About the author

Livia was born in a dusty desert and still loves days so hot they melt your sneakers. She also loves men so hot they melt your panties.

When she isn't writing or thinking up dirty stories (which is rare), she spends her time quilting and baking decadent desserts. Rarely, she attempts to clean her house. It's futile, but she isn't one to give up hope.

This book has four short stories, each story concentrating on one of a group of friends around a holiday. The first book is Emily and her boyfriend Jason. She is convinced he is breaking up with her because he is hiding a big secret and spending a lot of money without discussion. She leans on her three girlfriends.

The second story is set at Halloween and concentrated on Courtney and Clint, a guy who is a groomsman at a wedding she is in. They hit it off even though he is not her type and gives her the Halloween of her dreams. Clint is adorable.

The third book is at Christmas. Meaghan is married with two kids. She plans a big Christmas apart every year and plays drill sergeant with her fiends and family, but messed up this year and is rescued by her wonderful husband. Super sweet story.

The fourth story is at Easter and the friends are planning a baby shower. Sonali has an ex, Rob, that she didn’t tell friends she was dating-luckily since he dumped her with no excuse. Now he wants her back. Nice story.

Each book deals with a different holiday for a group of friends. Christmas was Emily and Jason her boyfriend. He is hiding secrets. Then there is Halloween with Courtney and Clint. Clint is in a wedding and they hit is off. Next is Christmas with Meaghan and her two kids. She wants a big party, but messed up. But never fear husband is here. Last book is Easter her friends having a baby shower for Sonali. Her ex dumped her and she never told him about the baby. Now Rob wants her back.

This was a cute read of four best friends all finding love or rediscovering love in its best form. I liked how each storyline was consecutive right after the other that it takes an entire year that each one get their HEA. It’s a good read that these best friends support one another when they can drive each other crazy, but still show that sisterly love.

I really enjoyed this collection of novellas which tell the story of four best friends and their various searches for love. My favourite story was An Irresistible Surprise since it takes place around Halloween - I would really like to be Courtney and Clint’s friend.

Very cute collection of 4 short stories. I love that the stories flow into each other, and each one is about one of 4 friends. All the characters are so likeable and the chemistry between them steamy hot. This was a fun read!

This is a great collection of cute and sexy stories all centering around different holidays. Her characters are strong and the stories flow quickly and smoothly. Each book is well written with descriptive scenes and are entertaining reads.

This is a really great set of four books in one, it’s based around four best friends and them finding all finding love and their HEA over the span of a year. The books were interesting and sweet and I couldn’t put them down. This is my first time reading Livia Lang and I Look forward to more.

A quartet of surprises

In this four-story box set, each story has ‘surprise’ in the title, and each story follows one of four friends as they deal with a challenge in their love lives. The stories are short and sweet, and the four of them together provide a complete story arc for the first couple. A lovely quick read when you need something simple and uplifting.

After reading the summary of the book, I had hope that there would be more "hot" scenes between the characters. However the "hot" scenes were short and straight to the point. Not really what I expected at all. If you're looking for something quick, then these short stories will be for you!
