I cannot recommend this book enough!! LONESTAR is a fast-paced novel full of intrigue, high-stakes, and passion. C.W. Wells continues to impress in his second book and keeps me wanting more of McClanahan's Boy Scout attitude. With great characters, gripping plot, action-packed scenes, and legal/financial trappings, the author reminds me of a unique combination of John Grisham and Lee Child. I cannot wait for C.W. Wells' third book and am hoping to see more of Gale and his crew take on the next Voss/Tate evil.

One of my favorite things about Wells’ writing is his ability to create characters that you can’t help but root for. You don’t have to be a die hard football fan to get sucked into this book - regardless you’ll find yourself enraptured by the tumultuous tale of a gritty, salt of the earth man, hoping that he finally catches a break with each turn of the page. I cannot wait to see what Wells comes up with next!

The Bad Guy In This Book Is The Worst...
... And frankly, I couldn't wait to see him get his comeuppance - but would it ever happen??? Well... you'll just have to read the book and see - but I can tell you this... the grief just continues to pour on our poor protagonist, Gale McClanahan - who despite all odds, never quits and never gives up! A great story with so many twists and turns you think you'll never get there - but it's a great, white-knuckle ride to the end!

Far fetched

Lots of intrigue and plot twists. Unfortunately, the setting of a professional football team is just too improbable and unrealistic.
