Heat Haven Omegaverse #3

Protector's Promise: Heat Haven Omegaverse, Book 3

Rate this book
Smith didn't know what to expect when he started working for music icon Deja Fox (also known as Cami Jenson). He thought he was going to be protecting a needy, manipulative Omega. It winds up being far from the truth.

Cami is beautiful and complex. He finds himself not wanting to be curt and short with her but actually wanting to get to know the real her, not her celebrity façade. She's been used by others and doesn't have many people in her life who she can trust. Smith makes it his mission to be that person for her.

He can't offer her what he believes she wants, like a pack or financial security. So he sticks to what he does best and puts keeping her safe above all else. But when Cami signs up for Heat Haven and Smith needs to be present for her protection, will he be able to keep his feelings and his hands to himself?

Contains mature themes.

4 Little Bitch Baby Stars ⭐

Protector's Promise was a modern day bodyguard / popstar romance set in an Omegaverse world. And I'm glad it really worked. It was sweet, emotional and steamy without all the dramatics I kind of expected. Instead of an annoying Diva, our girl Cami is struggling with the expectations of success and the fallout of being an Omega. Being so normal makes her really likeable.

I can’t dedicate myself to my passion and to multiple people. There just isn’t enough of me to share. I already share so much of myself with the world. I want something special, not something I’m forced into out of need.

I was impressed with our Alpha, Smith. All grumpiness aside, he took professionalism seriously without being heartless. It initially takes a little time before Smith and Cami both reach a level of comfort. However in such close proximity it naturally happens and their mutual respect provides the perfect opening for romance.

Not long in Cami's presence and Smith is feeling territorial. Having a great deal of compassion for Omegas, he can't help but step in to help Cami since she's surrounded by vultures. And if he's feeling the pull of attraction, he's holding steadfast. All until it means other men servicing his girl during her heat. Not bloody likely!

“Smith?”
“Yeah, baby?”
“Are you crying?”
“Maybe.” He leans his head down, his lips next to my bonding mark. He gives it a delicate kiss. “I’ve just never felt this at peace in my entire life. You gave me that.” His chest purrs against mine, and it’s the most satisfying thing I’ve ever felt.

Set in the Heat Haven world this was a wonderful addition. Honestly if you enjoy Sweet Omegaverse romances you're missing out if you haven't read this series. These are standalone, but Heat Haven and Omega's Obsession were equally as good. They feel fresh and sexy!

ARC provided by the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

OV with the MMC starting out as the FMC's bodyguard. FMC is a famous singer and MMC is emotionally wounded from a previous relationship.

It's a quick read and can be enjoyed without the other books of this series.

My main issue was that I couldn't really warm up to the MC's.

Protector’s Promise is the latest addition to Sarah Blue’s Heat Haven Omegaverse series and it’s truly amazing how she managed to create 3 stories so far so different and unique from one another.

In this one, we get our first MF couple in the series. I’ve been reading mainly RH/menage for the last year and reading MF isn’t as appealing as it used to be for me. But Sarah Blue blew my expectations and knocked this one out of the park for me.

One thing I adore about Sarah’s books is how much heart they have. And in this case, Cami is definitely the heart of this story. Her struggles with trying to please everyone is something that called to me, and I’m sure many other women will feel the same way. Her character is so captivating and charming, I adored her so much. I loved how we got to see the real Cami behind her public persona, and her relationship with her mom gave me all the warm feels.

Her reaction to other Alphas during her heat will live rent free in my mind forever. It was one of my favorite moments in the whole book.

One of the highlights in this story is the appearance of Liv and her pack from Omega’s Obsession. Cami’s friendship with her was my everything. And the addition of Smith’s sister, Kelsey, to that chaos was the perfect choice to balance things out. Liv was as intense, funny and over the top as we remember. And the little glimpses at her life now with her pack made me want more of them. I’m willing to beg at this point.

Kelsey was my other obsession while reading. Did anyone else end up dying to read Kelsey’s book next? Because I sure did. And all the little hints at her current romantic entanglements just made me want more. A book about Kelsey and her extensive pack could be a weapon of mass p*ssy destruction, and I’d pay all my money for it at this point.

Smith as the main Alpha of the story was incredible. He blew my mind with his perfect mix of protectiveness and dominance. His dirty talk got me dehydrated so fast, and his sweet, sweet degradation made me go a bit feral ngl. I loved how seriously he took his job and how he was there for Cami from the get go, even though it took them a while to click together, which I loved because the medium burn made their romance feel more genuine and real.

Another of my favorite moments is probably when Cami interviews all those Alphas and Smith hates them all on the basis of them pretty much just existing near her. I laughed so hard I cried.

This book also has something I’ve never seen in an Omegaverse before, that I thought was so clever: Fake scent marking. They try to keep things professional but their sexual tension is off the charts hot 😮‍💨

If you’re looking for an MF read with some unparalleled hot and innovative smut, please pick up this one. I’ll say just two words: Fuck Machine. This book unlocked some few new kinks for me, ngl.

I can’t wait to see what Sarah Blue writes to blow our minds next.

The man is obsessed, and so am I.

This one was good. It was fun reading Cami and Smith’s story. Seeing Cami grow some and demand the respect she deserved from people who used/treated her poorly. There were some moments where this one dragged, but I still found it enjoyable. If another one is coming and following you know who, then I’m definitely down to read it.

2.5 Stars

This is the first time I’m rating a book between stars but I think now is a good time to start. I wasn’t a fan of this book so I would typically give it two stars but since it’s mainly because of the writing style, and because of how much I enjoyed the other two books in the Heat Haven Omegaverse series, I’m giving it 2.5 stars.

The story felt choppy and very juvenile. Characters weren’t really acting how I’d imagine they should and felt more like a teenager pretending to be an adult. It also was just very boring and read more like a diary sharing what happened day to day with not a lot happening rather than a story. The dialog itself felt forced and unrealistic as well. Some things characters said seemed to be out of the blue and it didn’t flow very well.

The previous book in this series had similar issues for me but I think the fact this book was just MF made it more apparent as there weren’t as many hot characters to distract me. It seems this author’s writing style is just not my thing so as of now, I don’t believe I’m going to continue on with the series.

MF omegaverse with spitting? YES, PLEASE.

Add in the fact that this has a stoic bodyguard and a kindhearted pop-star, chef's freaking kiss.

I really enjoyed the set up of this! It's SO refreshing reading a Principal (thanks google, for telling me what you call the person a bodyguard protects) who DOESN'T FIGHT AGAINST THE BODYGUARD'S STIPULATIONS. Of course Cami hires Smith herself, so she wants his protection, but I'm so tired of Principals fighting their guards at every turn.

It also helps that right from the start, you can tell Smith has Cami's personal wellbeing at the forefront of his priorities hehe.

The side plot was enticing, and there's a consequence to actions near the end that I think isn't talked about a lot so that was nice.

I will say the writing was a bit choppy and I don't think the relationship was as emotionally developed as it could be, but I still enjoyed this!

Also, LOVED seeing Liv and gang again.

Rating: 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars.

OH I JUST LOVE ME A BIG, BURLY, BEAREDED BODYGUARD WHO IS GRUMPY!

This is one of my favourite bodyguard romances of all time! Cami and Smith's romance was the perfect mixture of extreme sweetness and devilish dirtiness, I ate it up instantly.

Cami is the Omega pop idol sensation know as Deja Fox, and after photos of her heat are leaked to the media, she enlists a live-in bodyguard to help her cope. Smith is a grumpy Alpha working in security who takes the job, but he was badly rejected by an Omega in the past and is still guarding his heart.

Cami and Smith were perfection, they complimented each other like strawberries and chocolate. I loved how protective Smith was of Cami, but that it never overshadowed her own growth in learning to speak up for herself and take a stance. Instead, Smith's protectiveness over Cami showed her that it is okay to ask for help and that you will burn out if you don't slow down. I adored how Cami's pure heart broke through Smith's stubborn walls and that she never gave up trying to melt him down. The scene where she called him "mine" had my heart puddling, it was just the sweetest. I truly loved them.

I also laughed my ass off multiple times. Sarah Blue has my kind of humour, that is 100% for sure. I will forever be appreciative of her usage of the phrase "yeet myself out the window."

Also, no spoilers, but the way they handled her heat? Athena? Hot damn, that was such a fun and fresh twist!

This truly felt like no other omegaverse book I had read before and I truly commend Sarah Blue for her smutty writing powers.

Seriously, Sarah Blue is the omegaverse author you need on your TBR ASAP.

I will say that the characters from Omega's Obsession do make a LOT of appearances in this, so it is even more fun to read the books in order (but not necessary). I, however, was squealing when Liv turned back up and I got to see my babe River again!!!

Protectors promise is the story of cami/Deja Fox and her burly bodyguard, Smith. We were briefly introduced to this duo in omegas obsession and I’ve been anticipating their story ever since.

I absolutely loved this story and although it takes place in the same world as OO, and we do get some amazing character crossovers, it stands entirely in its own.

Cami finds herself emotionally and physically exhausted and with some events in her past haunting her and others making her daily life difficult she finds herself relying on her new bodyguard, Smith.

Smith takes this job with a lot of hesitancy. He hasn’t had good experiences in recent times with omegas and he has definitely closed himself off due to those things.

However, when these two come together it’s absolutely beautiful. They have such a realistic dynamic. Smith stands up for Cami in ways you would want your partner to do In real life. He’s protective, sweet, and his mouth should absolutely be illegal. Cami is sweet, spontaneous, and isn’t afraid to break down Smiths walls.

When these two come together, especially after all the sexy tension, it’s like fireworks and that passion never stops. From beginning to end I loved this story. It was emotional, sweet, and absolutely dirty.

I can’t wait to see who’s story is next, but I’m hoping Kelsey because that’s dynamic seems like it’s going to be spicy hot. If you are a fan of Sarah and any of the heat haven books , you’ll definitely want to devour this one.

Be ready to bite the heads off gummies while you dive into this tense and emotional world. You won’t be disappointed. Kudos Sarah!

I’m really enjoying this sweet omegaverse series. Unlike the first two books, this is a M/F romance, so no pack dynamics or sex choreography to work out. I appreciated the representation for jealous/territorial people who don’t like to share. 😄

Popstar/bodyguard trope, but both characters felt pretty… normal? And their issues/insecurities were easy to empathise with. It was just a really easy read, with good build up/tension.

OOOO bodyguard + omegaverse = looove

Super cute bodyguard/rockstar romance. I loved how much he didn't want an Omega, yet he found himself attracted and super possessive of her.

This was a slow burn but once it burned it WAS ON FIRE!!!!

Even though it was a slow burn, they fell fast... like once they got together it was game over which felt a little rushed.

But overall, I really enjoyed!

I don’t know how Sarah does it, but this series is so cute and sweet, wholesome and scorchingly hot at the same time! Like, I can’t express how adorable the purring is! And then she hits us with smut so damn good!

This was so sweet and I loved how much both Cami and Smith changed through this story. I loved the bodyguard concept and how grumpy and protective he was of her. Also, how much of a sweetheart he was, but only for Cami. Swoonworthy! Cami grew a lot and I absolutely loved it. She had such a wonderfully big heart and I adored her. It was so beautiful to see her find the confidence she needed to stand up for herself.

I thought maybe I would be bothered by that there wasn’t gonna be a pack with Cami. But as I learned more about Cami and Smith, it absolutely didn’t make sense for there to be a pack, at least not yet. They were so sweet on their own and hot af. So I didn’t have any problem with that.

I also loved that we got to spend some time with Liv, Grayson, River and Dean. So far, nothing beats Daddy Grayson. I also enjoyed the introduction to Kelsey, Smith’s sister, and I can’t wait to read her book!

3.5 stars - I like a good bodyguard romance, and Smith was exactly what Cami (aka "Deja Fox") needed after going through some traumatic events. This one was pretty simple, it was obvious who the culprit was behind the privacy violation and they got exactly what they deserved.

I will say the writing in this one felt different from the first two books. I just didn't connect to it as much, and I didn't vibe with Cami as an omega as much as I did with the omegas in the other books. Not sure why, but something was just off in how she was written by the author.

Tropes: MF, omegaverse, bodyguard/celebrity, forced proximity, interracial, slow burn-ish, both H/h healing from emotional trauma

TWs: violation of privacy, discussion of drug misuse, violence

I liked the idea of a romantic M/F Alpha/Omega relationship rather than the typical reverse-harem omegaverse, but the writing and pacing of the story did not live up to expectations. The story was full of telling rather than showing, and so much minutae of the FMC omega Cami's superstar musician life could have been condensed. It got rather repetitive to follow along each of her shows after the alpha Smith was hired as her bodyguard, and the details didn't add much to the story.

The manager Garth was introduced as an asshole from the beginning, and nothing changed by the end of the book. Cami and Smith's relationship behavior and POV opinions got more and more juvenile as the story went on - e.g. phrases like "yeet myself out the window", calling people around them "bitches" and "douches," and dropping more and more f-bombs in their verbal dialogue.

The insta-love and between the two came out of nowhere, and so did the details of Cami's kinks for her heat like ??? This was especially surprising considering how hurt and offended she had been in the beginning when Smith had mentioned she was being an annoying Omega, which is much tamer than calling someone , even if it mostly during intimate times. Cami didn't even ask for Smith's first name until he had already .

After the two had , it just became a porn-fest that I skimmed through with a mostly unsurprising ending, which is the reason for my 2-star rating. While I had enjoyed a short story by the writer in the omegaverse anthology Knot Over You and most of their co-writing in Vera and the Vegas V series, I don't think I'm interested in any further books in this Heat Haven Omegaverse series. For those interested, the next book will be following Smith's omega sister Kelsey.

I prefer my omegaverse stories to have harems but I did still love this story. Not my favorite though. However, even though it was just Smith, their time at Heat Haven was still 5/5 on the steam scale🔥

I’m giving this 3.5-3.75 stars. I liked the characters and found the story to be interesting with her being a pop star and him her body guard. The privacy violation added that little bit of drama and mystery I always love to have in a book. I haven’t read many MF omegaverse stories and I wasn’t sure I’d like them but I’m glad to be wrong.

The reason it’s not rated higher is at times it felt a little choppy and repetitive. It was disorienting at times and kept me out of the story. It didn’t flow as well as the other Heat Haven books for me.

I will say I’m very intrigued by Kelsey’s story and cannot wait to read hers next!

Help my life! These stories are ADDICTIVE!! I loved this bodyguard trope right here. The way Smith called Cami “little star” made me melt. What I love most about these books is the way the Alphas protect, take care and love their Omegas. The scenting really gets me going because it’s like my favorite thing already. Heroes obsessed with the heroines scent gets me everytime. I loved seeing the Sorensen pack again and look forward to Kelsey’s book next!!

I don't need to know my clients on any other level beyond what is needed in my job to protect them, and that's it. Especially an Omega - I have no interest. Packs aren't my thing, and I know that an Omega just isn't in my future.

From the get go, we are set up and so ready for Smith's fall, aren't we dear readers? Having the context of a brief meeting of Cami and Smith from Omega's Obsession, it was nice to get into these character's heads and see how they got to, and where they went after their brief scene in book 2.

A rumble starts in my chest, and I quickly cut that shit out. Jesus. You get an Omega in your arms one time and you start to fucking purr. Shut it down, man.

I enjoyed that the author didn't make use of the obvious, easy 'lack of communication' trope, and actually had the characters talk things out after awhile. Smith's and Cami's struggles with fame and the were realistic and well written. I was super disappointed that

He looks over to the kitchen, where the girls are laughing over something. "She won't last." I arch an eyebrow at him. "I'm sure I'll get a call around one in the morning asking me to pick her up."

^^I usually try not to quote secondary characters in reviews, but I think a strength in this Heat Haven installment was the cameos from Liv and her guys. The was sweet and it was so nice to see Cami gain some much-needed friends in her life!

My only complaint might be that the overall idea that connects this series - the Heat Haven facility - hasn't been a huge focus for either book 2 or 3. It feels like it's snuck in there just for continuity and not for actual plot. I did like how Cami though! And despite the cringy Nimbus 2000 references, they get full points for creative use of toys during a heat!

I look forward to reading Too Tempting sometime soon!

🖤Omegaverse
🖤Popstar/Bodyguard
🖤Heat Haven world- can be read as standalone

I fall in love with omegaverse a little more everytime I read a book by Sarah Blue.

Cami is a popstar, stage name- Deja Fox. She’s been put through the ringer recently and doesn’t know who to trust. After pictures are released of her mid heat.. something needs to change. She needs a bodyguard who is there for her and her alone.

Smith is a surly alpha who has a lot on his plate. He has no desire to mate with an omega after being burned in the past. Smith needs to take care of his sister and make enough money to pay for her treatment. He can’t pass up the opportunity to protect Cami.. the money is just too good.

This book was entertaining from beginning to end. Cami is by far one of my favorite female main characters. She’s loyal, strong, and when she stood up for Smith.. I wanted to give a standing ovation. I loved everything about Protectors Promise.. it was refreshing and one of my favorite books of 2022! I can’t wait to read more!

WOWOWO I loved this book just as much as I did the others in the series. This is a medium burn book filled with tension. I really enjoy how Sarah had makes all the books in this series so distinctly different yet they’re all so amazing and hot.
This took on a slightly different take on omegaverse and relationships compared to the others but I loved that. I also enjoyed the cross over between some of the previous characters.
I loved how protective the hero was without being too over the top and how you could see the heroines journey into feeling more powerful in her decisions. As always the spice was hot and I loved the scene with the “toy”😏. This may be my favourite out of them all so far and I can’t wait for the next book which has been teased.

“I’ve never in my life wanted someone so desperately as I craved her at that moment. The mix of her overwhelming strawberry shortcake scent intermingling with my own had my dick harder than a rock”

Smith is an Alpha and bodyguard and takes on a job being a live in with Cami. He takes his job very seriously and is as no nonsense kind of guy. Cami is a music artist that is going through a rough time in her personal life and it is effecting her work life. She hires a new bodyguard and is hoping to finally feel safe again. She struggles to take care of herself as well as speak up which prompts Smith to be even more protective. The tension between the two is great and the spicy scenes are very nice. I did feel like the first half and the second half of the book were like two different stories. I also loved how they handles Cami’s heat but I was bummed that there was no sharing like in the other books. I would say it was not my favorite of the series but I still enjoyed reading it.

This was a fun, omegaverse bodyguard romance. Cami is a pop star and hires Smith as her new bodyguard after an unfortunate incident. Cami’s an omega who doesn’t feel like she needs or wants a pack and Smith’s an alpha who steers clear of omegas because of his past. As they spend time together, they see sides of each other and themselves that make their chemistry hard to deny.

I liked this book but I wanted to love it. I love a slow burn and the tension was really doing it for me in the beginning. But, after the slow burn started burning, it went from 0 to a hundred and it gave me a little whiplash. Some of the dialogue wasn’t my favorite and some moments turned me off of both main characters but if you like omegaverse and a bodyguard trope, I do think you’ll really enjoy this.

If you enjoyed the first two books, you won't be able to put this one down. After Cami's racy photos are leaked to the media, she seeks help from a live-in bodyguard to get her through it. Enter Smith, a grumpy Alpha who takes the job, but has been guarding his heart since a past rejection from an Omega. What's unique about this story is how Cami's heat is handled with just one Alpha, which adds a fun and fresh twist to the tale!
