this is a cute but short shifter romance, he is a platypus shifter in no way looking for his mate, who is called out on an emergency electerical job for a local pub that is holding a speed dating event when he bumps into a human who is his mate.
It is a great short read with plenty of emotion, action and some steam, an interesting plot and fun characters.

When a feisty human female decides on a shifter mate he doesn't stand a chance.! Fun and different a short story that you can read in a lazy evening or even a long lunch break if you read quickly . A shifter who really doesn't want a mate, a human who really does and a villain who wants to stop shifter/human mating by any means possible ... a fun story

This is a short ,fast paced human/shifter romance with an entertaining story line. The author brings strong characters and does a great job painting her scenes perfectly. I enjoyed reading and would recommend this book/series.

The author has given us a fast paced quick read that pulls us into the lives of Slate and Lo/Willow. Slate, shifter, does not believe in fated mates and Lo, human, cannot wait to find her fated mate. Will two people with different beliefs be able to have a relationship?

This was such a fun read, totally lighthearted, but it had an undercurrent of speciest behaviour that, thankfully, doesn't overthrow our couple's romance. There are a ton of sparks in all the right places, though, and a bit of action to keep things hopping. Altogether, it's a great addition to the series.

This shifter love story is for Slate and Lo. Now why would you not want your mate you bad boy Slate. I loved this human Lo and how she jumps right into the whole he is mine mating and is determined to keep what is hers. I can not wait for the next book.

Slate was on vacation but went to bar to fix the electric as a favor for Felix and his mate kinda jumped him. He tried to fight the mating call but couldn’t do it, she didn’t care about his animal. The person doing the threats was a surprise didn’t see that coming! Great book!

I forgot how much fun this series is, once you get into the quirkiness of it. Totally Sparked is the seventh book in The Shifter Speed Dating series and is the story of Willow "Lo" and Slate. Slate is an electrician who has taken the week of July Fourth off to have some downtime and a vacation. That all gets upended though on the first morning when he receives a call from Felix Fox, well really his human mate Luna. The Bar has a power outage and the electric company has said there is something wrong with the panel. They have a big Fourth of July event scheduled to start soon so this is an emergency. Felix and Slate served together in the Shifter Special Forces so Slate grumbles his way to the bar. What Slate was not expecting was to encounter his fated mate and that she would be a human woman. Lo is friends with Luna and has come to The Bar as they are having a shifter speed dating event as part of the Fourth of July celebrations. Quite literally she sees Slate across the room and is drawn to him. Before either of them even know it Lo claims Slate for herself but he is not having it, even though he feels the pull and connection. One toe curling kiss between them is all it takes to turn both their worlds upside down, well that and a threat to all of the human women and anyone at the event. As Lo claimed Slate it is now up to him to protect her as she is no longer under Slate and Luna's protection. Slate is begrudgingly takes Lo back to his house in the country and there things get interesting as they have a pull but he keeps trying to deny his feelings.

This is another quirky, funny, sweet, and sexy story. There is a bit of drama, action, danger, hot passion and more. I really liked both Lo and Slate and their quick journey to a lovely HEA is very entertaining. This is a humorous addition to this series.

Short, sweet and boom! Slate is set for vacation time... 1 week alone and nothing to do! Felix calls needing help with the electricity... Slate caves and goes to help his friend when BAM! that feeling hits him outta nowhere and when he looks there's Willow claiming him. He fights it but someone starts issuing threats to the para's and humans attending this event and Slate is pushed into keeping Willow to keep an eye on her. Not 5 minutes into "keeping an eye" on her and they're at it! Love this quick, short fuse love story! Throw in the dick, sister's fake mate, and a good brawl... Willow gives the final blow and puts that jerk out. Help arrives and takes the Fox shifter away and Slate and Willow work on their mate bond.

Slate is a platypus shifter and military buddy to a bar owner, Felix, who calls due to an electrical outage at the bar, which is about to start a shifter speed dating night. While there, Willow (Lo) presents herself as his mate although he is not having it. When the situation turns dicey at the bar, he takes her to his cabin for protection from the threat.
The characters are interesting and have some great banter, especially at the bar front door. Lo is the best friend of the wife of Felix, and also human, so there is a support bond there as well. The storyline went in unexpected ways as backstories came out. Surprises and twists, like his sister and her situation, kept the pages turning, wanting to see what happened next. Loved the epilogue special - fireworks begets fireworks.

Not impressed

I’ve read some of these and unfortunately they are hit and miss for me. This one is a major miss. Considering this was entirely from his point of view only, I felt like I was missing a bit. I found the girl WAY too forward and a bit unbelievable considering she’s supposed to be human yet she somehow knew he was her mate immediately on sight. Most of the time girls question those type of feelings. His shifter animal sounds cute but I’m a little disappointed that since he’s a prey animal, he didn���t try to beef up his human skills since his animal wouldn’t be good in a fight. He was fighting and the girl had to hit the other guy over the head with a pan (Really?). It was just so rushed, didn’t flow, and the physical stuff just wasn’t good enough to carry it through for a novella.

Once you have accepted that (see title) you are ready for this story. This is a quirky series with unusual prey Alphas (for the most part) and this one fits right in. Slate has been planning a vacation but to help out Felix, a friend from his Spec Ops days he ends up at a shifter / human speed dating event only to have Willow, (known as Lo) claim him as her mate. A spine-tingling kiss, Slate's denial, and a death threat against everyone at the event, including Lo, lead to a HEA. A short, fun read that's perfect for a lazy summer afternoon, this has delightfully written characters and a touch of trouble. This is book 7 in the shifter speed dating series. This is the story of Slate and Lo. 
Slate is an Platypus shifter and does not believe in fated mates. Lo is human and claims that he is her fated Mate. I loved how Jo took the reins to convince Slate that he is her Mate. Her whole demeanor and appearance, her attitude. Just awesome. But they are in danger, there is someone who basically threatens everyone to stop shifter/human pairing in every way possible... Will Jo be able to convince Slade? Will they find their happily ever after?
This was such a fun read, totally lighthearted. There are sparks in all the right places and a bit of action to keep things hopping. Altogether, it's a great addition to the series.

Another great short story by Zoey Indiana. Must say I've never come across a platypus shifter. Zoey definitely has me on that one. And I learnt something new when it comes to a paddle of platypus lol.

Short and sweet and a bit of fun you could finish this in under an hour. Despite that Zoey does take you along a good journey. I usually rate Zoeys stuff at a 5 but this is more a strong 4 for me. I think its down to the luke warm attitude of Slate. So more the storyline not being something I really liked rather than the style of writing or anything else. I would definitely recommend Zoey Indianas other writings. Her vengeance series is great.

This is a short but great read, it has Willow, a human female, and Slate, a male platypus shifter. Slate is called to The Bar by his friend Felix. The electrics is down and there’s no one else available to fix it. With great reluctance he goes to fix it but as soon as he realises Willow is his mate he is out of there. It’s only the threat against Willow that stops him. He needs to protect her even if he doesn’t want to claim her. He’s surprised and kinda not surprised when the threat comes from someone he knows.

While fireworks were not in evidence, sparks flew between our hero who gave up hard-earned vacation time to fix the electricity for the first legally-sanctioned shifter speed dating venue for its Independence Day event. It only seems right that our hero be rewarded with unexpected love despite the efforts of less-than-enlightened bigots. (Sounds like current social tensions, doesn't it?) Still, a light fun read with romance, thrills and lots of sparks in all the right places - this was just the thing to help enjoy a little quiet time during my 4th of July.

I've read the box set of shifter speed dating romance and met shifters you don't usually met in your everyday paranormal reading. At times, I wondered how a huge man can transform into something so small but putting logic aside, magic is involved so it's possible. So I just couldn't resist reading this book to find out the next book in the series.

The story packs a lot of heat and humor. How will our protagonists have their hea when the hero refused to be mated to the human who had claimed him? That's where the fun is.

This shifter speed dating story was really short. Slate is an electrician who's been called by Felix his friend to fix the electricity at the speed dating bar. There is a girl in the room, he didn't know, and all the sudden she said Hi mate. Slate is so surprised. She is a human claiming Slate is her mate. He starts to run but ends up having to take Lo, his mate, with him to protect her. That's when all the fun starts and we find out that Slate is a platypus. First shifter i've read about a platypus. This interesting and unique Box 7 in The Shifter Speed Dating Book Series has nice, short, steamy, standalone story with fated mates. This well written stories have characters who are well crafted, unique with good personalities and histories. This has a good plot with intense scenes that keep you entertained throughout the entire book. The characters in this book have problems that they overcome and the characters develop throughout their story. This is a short, steamy, shifter romance that has daring adventures, bearded heroes, and fated mates.

Slade is an unusual shifter and electrician who is asked by his friend Felix a bar owner and friend to fix the lighting in the bar that they're having a Fated Mated Dating Night if he can get it fixed.
A woman Lo comes through the back door and says words he does not want to hear but he knows it's a fact but won't admit that she is right. Then when an animous message is sent and Felix tells him Lo is on it he changes his mind about things. The storyline is interesting, funny, dangerous, romantic. This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Zoey Indiana's Totally Sparked, the seventh book in her Shifter Speed Dating series. This is a super fast, blink and you miss it read. While there are certainly more meaty stories in this series, Slate and Willow's story is no less intense or entertaining. These 35ish pages pack a punch and definitely leave you smiling. A great breaktime read that is spicy! Mature Readers Only Please!

Slate is a shifter that does not believe in fate mates. Lo is a human who wants to find her love. When Felix called Slate to help at the bar, the last thing he expect was Lo, claiming him as her mate. Although Slate did his best, he could not fight the call to claim Lo. Not all shifters are happy that some are mating with humans, and this puts all in danger.

Slate and Lo's story is a fast whorl wind of lust, passion and love mixes with danger. This is a great fast read that will melt your heart.
