My name is Thea and I’m a mermaid. Actually...it’s a bit more complicated than that.
I thought I was an ordinary mermaid prepared to receive an ordinary tail color at my Tail Ceremony. Instead, I ended up with a mythical color equipped with powerful abilities.
The Council believes I’m a danger to myself, the Pisciessoan community, and the world. Part of me understands their reaction, but I draw the line at imprisoning me...or worse.
I have one chance to escape with the help of a handsome stranger I only know as Bellamy.
The specter of war looms, and an ancient grudge means Bellamy is the only one who trusts me. But there’s more to the myth, the meaning in Bellamy's gaze, and the darkness that has been unleashed inside of me.
I must learn to control my terrifying new abilities or become the monster everyone fears....
Dezarea is a bonafide Texan, born and raised, currently residing near Fort Worth. When not writing, she can be found crafting, doing renovation projects with her wonderfully indulgent husband, or tackling the endless mountain of laundry that lurks in her bedroom. Her favorite thing in the world is snuggling with her three kids, two cats, and reading a tower of books watching their eyes light up as the characters come to life on the page.
Great book! Book 1 got me hooked, but this one kept me reading well last my bedtime. I really became attached to the characters and could feel their emotions. Well done! When does book 3 come out?
She must learn to control her overwhelming powers, or else become the mass murderer everyone fears.
Thea Galleon received her mermaid tail—a black one thought to be a myth—and with it the release of her full magical abilities.
In fear of her capabilities, The Council has kept her starved, sedated, and weak to study how she is different from other Piscissoans, the mermaid species whose existence is being threatened by a terrifying illness.
In a bid for freedom, Thea must say goodbye to her home island of Bailerunda once again, trading the high tech environment of the island for the tradition steeped culture and olde world ways of the Cephalians, the half octopus species that lives across the trench.
Will Thea find more than she expected in this foriegn land of Cephalians, or will she be pushed to the brink of insanity as she grasps to control the monster within?
Just when you think you know what is going to happen BOOM you didn't see it coming.
Thea is just your average everyday Pisciesson, or so she thought. Her best friends Calix and Coral have always been there by her side steady, unwavering. Now their friendship, their hearts and their lives are all about to change.
Thea wil change. Coral will change. Calix will change.
Who or what can do this? Bellamy. Where did he come from? Who is he? Why is he drawn to Thea?
Bellamy, sent to find medicine for his mother, suddenly finds himself in lost in her. Thea. What is this pull? This hold she has over his heart, his mind even his soul?
As you begin to tag along with Thea and her friends, you too will be caught up in a world of beauty, mystery and love. Not just any love. A love that could either unit or destroy to civilizations. You won't be able to put the books down. You, as I am, will be waiting on pins and needles for the final chapters to know where Thea's loyalty and love will either end or stand forever
The Blighted trilogy book two is just as captivating as book one. I loved learning more about the history of the Pisciessoan, Cephalians and Drek-toa and the blacktails true powers. It was fun being able to watch the characters learn and grow together. I loved the emotional ups and downs as Thea not only learns about her powers but attempts to maneuver the love triangle of her past and present. And that twist at the end, I did NOT see coming! I can't wait for book three!!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in the Blighted trilogy. I can't wait to read the third book. Excellent, in-depth, engaging storyline and characters. Keep writing Desarea Dunn. Well done!!
