This is a well written guide both for those looking to start their own business as well as for existing business owners who want to step back and see what is and isn’t working for them.

Mr. Graf makes clear from the outset that the work/life balance is an important part of what he preaches.
In fact, Mr. Graf would like all entrepreneurs, “Unleashed Entrepreneurs” in his terminology, to have a “24/7 Mentality.” Not, as you might think, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Rather, 24 hours a week, 7 months a year. That’s the work/life balance he’d like you to be able to lead.

To start you on that path, the first chapter entitled “Lifestyle Design” has you focus on your personal and business
end goals. That should head you off a path that leads to 60+ hour work weeks. From there, the second chapter entitled “Effective Time Management” helps you realize where you should and shouldn’t be spending your time, very much in the work smarter, not harder mode.

With those basics down, the book then continues with chapters on Branding, Marketing, Sales, Pricing and Social Media. Of course, there are definitions and examples in each of these chapters, lessons and do’s and don’ts. What I especially appreciated were the checklists and questions you were assigned to answer. For new entrepreneurs, it helps you get your ducks in a row. For existing entrepreneurs, they can help you take a fresh look at your business.
The final chapter, entitled “It’s “GO TIME””, is a final pep talk to get you on your way. It’s that last push that says if you’ve gotten this far, if you’ve done your work and exercises, go put it into play, go take that chance on yourself.

I liked Mr. Graf’s writing style. Much of the writing was in a conversation style which worked well for the material. This book is well suited for those seeking to go out on their own, as well as for those overworked business owners who wonder how they can enjoy the fruits of their labors with a little less work. This isn’t the only book you’ll need as a business owner, for example you’ll need some management material as well, but it’s a good place to start.

If this had just been about marketing I think it would have been ok. As it stands, needed an editor at least for spelling. Very shallow dive into the other parts of business. Not great.
