thoroughness with the primary texts should be expected, and it was delivered here.
