A delightful indie book! I binge read this book when I got it as a Christmas gift the year it came out. I’ve read it three times since. You might see a handful of typos and the cover is not my favorite but all of that can be over looked in light of the story within. I loved Arn, I ADORED Jacques. But my favorite character wasn’t even one of the main four boys. I liked the pacing of the story, and the wyvern fight sticks in my mind even after all these years. This book is what inspired me as a high schooler to keep writing. I remember reading the excerpt for the sequel and crying afterwards because of the cliffhanger it left me on, and that is the only thing I will not forgive miss Anne Harper for: leaving me hanging. Still hoping for the eventual sequel on this one!

Thanks so much to Anne Harper for writing this book. An epic tale of adventure, brave but complex and varied heroes, evil villains, and the import and impact of choices each one must make along the way. Only one concern: when and where is the next book in the series?? Paging the author...

Anne has a fine touch with words painting pictures easily seen. I had the good fortune to read some of her unpublished works and was looking forward to the day she would come out with a work that many could read and share. There is action, drama and lots of fantasy with a touch of humor. Looking forward to her next opus.

A wonderful read!

Calijah is an exciting adventure, filled with sword fights, adventure, and good vs evil. Perfect for adult and young readers. I can't wait to see what happens to Elijah and his friends next.
