SOME TESTS ARE LIFE OR DEATHDAN KOTLER—Archaeologist, occasional FBI Consultant, certified Trouble Magnet—just wanted a vacation. And an invitation to help uncover and explore a newly discovered Templar tunnel seemed like just the ticket.
When a group of thieves take control of the tunnel, in search of its hidden trove of treasure, Kotler finds himself forced to face an ancient rite of passage, in a network of traps and trials laid about by the Knights Templar, a thousand years ago.
It will take everything Kotler knows to get him through this one.
The Templar Tunnel Kevin Tumlinson 4 stars After events from earlier books Dan Kotler is told to take a vacation. After trying to figure something that interests him he decides to go to Israel. A colleague had invited him to a dig there. Now that man is dead and Kotler is running from the killers. He wanted something exciting to do...This is my favorite story so far. It has nice pacing with a “da Vinci Code” vibe. This is what a “thriller” should be and not some torture crap like a few of the earlier stories in the anthology.
As a student of Medieval history, this title caught my interest. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed all of the Dan Kotler stories. This short story doesn't disappoint. Only Dan could go on a vacation to explore a Templar tunnel and end up finding a lost treasure and taking out some bad guys! I never cease to be amazed at his incredible archeological knowledge and logical thinking process. It was a very entertaining way to spend an afternoon.
A typical Kevin Tumlinson tightly written tale. Can his character’s skills and knowledge prevent catastrophe? This time, it’s into a secretive Knights Templar underground tunnel complex, site of an initiation rite of passage.
I loved The Templar Tunnel! While it’s short (longer than a short story but shorter than a novelette, maybe?), it is vintage Kotler archeological adventure with a satisfying ending. This is a great stand-alone story, and I highly recommend it!
I'm a Templar fan. This is a must read all at once! Dan Kotler has an interesting way of thinking. Yes! He is a Knights Templar! He passed the test! Man after my own heart!
A vacation turns into a quest for Dan Kotler. Working with the FBI Historical crimes unit with no current cases pushes Dan to take a vacation which turns into a fantastic adventure. Quick captivating read.
