The second installment of the Sins of Mercy series.
Since her visit from the first of the Seven Sinners, Mercy Devereux has been living a life of sin. At first, she enjoyed the renewed desires, but now they're starting to control her existence! How is Mercy supposed to live a life of insatiable sin without trading one addiction for another?
The answer comes in the form of Avarice, the greedy goddess Mercy catches ransacking her house one night. Together they can bring balance to Mercy's sins while reintroducing her to the world of ambition and covetousness. Assuming Mercy can distract the deity from her own avaricious ways, that is.
Hildred Billings is a Japanese and Religious Studies graduate who has spent her entire life knowing she would write for a living someday. She has lived in Japan multiple times in multiple locations, from the heights of the Japanese alps to the hectic Tokyo suburbs, with a life in Shikoku somewhere in there too.
Currently, Hildred lives in Oregon with her partner and two cats. When she's not commandeering the corner of the neighborhood coffee shop on hours on end (it's okay, she's on a first-name basis with the baristas) she's probably parked on the couch watching Bob's Burgers or screaming at a Zelda game. (Seriously, Link, why don't you move right?)
Poor Mercy left to linger in Lust’s essence for a whole month. She can’t seem to satiate her need. Enter Avarice(greed)and wow is she hot. Put the two together and I think I would combust. I’m greedy to get to the next one.
Ok Lust and Avarice have been an education for Mercy. I admit to struggling with how these women and the sin they bring to Mercy will heal her. The hot, sexy eay they deliver keeps me reading. They have given her inner vision to see herself better but a lack of control seems to doom her. I look forward to the next instalment.
After her encounter with Lust, Mercy encounters greed, who goes by the name of Avarice. Avarice helps Mercy to understand that the sin of greed isn't bad when balanced because greed is necessary in things such as reaching one's goals or going after promotions. Yet, like she did with Lust, Acedia fears that Mercy may have taken too much from Avarice.
Compelling series this woman Mercy . The depth of her physiological struggle with herself is like so totally a first I've ever encountered in this genre ! I just hope I'm going to be able too finish it . Anyway like I said earlier a very stimulating series !
A little greed is good, right? It's what gives us ambition, after all. But balancing your sins and living life aren't as easy as they sound. Definitely looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!
After this second book, I am starting to feel this series & I'm really kinda getting into it. It's unique, creative, intriguing, entertaining, sexual & just a bit addictive. Looking forward to what Acedia has in store for Mercy in book #3 – Slot.
In the beginning i thought that avarice can’t help mercy. I guess we will figure it out in the next book how nicht it affects her like lust did. The book is funny and witty. Audiobook: The narration of Portia Kay Winters is quite good.
