A steamy werewolf romance from New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Tabitha Conall...
Can fated love triumph over the threat of war?
Aislinn Cavett lives a sheltered life, raised in a human supremacist compound and kept separate from the wild variety of non-humans teeming outside the compound’s fence.
North American Pack Alpha Darius Bishop believes peace with the Humans First group is the only way to protect his wolves from ongoing, senseless violence.
When Darius arrives at the Humans First compound for peace negotiations, he finds something he didn’t expect—his mate. Fate couldn’t have chosen a more inconvenient mate for him in the General’s daughter, but Darius doesn’t care. Aislinn is perfect.
War could be the result of their mating. When her father advances and his own wolves turn against him, Darius has to make an impossible choice—his love and his sanity, or the lives of his pack.
This 40,000+ word long book is the second in the Colliding Worlds series. HEA included.
A straightforward story of two individuals on the opposite side of a war. On the one side is Aislinn Cavett, daughter of the General of human purists, who want to eradicate the shifter population. On the hand is Darius Bishop, Alpha of the shifters, who wants peace but will do whatever it takes for the good of his pack.
When the two meet at a peace summit, it's instant attraction as Darius realizes Aislinn is his one and only true mate. Unfortunately the Humans First (HF) group don't want peace and try to kill off the shifters forcing Darius to abduct Aislinn.
It's just what the HF's need to force an all out war unless Aislinn is returned. Decisions will have to be made as to the whether they will have a future together or if peace means they'll have to forever be separated.
A sweet yet poignant story of lovers on the opposite side of a war pitting shifters against humans. Fate and love throw in a twist of intolerance and whether love IS the answer. The adult content has enough smoke to fog up the room but not enough to see the actual fire, if you know what I mean.
World building could have had more depth for me and I did find myself questioning family love and unity at times. Definitely can be read as a standalone but overall it's a read that will give the reader that warm fuzzy happy feeling when all is said and done.
Paranormal Romance has always been a favourite of mine, and I find it extremely refreshing when an author steps outside the norm and puts their personal stamp on the genre.
I loved the concept of PNR worlds created from human dreams, and the inevitable conflict when the beings of dreams become all too real and fallout when the extremists of humanity feel threatened.
But damn, one thing I wasn’t prepared for the author’s ability to bring me to tears when describing the emotional torture suffered by an Alpha who makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his people.
Any true supporter of this genre can’t help but fall in love with this series, and I for one will be hanging out for the next book!!
A love story for our times. The love story at the centre of this book is poignant. Both the hero and heroine are willing to make sacrifices for the one they love. Behind this is a story of duty, of doing the right thing for the wider community, of trying to avoid conflict between two groups entrenched in bigotry and fear of change, and of a father who sees his family as collateral damage. The tone of the book is light despite the subject matter and the love story is beautifully written. Tabitha Conall was a "new to me" author.Having thoroughly enjoyed this book I am looking forward to reading more of her work.
I absolutely loved this book, made me think of all the bigotry in the world today, only it's directed towards the North American Wolf Pack. At least Darius and his mate had a happy ending with all the hate surrounding them.
There was lots of hate and blame, but at the end it all turned out for the better. All the suffering these two had to endure was for a greater cause for all concerned. The only one that came out losing was the General and his lot of bigots.
Congratulations on a very different heart warming story Tabitha.
The book may be the second in the series but can be read as a standalone, overall it was a good ok kind of story that at times had me wondering and slight confused at times but it all worked out... Touching story that was well written and creative.
In the second book of the Colliding Worlds series, North American Pack Alpha Darius Bishop wants to negotiate peace between the wolves and the militant Humans First organization. He arranges for peace talks even though members of his council thinks the gesture is futile. To his surprise, he finds his mate among his enemies and has no recourse but to kidnap her. Aislinn Cavett wants peace with the wolves. Her father, the leader and general of the Humans First group, wants to destroy the wolves by any means necessary, and Aislinn has learned long ago to not go against her father’s wishes. After the peace talk goes awry, one of the wolves kidnap her, but she’s not afraid. For the first time in her life, she’s finally free from her controlling family and from their bigoted hatred, but she knows she must return to them to prevent all-out war. Darius and Aislinn are amazing and well rounded characters. They have instant chemistry, but the odds are stacked against them. Darius knows what he wants but that differs from what he needs to do. He’s a strong, capable, self-sacrificing hero. He’s a true leader, and I absolutely adored him! Aislinn is just as smart and stubborn, and Darius’s perfect match. I love the world building. There are different Earth dimensions that are overlapping each other, which means humans and a variety of supernatural creatures are living together on one planet. Each species knows about the other, which causes rife and mistrust, but there are many that want unity and friendship among the different species. I really like the fact that the wolves, humans, and other supernatural creatures hold TV press conferences like they’re political officials, and that public opinion weighs a lot on how each species acts toward one another. The story is tight and well written, but there are a few minor quotation mark typos in my pdf copy. I really enjoy the author’s writing style, and I look forward to reading more books in this series. 5 Stars

I enjoyed Darius and Aislinn’s love story that had shades of Romeo and Juliet. Aislinn is the daughter of the general in charge of the Human First organization. They want shifters and other supernaturals annihilated. Darius is the Alpha of the North American pack. When Daruis and his wolves arrive for peace talks with the general he immediately realizes Aislinn is his mate. When the peace talks start with an attempted poisoning, Darius grabs Aislinn as a hostage to help them get safely away but also because he cannot walk away from her. To get to their HEA, Darius and Aislinn will need to deal with the prejudice between the factions, try to stop an all out war, and figure out away to have forever together. The story includes sweet moments, steamy scenes, dangerous moments, loyal friends and family, difficult back stories, love, fated mates, political machinations, and even some laughs. While short, the story included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. 3.75 stars. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.
I felt so sad for Aislinn and Darius but loved the ending. The love story of Aislinn and Darius is fraught with sacrifices, duty and bigotry from those closest to them. Poor Aislinn has been raised in a Human’s First compound, her father is the general of this group of bigoted humans who believe they are superior to everyone and everything else out in the world. It all starts with treachery when Darius goes to supposed peace talks and ends with war, death and even more treachery. The one bright spot is he finds his mate. To find out she is his enemies daughter was a shock. Darius and Aislinn’s mating causes major problems with both the supremacists and Darius’ pack. Her father is so horrible he would rather kill Aislinn, and tries too, than have her happy and in love with a wolf shifter. They both choose to do the right thing for their respective communities, even if it means they have to be apart. This story grabs you and keeps you reading till the end to find out how Aislinn and Darius will overcome all the odds against them.
Darius and Aislinn's story is crazy off the charts!
While Darius tries to sit down with the General of the Humans First group for peace talks all he can smell is mate. And it takes all of his will to focus on the negotiations. His mate happens to be the generals daughter Aislinn. As she feeds them the wolves smell poison. They get up to leave and are surrounded, so Darius takes Aislinn so they won't shoot at her and can get away with their lives. Can anybody say War? It's the only thing on the generals mind, even if it costs him his daughters life. All Darius wants is peace for the pack and to love his mate. There is a lot to overcome in this story folks. It's fast paced and thrilling and I couldn't put it down. It's a great read.
This was an OK read. There wasn’t much chemistry between Aislinn and Darius, and they didn't spend much time together, so the “romance” fell flat. Aislinn’s father was just an extremely bigoted individual, without much nuance to his character. Her mother pops up a couple times, but doesn't seem to have much going on in the noggin, nor care at all about Aislinn. The conflict didn’t feel too easy, there were some stakes and some angst. I liked that, at least. The world was a bit confusing. There’s mention of different dimensions colliding, but as to when that happened, I couldn’t say. At the beginning, the way it’s written seemed to point to the collision happening fairly recently, but then later it’s said the wolves have been there for generations, so I was confused.
Found the book discounted on Amazon.ca via Bookbub; this is my honest review. Good balance between romance, action, drama, and sex. Categorized as steamy. Took one star off as it is not, not even close. Great read; don't miss out and buy the book!
As the paracommunity is revealed to humans, tensions rise. Fear is a bad thing. Werewolf alpha Darius is incensed when a peaceful meeting turns dark, the only bright spot being that he finds his mate. The general's daughter, Aislinn. A mating has never been so important for this new world. Too bad her own father is against it. The lengths each side is willing to go to will destroy and build relationships.
**I was given a copy of this book for a complete and honest review**
What happens when worlds collide??? Chaos, fear, anger, bigotry, war and sometimes even love!
Ms. Conall has introduced an interesting world of intersecting universes/worlds that collide with the Earth. In this story the werewolves & Human Firsters are at war. Darius Bishop the Alpha for the North American wolf Pack wishes to avoid all out war but the General of the Humans First is rabid with nothing but contempt and hate for the wolves.
Against the advice of most of his command contingent Darius agrees to peace talks with the general at a location outside of the Humans First Compound. To say the negotiations go badly would be an understatement. An attempted poisoning of the werewolves at the luncheon sets off a chain of events that could plunge both sides into outright war. To add fuel to the fire Darius scents his mate - the general's daughter Aislinn Cavett. Anger and mating instincts takeover as Darius takes Aislinn "hostage" to save his guards lives and to get them out of the tight spot they find themselves. Aislinn sheltered, ignored and unwanted doesn't fully understand her part in the unfolding drama.
Darius explains things to Aislinn once they reach the safety of the wolves stronghold. At war with himself, his duty to his people and the overwhelming need to claim his mate his mind is crowded with decisions he must make quickly. Aislinn also ponders what she wants, needs and what would be best for everyone.
After an attack on the wolves stronghold that kills several adult and children wolves Darius knows that he must sacrifice his sanity by returning Aislinn to her father and her people. He decides this is the only possible option he has to avoid war. He needs to do this not only for the lives of his people but also for the safety and happiness of his little mate.
Follow Darius' and Aislinn's confused, sad and ultimate journey to love and safety for the people that matter the most to them and their own future together.
This book made me smile and cry as I read the story unfolding between the two star or should I say species crossed lovers. The story is full bodied, detailed and charged with emotion. I will be reading and looking forward to any books written or forth coming from this wonderful writer Tabitha Conall.
Since I've really liked the first books in the series, I was super happy to get to read Her Forbidden Alpha. I'm not disappointed.
The story of Aislinn and Darius has a definite Romeo and Juliet vibe, since they are part of ennemy groups, except it doesn't have many of the aspects of Shakespeare's work that I don't like. Darius is a responsible Alpha that is willing to risk the integrity of his pack for his mate only to a certain point. The story makes it pretty clear: if he sends his mate away, he'll go crazy, and bring the pack down with himself. On the other hand, keeping the daughter of the Humans First General with him endangers his pack. Darius navigates a very sensitive situation, and eventually takes the best decision possible for everybody's safety - except his own. I can't help but have a soft spot for those selfless martyrs, and well, it's so much better than getting half the cast killed because a woman said "not tonight".
Aislinn is not passively existing in this story neither. Even if she doesn't literally kick ass, she does have her say in the resolution of the story. And I'm not only talking about the last chapter (though I think she did a great job at securing future peace while getting what she wants - she is going to good at PR and politics, I'm sure), but also about the fact that it must not be easy to leave your mate behind, knowing the effect the seperation will have on him, and still trust that things are going to work out in the end. Aislinn's strenght is inside her, and that's perfectly fine with me.
All in all, a very good sexy romance, that kind I'll keep on my ereader to cheer me up any time. My only complaint is that Mattie wasn't part of the story. Maybe in the next book?

Alpha Darius Bishop believes that peace with the Humans First group is the only way to protect his wolves but at peace negotiations he finds something he didn’t’ expect – his mate, but mating with Aislinn could result in war in this mesmerizing paranormal romance.
Spine tingling tension builds throughout this fast paced and smooth flowing plot drawing the reader into the story while the well written scenes and details make it easy for the reader to picture the story as it unfolds and the strong compelling characters ensnare the reader ensuring they want to know more.
Darius and Aislinn’s mating couldn’t come with more problems, Aislinn’s been raised in the Human’s First compound and her father is the general of the supremacist which means that a lot of people could die if they carry through with the mating and of course there is the fact that the pack isn’t too happy with his choice of mate. The reader can’t help but get caught up in all the excitement as the danger escalates and the couple tries to find a way to keep everyone alive and have their HEA.
The Colliding Worlds concept that the author created is fascinating and promises lots intriguing possibilities for this series and this one is no different, I was completely caught up in the story from the very beginning and I can’t wait to read the next one.
Tabitha Conall’s Her Forbidden Alpha is an amazing continuation of the Colliding World Series. (Please note, while it is the 2nd book in the series, it could be read as a stand-alone book.)
Darius, Alpha of the North American Pack is hopeful to bring peace for his wolves with negotiations from the Humans First Group. While at negotiations, he encounters his mate, Aislinn, daughter to the General of the group determined to make the peace negotiations fail.
This couple is faced with an intense attraction and difficult choices from the minute they lay eyes on one another. Each carries responsibility for their respective race and understands that the personal choices they are forced to make deeply affect those they care about.
Ms. Conall did a fantastic job of creating in depth characters the reader can relate too. We feel their love for one another and their families as well as the responsibilities and choices weighing down on them. Both are willing to sacrifice everything they have for the ones they love . . . but will it be enough? Make sure to read My Forbidden Alpha to find out if Darius and Aislinn get their Happy Every After.
I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next instalment of the Colliding World Series.
How supernaturals came to be in this series was intriguing, but is presented (at least in book 2) as a done deal and there isn't much information given. Instead we get a standard Romeo and Juliet sort of love story with a supernatural/racist twist.
The story itself was ok, but I didn't feel much chemistry between Darius and Aislinn because they don't spend much time together or talk or bond. The sex scenes for me were on the low to medium heat level as well.
I think I would have gotten more involved if they interacted more and if the general (Aislinn's father) was more than a stock authoritarian, bigoted figure. Aislinn's mother pops in, then out and we never find out what her deal is. She doesn't seem to care about Aislinn. Aislinn, herself, seems to be a doormat. She dates the person her father wants her to, is rather passive as a prisoner though it is she, in the end, that prevents a war.
Her Forbidden Alpha was an ok PNR read, but it really didn't provoke any enthusiasm in me to read the first book in the series, Her Kilted Wolf, or follow up on future additions.
I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.
Werewolf Alpha Darius is trying to bring peace between his people and humans. Aislinn, daughter of General Cavett who wants to destroy all werewolves, turns out to be his mate. How will they be able to work it out?
I enjoyed Darius and Aislinn. Though surrounded by powerful and power-hungry men, Aislinn is no shrinking violet. She has opinions and is willing to give them. She also has brains and is willing to use them to avert war and get Darius. Darius needs to give Aislinn more credit than he does. The secondary characters are strong. They are needed to bring the conflict to the story and to drive it towards its end but some of them are scary.
I liked the world building shown in this story but I would like to see an expansion of it. I would also like a better explanation of how the worlds collided and the affects of the collision on the worlds. So far I have only gotten a glimpse of it. This is a very interesting concept and I would like understand more of how the collision has affected the beings involved.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. Holy cow is this book good. When I received this book I was not sure what it would be about but the instant I started it I could not put it down. We meet two characters in this book they are Darius and Aislinn. Darius is the Alpha of the North American Pack, Aislinn is the daughter of the General for the Humans Firsters. By rights these two should be enemies but when Aislinn is sent by her father to set up the meal for the peace treaty these two meet for the first time and they both know there is something more going on. Darius knows as soon as he sees Aislinn that this is his mate and he will do anything to keep her with him. Aislinn knows that staying with Darius will just cause more problems for both of them. This push and pull between these two is and amazing story that will keep you rooted till the very end. I would recommend this story to anyone and everyone get a copy today.
Amazingly refreshingly original storyline Wonderful new and original storyline. This is the second book of the series and yet it is a self-contained story. Engaging, entertaining, enjoyable to read. This story has love and hate as well as a little crazy going on. A father who thinks he’s doing the right thing for the Human Firsters but not sure if he’s playing with a full deck. And does he truly feel his daughter may be better off dead then saved from the wolves? A love story in the middle of a potential war and an Alpha who is trying to keep the peace. Will he have to give it all up to prevent war for his people, including his mate and his sanity? Read the book to find out. Well written storyline with great interplay between characters. Love the concept of the Colliding Worlds and all the things that can come from this series. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I was given a free copy from the author for an honest review.
I was give a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Okay I have to admit that I love this book. The writer took me on a rollar coaster ride of emotions and I loved every minute. Aislinn and Daruis meet at the worst possible moment. Daruis is shifted and hated by Aislinn's General father. Fate has decided they are mates but when war threatens everything what will they do?
I loved how Aislinn and Daruis meet. It's truly one of those wrong place, wrong time kind of situations. Sadly things don't get any better for the pair. Daruis is willing to do anything to keep his mate with him. However no one including Aislinn supports his idea. My favorite part of the book is the ending. It was so unexpected but still so perfect in every way. I will be recommending this to my friends.
This was definitely an interesting take on the shifter romance novel. In this book there are two different worlds. That of the wolves and those of the humans. Suffice it to say that there is tension between the two groups and the humans even have their own version of a racist supremacy group.
It just happens that the leader of the werewolves, Darius, discovers that his destined mate (Aislinn) happens to be the daughter of the leader of the supremacist group. Darius ends up 'kidnapping' Aislinn who can't believe that he is her destined mate. Drama ensues and they end up falling in love.
I would definitely give this book a chance since I liked that it didn't follow the normal formal for a shifter HEA novel.
***Note is was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Aislinn father is the leader of the General of the Humans First and he is trying to go to war against the werewolves. At first Aislinn think her father is trying to make piece between both the Human First but she soon realize that it was all a lie. Darius is headin to the Human First compound for a pice treaty. When he realize his mate is the Generals daughter. He watches her serve food to all of the wolves. His brother Killion smells something strange about the food and tell Darius not to eat it. That's when Darius and Aislinn story begins. Both of them are trying to figure out how to stop the war so they can be together. This book has a lot of drama and some tear jerker parts as well but over it a wonderful book!!!
I have to say that the concept of the story was a little different from other shifter tales I have read. We still had a Alpha, a pack, mates, drama and bad guys. However, the existence of the paranormal element was somewhat unique. I don't want to spoil it so you will have to read the book to find out. This was a well thought out storyline with a lot of twists and turns. The characters felt very real and were easy to identify with. I was surprised that there was a bit of racial bigotry besides the paranormal but it was woven in to the story and really worked well. This is an enjoyable read that keeps you guessing what will happen next. I hope there is more to come and I eagerly await to see what happens next.
I am writing this review for author Tabitha Conall. This is book 2 of the Colliding Worlds series by the author.
Aislinn is trying to help her father with the first meeting of the Humans First between the humans and the wolves. Little does she know that the entire meeting has been sabotaged by her father. Darius has arrived at the meeting of the Humans First but when he finds his mate is there and she is the daughter of the man who hates shifters and wants them dead nothing prepares him for the next outcome.
Wow this story has action, drama and romance all in it. The characters are great and how they interact with other works. This story line is smooth from start to finish.
This is a very good paranormal romance book and 1 that you would do well to have in your library.
I am at a loss for words and that doesn't happen often. This book just blew me away. I fell in love with Darius and Aislinn. I felt like I was right there going through all of their ups and downs. Aislinn has to choose between her family and the man that she knows is the one meant just for her. Darius has found his mate. The woman that is the other half of his soul but it brings danger to his people. They face an impossible situation. Who has to make the sacrifice? I was eagerly turning the pages not knowing what was going to happen next. I loved it. I definitely recommend you try it. This one is going to my favorites. I can't wait til the next one. This author never disappoints. I was given this copy for an honest review.
Tabitha is a new author for me, only having read Her Kilted Wolf before this, but I think I can already say I'm a huge fan! Her Forbidden Alpha has conflict in bundles, romance to warm your heart, and enough steam to short out a Kindle. Two star crossed soul mates in an unbelievably original world, both more worried about everyone but themselves. But in trying to save everyone else, they almost destroy themselves. This does have a HEA, though I was getting worried toward the end, and it even made me shed a tear or two, which doesn't happen all that often. A book has to be written very well to cause that kind of emotion for me. I'd recommend this for any fan of shifter romance books, or romance fans looking for something new.
Her Forbidden Alpha (Colliding Worlds) by Tabitha Conall ** I received an ARC from the Author in exchange for my honest review.** This is the second in Ms. Conall's new Colliding Worlds Series and, I must say, if this is the quality writting we have to look forward to, than it's going to be one outstanding series. A very interesting take on the shifter theme--different but really works! I Loved the main characters especially Aislinn who takes you by surprise with her unexpected actions. This was an Intriguing, exciting, sexy, suspenseful, fast-past read that left me with that wonderful satisfied feeling you can only get when you finish a great book!
Tabitha Conall has done it again! Her Forbidden Alpha has it all including an impossible situation and star-crossed lovers. Romeo and Juliet in the form of a werewolf and a human. Aislinn Cavett and Darius Bishop must choose between love and what is thought to be best for their families. Aislinn is the daughter of the General of the Human Purists, while Darius is the Alpha of his werewolf pack. The shifters want peace, the General wants war. Prejudice and love battle it out.
I love this series and am anxiously awaiting the next one, Her Scottish Alpha. The Colliding Worlds series is awesome in that mystical characters are colliding with Earth... and love!
