This one started ALL GAS NO BRAKES! I mean mouth dropped at 3 %. This was a great thriller read that brought all the suspense & chills!! I absolutely couldn’t stand Kenya, I mean talking about a bitter baby mama! She made life miserable for Samara & Wes! The suspenseful storyline trying to figure out who stabbed Samara was gripping and held my attention the entire time. I listened to the audiobook & the narrator did a great job especially alternating between an adult and child voice! Overall, a great read that makes me want to dive more into this author’s catalog!
Through all of that tragedy happiness won in the end! Please read it you will be pleasantly surprised!!!! Mara endured lots of pain so she deserved the surprise at the end!!!
I purchased this book based on the title. I’m happy I did because it was good. Samara and Wes got their happy ending along with KK. I can’t say the same for Kenya. Her jealousy was her takedown.
I come across this book out of the blue, and I have to say the title - as crazy as it is - drew me in. I was intrigued to see what it was all about. So, here we are. It was a quick read. It was enjoyable. It kept me reading throughout. The only thing that stopped me giving five stars is the cover. I would say it doesn't fit the book as well as it should, there was no happy Christmas or much mention about Christmas traditions. However, I'm glad I picked it up on KU and gave it a read. It was all wrapped up pretty well. If you like a suspense novella then this is worth the read.
This story just jumped straight into action followed by the drama. I didn't take the title literally, so I was surprised by what occurred. And I must be slow because I was so focused on the potential attackers that I didn't realize she was right in my face. Not what I expected as a Christmas read, but definitely a page turner that I don't regret downloading. After all the mayhem, the happy ending was welcomed. Loved KK (and her big mouth) and the relationship she had with Mara. Great short story.
This was a really, really, really quick read that was predictable without much of a storyline. Unless there will be other books to follow, I will never know the background of the characters. Would have preferred more details. I wasn't at the edge of my nerves trying to figure out who it was because by chapter 3, I knew who it was. However, still interested in reading other books.
This short story was good. I didn't know what to expect from the title, but I love the way everything was pulled together to make such a good novella. Christmas should be about giving to others and receiving love. It was turmoil instead. When jealousy rears its ugly head, the unexpected definitely happens and it gets ugly before it gets better. I liked this book!
Listening to this book was an absolute experience. From start to end, it just didn't stop. Apart from the mystery of who did the stabby-stabby, this book was very simple with a straightforward plot and characters who weren't particularly complex. The end most definitely brought a host of feels - be sure to check your triggers. Good for a quick and easy read/listen.
It was a toss up between two people as the one who did it for me throughout the whole book, but the ones I was suspecting were not the people the author was trying to get me to think it was. She chalked a whole lot of love and violence into this little book. Becoming one of my favorite authors.
Wow. Not what I expected. This novella is a must read. A lot packed in this story, but well-written. Loved Mara and Wes and glad the got their HEA. Kk just stole my heart.
I loved this well written story. The drama, secrets, and murder was everything. From the first page I couldn't get enough. The title of the book definitely describes the story within. Great characters and a crazy ex made for an interesting read.
Samara was about to leave for Christmas dinner when she got stabbed. I liked the characters, but the pace was slow and the conclusion a bit predictable. I figured out who the culprit was pretty early on, so there weren't any surprises.
