...by magical villains determined to bring her and her agency down. The bad guys have something big planned, and like a storm over the horizon, she can feel it coming but doesn't know how bad it will turn out to be.
The answer? Really, really bad. Diana and her team will need to be at the top of their game to survive.
The troll that's adopted her patrols in the night, searching for the cosplaying criminal who has evaded them. The team's undercover agent gets in deeper with their opposition. Inevitably, he faces a moment of truth where he faces off against the good guys. Oh, and Kayleigh wants to mount an AI-controlled rocket launcher on the roof of the house she shares with Diana and Rath, which Diana thinks is the mother of all bad ideas.
The heat is rising, but Diana won't abandon her responsibilities. No way, no how. Which means there's no way out but through.
Magic or mundane, you hurt people in their city, and BAM is gonna bring you down. It's all in a day's work at the newest bureau of the Federal Agents of Magic.
I’m TR Cameron, science fiction author. I’ve been an avid consumer of the genre since I was six, I think, when I broke the seal on my Dad’s copies of the Asimov Foundation books. It’s been all downhill since then.
I have a day job that I love most days, and writing is pretty much my only consistent hobby. When I find time that’s not already filled with my wife, my daughter, my writing, my work, or dodging the affections of our clowder of cats, you can find me playing video games (currently Dishonored 2 – I’m a little behind the times on this one), watching things (Marvel movies, American Gods, Agents of Shield, Justified, The Expanse, Gotham), playing board games, or, naturally, reading.
My favorite authors in Sci-Fi are David Weber, Jean Johnson, John Scalzi, CJ Cherryh, and the giants: Asimov, Pohl, Bear, Heinlein, etc. I read a lot in other genres too, and am a big fan of Matthew Woodring Stover, Michael Anderle, Jim Butcher, and I could go on and on and on. If I had to choose one favorite, though, it would be Stephen R. Donaldson, whose Thomas Covenant series was transformative for me.
Probably my pie-in-the-sky dream for my writing career is that someone would make a movie or television show of my books and I could be a part of the production. Sure, unlikely, but a clowder-dodger can dream, right? My more practical dream is that I can keep writing and both entertaining and connecting with my readers for years and years to come.

There were a lot more twists and turns in this, the fourth book of the series, and it made for an even more interesting read for me
Something big is going to happen, and soon, but Diana and her Team still haven't managed to find out what it is, despite Kayleigh's high tech snooping abilities, or Rath's constant searches throughout the night-time City.
Even Sloan, despite his infiltration of one of the main Human gangs that are supporting the various Magicals plotting against them all, is being kept in a 'need to know' basis, while all the human foot soldiers are left in the dark, until the time is right
But, when lots of actions in the City suddenly blow up, and a whole crowd of those serving in the Remembrances start gathering, Diana, her Team, and even Bryant, get together, to do their best to stop them!
There were some crazy fight scenes in this, with some awesome blow by blow accounts of them, that had me - definitely NOT a fighter - feeling as though I were there, actually joining in with Diana, Cara, Tony, and Anik, for those instances.
I honestly felt, for the first time ever, as if I were a part of the whole thing, and that was a really amazingly described set of actions, that even I felt, and understood, what was going on! Lol
I'm loving the character development in these books, too, and am awed by the sheer quantity, and quality, of the writing.
I feel, in that small, but potentially, powerful circle of people, that they are determined to do all they can to set this huge conspiracy of people back to where they belong.
As far as Diana is concerned, all of the Magicals should be either dead, or in Trevilson, hopefully regretting all the evil and death that they've dished out, so frequently!
I think one of the things I really love about these books, and especially this one, is the fact that Diana's Team are so overwhelmed by the sheer numbers that the baddies can bring together.
I find this much more interesting, seeing how the Team are doing everything possible to overcome such odds.
Although the Senators are bad-mouthing them, I really think they've had plenty of successes.
Even if they did look like failures, to those who would never be asked to put their lives on the line, the way that the BAM Team have had to!
So, as I want to get straight on to reading the next book of this very exciting series, which is book five, and titled: 'Covert Ops', I'll just finish this review and, once I've done with this next book, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it, too!
Another hit out of the ballpark for T.R. Cameron!!!!
In this, the 4th book of the series, Agent Diana Sheen has been personally targeted along with her agency by the enemy! This time the enemy has something huge planned and it is up to Diana and her team to find out what it is and how they will strike!
Diana's companion and friend, Rath the Troll has personally taken over patrolling the streets searching for the enemy that has targeted them. The undercover agent that Diana sent to infiltrate the enemy and send back valuable information is finding it hard. Now he has to go along with his "new" team and target Diana and her team while still sending information to Diana. All of the agents of good are written in this book which makes it a very good series.
Usually, by book 4 in a series, I get bored, but not this time. Yes, the constant fight scenes can get tedious but they are so well-written that the reader can't help but continue reading and not skipping the many battle scenes!
4th installment and half way through the series. Diana and her team get caught in a few attacks launched at the same time in different places. When Diana's friend Lisa gets taken Diana goes on the hunt to get her back with her Drow teacher....Diana and Bryant finally get to go for a date a real date and she gets a hotel room.....what might happen?? what will happen???? keep an ear out and find out Lol.
I loved reading about the different ways these magical characters perform. When they all gather along with regular criminals to target the authorities anything goes. This makes for a really intense battle.
Another enjoyable installment, with nice setups for coming conflicts. I'm enjoying the characters and the battles, and the story is keeping me interested. What more can you ask from a series?
Diana and the others have a lot on their plates. The Remembrance has decided to stop playing and several places will bear the brunt of it. We get Nylotte out of her store. She is always fun. Kayleigh has given into all of the signs and in now living with Diana. Until the first chapter of this book I never realized it had never mentioned where Kayleigh had been staying. Considering how much she had on her plate I am going to guess she’s been sleeping on a cot in her lab. The woman who didn’t want to arm her drones wants to put a gun turret on the house’s roof! That conversation and a later one Diana had with Bryant about it were funny. Speaking of Bryant-my only quibble with the book (actually all of them have done this) is what in the world does “BC” mean? At first I thought it was a riff on Bryant and DC. However that wouldn’t elicit chuckles each time Diana calls him that. In this book the 2 new guys were clueless and it would have been a perfect time for the author to explain what it means. These books don’t do a lot of exposition. Anyone who wasn’t aware of what Oriceran is would be clueless. But something so small as a name would just need one sentence from Cara and we’d all know what we should be laughing at. I am almost ashamed to admit that I have to Google many of Rath’s movie quips. Most of the time once I see what it is from my brain says, “Oh yeah-that scene!”. There are however some where I have never even heard of the source material, much less seen it. I wish there was a glossary at the back that let us know these things. Another author I read started doing that in his latest series because of all the military jargon. Being an Army brat means I actually knew what he was talking about. Any way I enjoyed the book again. This was my second time reading it. I’m looking forward to the next one.
Very well done book, not enough character development in magic powers or technology.
I enjoyed the fast pace of the book. I did not enjoy the bank robbery scene, I personally don’t think it was necessary. That part of the book could’ve been filled with developing Diana’s powers or getting her more technology. I enjoy all the characters and their interactions. What I do not enjoy is Diana’s fighting skills she seems to be somewhat lacking. For the main protagonist of the series she should be able to be above all her colleagues. It seems sometimes she forgets where she is and what she’s doing. In a realistic situation this would get somebody killed. I hope the authors fix that aspect of her character. The book is well done, fun, and a great read. Going on to the next book in the series I think anybody who would like magic action adventure snarky humor will enjoy the series
Once again Martha and Mr Cameron have amazed and delighted with their storytelling. Diana & Rath have delighted as well of course. Now I just have to wait ... but I'm not a doctor I have no patience!
Well this book confirms that this series is one that growths on you and is worth the effort to read. By effort I mean the effort to stay awake till you finish the whole book. This confirms the characters development and implementation is well worth your time.
Great story from beginning to end. The BAN team has their hands full with big assault after assault. We've not seen the end of the bad guys and the level of conflict is getting tougher.
Who are the big bosses and which of the oversize computer have betrayed them. Great characters with realistic situations and lots of action and adventure. Loved all of this book and I can't wait for the next one😀
Loved the action in this story but it all seemed to end quickly. Had some trouble getting into this one until about 40% through it when it seemed to pick up. Great from that point on.
Diana and her team are coming into their own, working together to take on some major evil powers. They make a good dent in their enemies’ defenses, but something tells me we will hear from them again. I loved this book! Ready for the next!
What a rush! I've gotten an adrenaline rush just from reading this book! This is a serious page-turner and I dare you to put it down before the ending!
I absolutely love the characters,as well as the plot. The characters are full bodied, interesting, diversely different, and an amazing team. The fight between good and evil is presented in an extraordinary new twist, very appreciated.
The enemy is pushing, the action is heating up, and we see personal growth with our characters. Another excellent, absorbing book in the series. What will happen next???
