Piper Green was known as a bookworm, her nose always buried in the pages of some novel or textbook. She had grown used to being called that, even by her college bully. But one fateful night, everything changed. While at a football game, Piper stumbled upon a group of drunk men harassing a young girl. Without hesitation, she stepped in and saved the girl from harm's way. As fate would have it, the girl turned out to be none other than the sister of Piper's bully.

This book contains violence, explicit language, sexual assault, drug use, and detailed depictions of sexual encounters.

This was a quick little read I thoroughly enjoyed! It was easy to get wrapped up into the characters Piper and Kai. This did leave off at a cliffhanger that I 1000% didn't see coming, so I am really hoping for book 2!

This is my favorite moment/quote, "To be the one who's there when you open a new book. To be the one you look for in a crowd. To be yours, if you'll have me."

I really liked this book. And I mean really. I was NOT expecting the huge cliff hanger at the end. I would love to know if there is a book two in the works to keep this going. Definitely recommend this one!

Piper Green, a shy bookworm, just wants to be left alone.
Kai and his crew are her tormentors.
When Piper defended Kai’s younger sister from an attack, a silence of respect developed between them.
Piper vulnerable, quiet, grows sexually and confidently throughout the story.
The sexual tension is slowly felt throughout.
This story is well written with flawed characters, revenge, secrets, betrayal and a cliffy left me wanting for more.
Anastasia Lynne is a new narrator for me. She captured the personalities and voices of all the characters. Very well done

This is my first time reading a book by A.L. Adam’s and she can definitely write a good story. This book does end on a cliffhanger but reading it is definitely so worth it. This book has some amazing characters and it’ll feel like you’re experiencing everything with them.

This book follows the journey of Piper a bookworm who didn’t felt seen and got bullied a lot. Her tormentor was also the brother of the girl she saved from men who were hurting her. She was brave and dealt with a lot.

Then you have Kai the fighter and bully of Pipers, he’s the brother of the girl Piper saved. He didn’t know he wanted Piper until he thought someone else was going to take her away from him.


Then K is a mysterious fighter who wants Piper and is a gang member and seems to be an alpha male. You’ll come to hate this man.

Riley is Kai’s sister and the one Piper saved.

Then you have Candy- Kai’s girlfriend and mean girl to Piper. She really lets her have it. You have Gunner and Blake they are Kai’s best friends.

Then you also have Liam a guy that works himself into Pipers life. She knew him from college and the boxing gym she goes to train, his father owns that gym.

Trust me this book has it all.. drama, trauma, mentions of gang members and underground fighting, smexy scenes and hot! You’ll be disappointed if you don’t get a copy.

I absolutely loved every moment of this book! I suggest reading the trigger warnings before reading. I was hooked from the very first chapter! Piper is such an amazing character! The book ends with a jaw dropping cliff hanger that makes you need more! I need book 2 asap!

I listened to the audiobook of this story by A.L Adams.
Pulse is not a stand alone story this book ends on a cliffhanger so be aware.
Also there are trigger warnings with this story,so readers who are sensitive to the subjects explored in this book may want to take a look a the trigger warnings.
Piper is a bookworm who is bullied at school because she appears to be a bit of a nerd..at a party she rescues a girl from getting assaulted and it comes to light that the girl is the sister of Kai..
Kai is like the Alpha of the school it says that he is her bully in the description but as I listened he didn't really bully her.His crowd would taunt her he just observed.
Well she goes to an underground boxing match only to discover that it is Kai fighting and she puts bets on his rival to win.
This gets her into trouble with him but they do share a kiss.
Honestly I was a little confused at times with their relationship they would run hot and cold alot and I didn't feel the chemistry at times.
Then there was Liam who is protective of her and I thought at one time there was going to be MFM going on But there isn't..lol.
There is a threat to Piper and Kai and that is how it ends..wondering what the hell just happened.
I did enjoy the story even though at times I felt a bit lost,and I definately want to listen to the second book because I have to know what happens next.
Anastasia Lynne did an excellent job at narrating all of the characters in this book I loved listeninf to her story telling.

Wow the cliffhanger just left me scrambling for more but this book had some great characters and growth throughout the storyline. This was a shorter book at 165 pages that had college age, boxing/fighting, enemy to lover . Piper kinda keeps to herself as she is a bookwork but that just made her a target for being bullied. Most of the bullies came from Kai’s group and his girlfriend Candy who is a mean girl, loves to be included in on that fun but Kai just kind of lets it happen which makes him just as bad as the bullies themselves. But at a party Piper saves a girl from being assaulted only to find out later this it was Kai’s sister Riley. There is another character Liam that I really liked as well as Piper knew him from college but also his dad owns a gym that she is learning to box at. Did not see the twists coming on this one but really got my attention so far.

Amazing narration from Anastasia Lynne, who brings the emotions, drama, angst and twists all to your ears.

Piper has always been a shy bookworm. Kai and his friends have bullied tormented her. All changes when Piper saves Kai's sister from an attack. Kai sees there is a more to Piper and starts to show her respect. just wants to be left alone.
We watch Piper grow and becoming confident in many ways, we see the sexual tension grow between Kai and Piper.
We have flawed characters, revenge, secrets, betrayal , trigger points and a cliff hanger that will leave you wanting more.

One of my fovorite tropes
Enemies to lovers first off this book came to me in audio form. The college bully romance with realistic characters. This book kept my intention from chapter to chapter, a very well written book with realistic settings. Although I did not see the twist coming and hope to see a book two.

This book has everything you need in a bully romance. There are triggers so be careful, however I thought this author wrote very well and compassionately. I can’t wait for the next book. A brilliant performance.
