How best to describe this book Rememberance is a retained mental impression or memory but can also be gift given as a token of love and friendship. 5 Chocolate Chip Cookie Stars.
Janie Callahan Mike's sister from book 3 has always had a major crush on Luke. They have been friends for 20 years until recently things have started to change though. Janie wasn't what one could call the typical ugly duckling. She has always been told how beautiful she is, great personality but if she would just loose some weight then she would be rocking. Such a nice back handed compliment if I haven't seen one.
Luke Daniels has always had a soft spot for Janie ever since he had to tickle her feet. Their families have always been close. How do you make someone who don't see as a brother/sister anymore to take you seriously? Well, you tease and you tell them to find a bloke/woman for you that makes you sxream. Over the past books we have seen Janie try and get Luke's attention and she is doing pretty well. By wearing the right clothes and making him jealous with Detective Douche
It's hard getting rid of underlying securities there were some situations where I did find Janie really annoying. Janie and Luke sexing it up though with banter was blimin hilarious. So there was also one hot scene with a footrub which made me want to go home quick and get my hubby to rub me foot. After so many years of hard work and maintaining her figure it is all finally paying off. She gets a gig with Ayanna to cater Lukes Xmas Party and then to network where she meets a contender. Mr. Eric Weston the biggest player in New York and an absolute dick.
Luke has always felt drawn to Janie and he wants what his parents have. With his Spanish background and good looks he has never had to worry about the ladies. His parents call one another Mi rey, Mi reina. My King and My Queen. Janie isn't too sure if he feels the same but Luke sets her straight.
"What we just did was the perfect culmination of everything we've been thinking, feeling, wanting. It was more than our bodies coming together; it was our minds, our spirits. It was everything. It was every nerve ending screaming to be touched. It was our hearts calling out to one another."
The plot is well paced and was really well written. The authors Rebecca Lynn have really outdone themselves with this one. The whole gang is there although I do have a problem with grown women squealing but then again I don't squeal.
I have to wait until Spring 2015 for the last book unless the series continues with Mo maybe. Have I mentioned that I have to wait until Spring 2015?
This latest installment in the Iris series was awesome. Luke and Janie have known each other for years, Janie's loved him almost that whole time. Who doesn't love a friendship turned true love story. Luke is one hot Latin, domineering man and Janie is a woman on a mission to show shes not a "baby girl" anymore but a women. Her tactics to help Luke see this are hilarious. Recurring characters, hot sex, good story , with a great group of friends. HEA stand-alone but recommend reading in order to know all the players in these books and each of their stories.
Oh maaaan, this one is a drag. I've expect too much! their connection was built since book two, but the execution was just ... plain. I expect more! especially because there's hint how Luke treat his woman. This one is disappointing! and there's no suspense in it, bummer!
What a fun journey watching this couple come together. This is the fourth book in the Iris series, and where with the previous three, we had some serious topics, a little intrigue and relevant social topics; this read is the playful, flirty and sexy journey of Janie and Luke. Janie was the shy, overweight baby sister of Mike, and Luke is Mikes best friend, and a surrogate big brother to Janie aka 'baby girl'. The problem is, the feelings that Janie has for Luke are anything but sibling like. Janie goes off to culinary school, and comes back, 45 lbs lighter, voluptuous and confident, and ready to stake her claim on Luke. Luke has always had a soft spot for Janie, encouraging her talents, wiping away her tears when the school bully teased her for her weight, and being an overall great guy. Their story is just that, their story; their cat and mouse, the push and pull, the witty banter full of innuendo and double entendre. It was delightful and fun to experience; we didn't get the full blown intimacy until more than half way through the book, but once it arrived, it came with intense heat (can someone say fire extinguisher, lol!) It was also fun seeing how our previous three couples were doing. These authors keep getting better and better, as the covers keep getting more beautiful. The next story will focus on Tiffany, Luke's Sister and the gorgeous and kind surgeon Dr Drew! Can't wait!!! Thanks Rebecca Lynn for another wonderful addition to this series.
This is something a reaaaalllyyyy lonely and bored person would read and love. The story felt even more fake than the three books prior. What she said? So scripted. What he said? Not even scripted anymore, just delusional. No guy EVER talks like that. Except he's no guy but a girl. The friends? Seriously? It had made-up-story written all over it. It was sooo cheesy. I need a book to be real (even a romance novel needs a little reality in it) and this was anything but. And what had me rolling my eyes the most was the fact that everyone and everything seemed to be aroused by everyone and everything. They all felt it all. Are you f****** kidding me? Not. my. book.
Well, the first 65% or this book was pointless in my eyes. Why the heck did they play games with each other? What was the point in that? It accomplished nothing but caused anger and pain and hurt and Jealousy. This was my least favourite book.
I won’t be reading the next one either because every time I read anything that has to do with Tiffany and Drew, she sounds like a 12 year old. I’m bummed these books lost their momentum.
Do you like your romance novels hot & steamy, always with the HEA? Then you should be reading this author. You will be so glad you did. I promise.
I'm not going to rehash this story. Suffice to say, it has depth, complex characters, is extremely thorough and a satisfying read. Read this series. You wont be disappointed.
Iris series is hard to put down, sexy, and hot. Keeps you wondering and thinking about the characters and story line continuously. Great writing. Look forward to reading the next book. These books can be read over and over. They're that good. Thank you Rebecca Lynn for these fantastic stories.
I've been waiting for Luke and Janie's story since almost the beginning and I wasn't disappointed. Such a cute story, such a cute couple. Definitely my favorite so far. Can't wait for Tiffany and Drews story next.
I swear the series just gets better & better with each book! Janie & Luke were driving me crazy with their sexual tension. So glad it worked out how it did. Gotta luv an alpha male & a woman who realizes her worth. Waiting for #5!
I adored the first instalment of the series, this book, however, turned out to be quite the disappointment. Most often I wanted to slap the hero to finally take what he desires and when they finally come together I couldn't get over the silly dialogues and nicknames they have for each other. D
It took so much build up for them.. then it was a little over the top sappy.. lol I liked this one a lot. The torture of Luke was good no suspense in this story..
