After a friend is murdered and another friend becomes the main suspect, Annie Young-Perret decides to investigate the crime only to discover that the one of the four world-famous bankers secretly meeting in her Alpine village may have had something to dowith the killing.
In this murder mystery, three story lines are interwoven: the main murder mystery, mysterious goings on at a Swiss bank, and a historical tale of a medieval saint. The juxtaposition is not very skillful and the writing is particularly wooden and dull when visiting the middle ages. I thought Nelson to be not a very skillful writer.
I so want to like this series. Now that I've read them all, I'm just sorry that the term Third Culture Kid has been used so ineffectually. The culture is so rich and so diverse, but Annie is just multilingual with appreciation for a variety of foods and customs. Wish D-L Nelson had gone deeper!
