¿A Austin? Nope. Hacía tiempo que no veía a una heroína tan tenazmente TSTL. 😒 Claro que, si fuera sensata, no habría libro.
Reseña algo más extensa, en mi blog.

HERO Force #6

A second chance at love is given to Austin Dixon and Cassidy Lane when he is sent with his team to take her out of The Community…a weird group with a man who claims to speak to God. Cassidy is in search of her best friend who went missing and won’t give up on her – no matter what. The book is filled with action from beginning to end and a bad guy or two, in addition to the cult leader, present themselves and are dealt with before the end of the book. I enjoyed this book but found it more fantasy than reality but then…sometimes a bit of fantasy is just what the doctor ordered.

Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This is book 6 in Amy Gamet's HERO Force series, easily a stand alone. Although this is a fairly quick read it isn't lacking in action or drama much less sexy second chance romance.

Austin Dixon and Hero Force have been hired to locate and save Senator Lane's daughter from a cult but Austin has a personal reason for getting to Cassidy. The two have a past, and it didn't end well, no thanks to Cassidy's parents. But when the Force's efforts are hampered by unexpected issues Austin will be left on his own to save the only woman he's ever loved from a lunatic with a God complex.

As an investigative reporter, Cassidy will do whatever it takes to get to the meat of a story but when her friend and co-worker goes missing Cassidy will do anything to prove she is still alive and save her before it's too late. However, when a crazed cult leader goes too far Cassidy may find herself in far more trouble than she bargained for. Will Austin and HERO Force be able to get to her before it's too late?

An edge of your seat nail-biter, I couldn't put this book down. Another tremendous addition to the series, Amy Gamet keeps producing gripping and intense dramas. I highly recommend the entire series.

This book opens with Austin in a precarious position. Something went wrong as he, Noah and Logan parachuted into this remote location. Now he's cold, in pain, tired and apparently high up in a tree. His thoughts go first to his predicament and then to Cassidy and finally to what happened. He tries to raise Logan and Noah on his com to no avail, so now, he has to get to Cassidy alone.

Cassidy is an investigative journalist and also a senator's daughter. The senator had gone to great lengths to keep Austin out of Cassidy's life and now he's the senator's hope of getting her back safely. It seems Cassidy joined 'The Community' where another journalist has gone missing. That journalist, Julianne Garrison, is also Cassidy's best friend. Cassidy's paper hadn't sent her, so she's doing this on her own, and it's HERO force who's called get her out. They're on a strict timeline in order to get her out safely before the CIA raids the compound.

Although injured Austin makes it to the outskirts of the compound. After dark he begins looking for a good way in and out, inadvertently seeing Cassidy and David. He makes an unwise move, but essentially it gives him a better opportunity to see where Cassidy goes.

He would get her out, one way or another.

Now Cassidy is determined to go back, and almost gets herself killed in the process. Realizing she is convinced Julianne is alive and will only return no matter how far he gets her away from here, he decides to go back with her.

Meanwhile, Noah and Logan are back at the base and Jax is trying to establish exactly where Austin is. He didn't realize Austin and Cassidy had once dated so technically he shouldn't have been on the mission at all.

When he finds Austin is inside the compound, Jax takes Noah, and they head back out. Austin would need their help.

Their plan unfolds and Austin finds himself in David's office, he comes across a map of Seattle with major tourist spots highlighted. A bit of luck has him finding a satellite phone he uses to call the HERO office. He has to leave a message of what he found and asking for backup.

Things heat up from this point and nothing will be easy. I couldn't put this book down as every step brings them closer to the truth of everything David is hoping to accomplish.

I couldn't put this book down until the last page turned.

Targeted by the SEAL
HERO Force, Book 6
By: Amy Gamet
Narrated by: Janelle Tedesco

I can't get enough of Hero Force! These books while short pack a punch, full of suspense and romance! This episode takes us in the middle of a cult! Austin sets off to find Cassidy Lane, a reporter that is determined to find out what has happened to her best friend. Austin finds Cassidy, tangled up with the leader of the cult. Will he be able to pull her out before things get too dangerous? Will they find her friend in time? I love this series for so many reasons. The story is concise and entertaining, Austin is that man you want to come and rescue you. He is handsome, strong and gives that feeling of being safe. As a listener, when you can feel that invisible, protective hug, you know it's a good man! Cassidy is an interesting character. She is loyal to the end, not letting anyone stop her from what she plans to do to save a friend. She is the person you want in your corner. These two share a past too, which makes their story all the sweeter. Loved it and can't wait to see what Hero Force has in store next!

Janelle Tedesco continues her amazing narration of this story. I am loving her portrayal, finding each personality of the the different characters and bringing them out. I also love that she keeps the voices consistent from book to book as some of the characters overlap and it makes the listen that much more enjoyable.

Second-chance romance mixed with a military hero. Well that's pretty much checked all the boxes for my perfect story line. Ten years ago Austin and Cassidy were forced apart by some meddling parents and a bunch of insecurities. Now Austin has to break her out of the secured compound of a man with a messiah complex, a desire to rule the world, too much time on his hands, and a whole lot of explosives and ammunition. The chemistry between this pair is the kind that's lasted ten years and came back stronger than ever. I loved that even though it goes against all of his training and instincts, Austin values life, and Cassidy's instincts, enough to listen to her opinion and alter the rescue plans. I'm a little less impressed with Cassidy, but I think that's mostly because I couldn't be the bigger person the way she does and maintain the relationship with her most meddlesome parent. I fully support Austin's original position on that particular individual and would have happily eliminated that one from my life. There's lots of intrigue, drama, and action in this book. And let's not forget a couple of daring rescues to keep the adrenaline pumping. I can't wait to meet the other women capable of taming a HERO Force member.

This book is a wonderful compliment to Amy Gamet’s HERO series. The plot was fast paced and the characters from HERO Force were swoon-worthy. I find myself wishing there was more to the story…more pages that is.
When journalist Cassidy Lane goes missing, her Father, Senator Lane, goes to HERO Force for help. This is just the kind of mission HERO Force can excel in. But there is one small hitch: Austin Dixon and Cassidy have a history. And it didn’t end well. Austin is still in love with Cassidy and will do everything in his power to bring her safely back home. But Cassidy isn’t the only woman missing. Her friend Julianne went missing weeks earlier, and Cassidy is hoping to find out what happened to her.

Austin, Noah and Logan are sent in to bring the missing woman home. But when the parachute jump into the nearby woods injures two of the three members of the team, Austin decides to go in on his own. But bringing Cassidy home is no easy feat. She is determined to find Julianne. The only solution is for the two people to work together. And while these two rub each other the wrong way, they also rub each other the right way. And sparks fly.

I don’t usually go for novellas, but this story captures you immediately. The plot was fast paced, full of suspense, evil guys, a cult, a strong minded journalist , many twists and turns, and another hunky HERO man.
Austin and Cassidy have a history that ended 10 years ago when Austin was considered not good enough for Cassidy. Neither forgot each other.
Austin and HERO are called upon to retrieve Cassidy from a cult she has infiltrated with the intention of rescuing Julianne, a friend/co-worker. Her friend is presumed dead, but Cassidy doesn’t believe that.
The author managed to give us a story that had you wondering what would happen next, while taking you on a rollercoaster ride with her story , wonder whether or not Julianne would be rescue, would the baby survive and would Austin and Cassidy find their HEA.
Another good addition to Ms Gamet’s HERO series.
I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Get ready for another Hero Force adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page when former SEAL Austin Dixon finds himself suffering from hypothermia after a skydiving accident separates him from his fellow Hero Force team members. My heart was in my throat through much of this story because Cassidy Lane is an undercover investigative reporter who enters a cult-like community and finds herself in way over her head. I think I spent most of the book holding my breath because of the constant danger of exposure that could have deadly consequences for Austin and Cassidy. This is a roller coaster adventure with lots of sexual tension and my only complaint is that I felt the ending was rushed causing some of the action to be implausible when several more chapters would have made it a five star read. I read a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

I received this free e-book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. It is awful, I wish I could give it a Minus 5. The writing did not flow smoothly or the plot make any sense what so ever. Austin is a retired Navy DEAL working for HERO Force on a mission to rescue an ex girlfriend from a cult compound where she has gone to find a missing fellow reporter and friend. There is no way anyone in their right mind much less a Navy SEAL would take a poison to incapacitate themselves to gain access to a secure compound with killers leaving their rescue target and their self at their mercy. Also where Cassidy sneaks away in a snowstorm to another hiding place and no one notices the foot prints? I could only read 65% and could not waste any more time. I usually love Amy Gamet's books but was really disappointed with this one.

Awesome contemporary military romance with book 6 of HERO team. Austin has worked with HERO team since his retirement from the military. The Senator comes directly to his team to bring his daughter Cassidy home. Cassidy infiltrated the commune because she believes her best friend Julianne is still alive. Austin and Cassidy have a last and he felt he wasn't good enough for a senators daughter. The mission for him is personal but he doesn't tell his commander about his relationship to the subject. There is lots of action, intrigue, suspense and sultry romance. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. Characters from previous books make appearances in this which ties them together. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Gamet.

So close but yet so far away . . .this action filled, drama intense, lunatics, bad-guys, accidents, infiltration, reunion . . .

Cassidy finds that she may need help but don't want to take it. She was determined to find her friend. She was willing to do whatever it took to find her and get her out. She never intended on being in the presence of Austin again. He broke her heart. Austin never expected to be the sole person going in to rescue Cassidy from a cult of lunatics with a god complex. The intensity rachets itself up when there are more than one danger being presented to them.

Fast pace, action filled, drama laced second chance romance that may need recovery time when this is all over.

Tense, fast-paced and nail-biting drama, as the HERO force is tasked by a Senator to extract his journalist daughter from a cult's community. The mission didn't start well, leaving Austin on his own to infiltrate the camp. As it turns out, the situation is far worse than Austin could have anticipated and as he and Cassidy race against time to find her missing friend, the team begins to question their assignment. Austin and Cassidy were in love years before, but finding themselves in a volatile situation causes the old attraction to spiral up once more. As with other books in this particular boxset, there is a twist in the tail and all is not as it seems. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Senator Lane was embarrassed his daughter, investigative journalist, Cassidy was dating lower class SEAL Austin Dixon and adamant they break up. Austin’s stunned when the senator hires HERO team to rescue Cassidy who faked a trip to Paris but went to rescue a pregnant friend from a dangerous cult with a demented leader masterminding a terrorist plot.

What. Idiots! Unskilled and alone, Cassidy’s trapped with a person who makes her feel unsafe, who’s alluded to killing her friend, where she can’t leave without permission. After snatching Cassidy and stopping to rest, she starts back and Austin returns with her since she’s so insistent and the sex is too good. The leads are just one thing that made this short too long!

3.5 Stars - Austin and Cassidy's story was unfortunately too short for my liking. The plot was very good, but towards the end it felt too rushed to get to the end. Fir me, they deserved more. For some reason this author's stories are feeling shorter. I don't like that. She has great characters, plots and development but she is rushing the endings without satisfying completely the reader. That is too bad because as much as I like this author's characters, I feel like fulfilled as a reader. Hoping the next one will bring me back.

Also there was a big error because in this story jax's daughter is named Violet and her name originally is Emily.

I purchased a copy of the steamy postmilitary suspense romance Targeted by the Seal in the Hero Force Boxset Books 1-8 by Amy Gamet, and this review was given freely.
Full of violence and suspense, this is a twisted and drama-packed novel expressing the ugly side of cult life and an unfaithful father’s plotting, which is combined with a second chance at love romance.
When Senator Keaton Lane’s daughter, Post journalist Cassidy is located in The Community cult, he appeals to Cassidy’s old lover for help, HERO team member Austin Dixon.
18+ for intimate scenes, violence.

Another great read for this amazing series full of top-notch characters. I love that Austin and Cassidy got a second chance at love. How dare her parents only care about status, then how Austin would have loved and taken care of Cassidy. What a crazy storyline. These two have so much chemistry. Can't wait for the next installment of HERO Force series.

Navy Seal Austin is on high alert when his ex- girlfriend's rich parents contact Hero Force. Cassidy is missing and involved in a cult. They just want her home.

Cassidy is undercover looking for her best friend who has gone missing. Not only has she infiltrated a psychopathic in charge, things at home are not as they seem. ~

Got to love those SEALS

This is another good SEAL story, kind of a mix between reality and fiction. This story is about a reporter infiltrating a cult, the crazed action of the leader and the HEA ending when the SEAL gets the girl.
