Is there anything stranger, then a grandmother who decorates the walls in doorknobs? If those doorknobs are really a gateway of doors that lead to other realms...then maybe.
For centuries the Wasley women have guarded the gateway, and for those years the Guardians have been incomplete. When Aggie’s grandmother passed, the last things she expected was to be asked to join with eight hunky Guardians in order to help save a bunch of demon children who have been kidnapped. Through ever-changing storms and dangerous weather, they must figure out who is responsible and try and bring the children home in one piece. Too bad Aggie has to make a life-changing decision. Will she choose to accept her waiting powers by bonding with the Guardians or will she live the life of her ancestors and not fulfill her destiny?
IMPORTANT This is a reverse harem novel featuring many hot men, steamy sex, and adult situations, magical creatures, demons, vampires, shifters, along with a woman who knows how to take charge of the situation, and so much more!
*sigh* I read all the way through 60%, then skipped to the end. I'm pretty sure I figured out whodunit, but I just got so frustrated. This was such a fresh idea that simply floundered in execution. This is one of those situations where a story has all of the elements, the characters are interesting, but the plot is just.... Feeeeck.
Omg this was such an interesting read. It so different and you go from loving the guys to yelling at then and loving them again I can't wait to see her bond with all the guys. I also can't wait to see them fight together. So excited for book two.
I gotta say that ending had me laughing out loud. I love it. As for the rest of the book this is a great new fun series filed with 8 totally different sexy men not just in personalities but in species too. Aggie the lead heroine is utterly clueless about what the women in her family have b doing good generations but immediately takes to her new role and is slowly becoming a badass. She thrusts herself into this new world and takes it all in stride including the mission to find all the missing children. While on this mission she finds out she is the prophesied Dragon warrior which I am more than eager to learn more about and what her next adventure will be.
I don't mind an apathetic character...but complete bitches are just not my thing. Aggie was just an awful human being...and quite frankly I would have preferred that I never even read the eight or so pages that i struggled through.
I liked the plot and the characters, and I can’t wait to see where the author takes this. I did struggle with the writing style, which was why it’s only 4 stars. I think instead of “show don’t tell” the author “shows and tells” so one of the MCs will “blink shyly” and then the narrative will say “which was in keeping with his shy character”. It was just a bit hard to get my head around. That’s the only negative I could find though.
Very intriguing story! This has been on my tbr for some time now and am glad I finally read it. The storyline and world building are fantastic. I love the snark to balance the seriousness.
This is an intense story line that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and turns and hot chemistry. Lots of excitement. A thrilling must read, every page will have you enthralled and panting for more. Let’s not forget to mention the chemistry of these two.
This is a first for me by Erin and I really enjoyed getting to know her style her characters are well written and has a good story flow! I look forward to the next book!
I'm going to be honest, I thought the blurb sounded interesting, but I didn't think I would love it as much as I did. I love, love, love RH paranormal romance, but I have never read one with so many in the harem and I was worried it would be overkill. It was not. The author did a great job at developing the characters and I loved all the different personalities.
I liked that the ending wasn't a huge cliff hanger. I am excited to read the next book and grateful that I am not left with an anxious pit in my stomach like most endings of books that are in a series.
I enjoyed the narrator and for the most part, could tell the different characters by the voice changes. I wish the other books were available on audible right now, but I will just continue the series on kindle.
I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review.
WOW! I love this book. The story is amazing and keeps you wanting more. I didn't want this book to end. Aggie is thrown into a new life she had no idea existed until her grandmother passed. I enjoyed the difference in all the characters. Each having their own personality and gifts. I liked that the guardians exist of several different paranormal varieties. Aggie is a fighter and wants to help however she can. I'm dying with the cliffhanger
I liked the idea of this story greatly. I have some flaws with the plot not being fleshed enough and wanting more background into each of the men. Plus for a snarky heroine she just kinda accepts her fate which seems out of character. I will continue reading the series because I am hoping the author broadens the backstory of the guys and tones down the immediate acceptance and I want to have some questions answered.
