The Angel Gift by Michelle Madow is the fourth book in the Dark World: The Angel Trials series. This series is a spin off of Michelle’s Dark World: The Vampire Wish series but I don’t think it’s totally necessary to have read The Vampire Wish series although readers would certainly have a much deeper understanding of the world within and a glimpse at the characters that have crossed over to continue on from the end of that series.

Like the previous series The Angel Trials is a urban paranormal fantasy read that includes shifters, witches and demons, vampires and nephilm. There is also mentions of the ending of the previous series and Annika who was the lead character so as mentioned starting with The Vampire Wish would definitely give a deeper understanding of everything.

The story in this series is centered around Raven Danvers who was about to celebrate her 21st birthday. Raven’s mother claimed that she is a witch and insisted that Raven would gain powers soon enough but Raven was skeptical of magic. However when Raven was confronted by demons and saved by Noah, who is on a demon hunting task from Annika, Raven’s eyes were opened to a whole new world. Each book picks up right where the story has left off and continues on from there.

As with all of Michelle Madow’s books the story is an incredibly fast paced and action packed adventure that still wonderfully builds the world and characters along the way. Each book will end with a jaw dropping cliffhanger that leaves readers anxious for the next in the series but then the next builds the action up even more and more. All of the books of the series have multiple points of view with Raven having been the strongest voice early on in the series but now it changes more often with the characters being split apart but to me each voice is still unique. As usual with the pace when finished I feel a bit of whiplash from the action and ending and can’t wait for book five coming in Dec.

I received an advance copy from the author, many thanks to Michelle Madow for allowing me to once again read early.

I received a free copy of this book directly from Ms. Madow. Thank you Michelle, this is my review.

This is the 4th novel within this Angel Trials Series.

This novel picks right up where the last one left off; with Sage and Raven being kidnapped by the Greater Demon that has been seeking Raven out.

What I really liked about this installment was seeing more of the imprint bond since Noah imprinted with Raven novels ago, and Thomas and Sage within the last novel.

I read this novel in one sitting, I always fly through Michelle's novels because they are always so action-packed.

Raven finally has some answers about her mom. And Sage is not the character she has been in the previous novels.

I can't wait for the next book already, especially since Avalon has been teased so much at this point.

This fourth book in the series slows the story down a bit. With the girls captured, the action is slower until the last quarter of the book. We get to spend a bit more time understanding the bond between Raven and Noah and the impact of the blood curse on the bond between Sage and Thomas and Mara and Flint. This story focus' much more on Raven and Noah plus the introduction of Mara's (Flint's mate) point of view. I enjoyed this book very much.

In the previous instalment, Sage and Raven’s attempts to ensnare a demon backfired and they were captured by Azazel. Upon her return to the pack, Sage was appalled to learn that Flint had not only imprinted on Azazel’s daughter, Mara, but intended to forge an alliance with Azazel in order to protect his pack in the upcoming war. Injected with a complacent potion that robbed her of her free will, Sage was forced to participate in the blood binding ceremony that bonded them all to Azazel.

Meanwhile Raven wakes up in a bunker that is guarded by demons. Her fellow prisoners are also human, each with a special power. As the days pass, Raven comes to realise that they are all being rounded up for something. But what? She also learns that her mother was here and was moved to the next level a couple of days ago. Raven’s only hope of escape is to use her imprint bond with Noah to communicate her whereabouts.

Meanwhile Thomas and Noah are frantic when they realise both Sage and Raven are missing. They spy on the Montgomery Pack and realise what has happened. Thomas refuses to give up on Sage and arranges a clandestine meeting with her regardless. His attempts to persuade her to go with him are futile as her allegiance to Azazel is stronger than their imprint due of the blood bond with the former. Thomas finds a surprising ally in Mara, who regrets persuading Flint to go through the blood binding ceremony as she no longer recognises the man he’s become.

Knowing they can’t help Sage until they have figured out a way to break the blood bond, Thomas and Noah turn to the Devereaux witches for help to track down Raven. Will they rescue her in time?

The Angel Gift is the fifth installment of the Angel Trials series and is told by Raven, Noah, Thomas, Mara, Bella and Jessica’s point of view. Mara’s point of view was particularly insightful and I feel that she will be a crucial ally later down the line. The mating bond has culminated with a piece of Flint’s soul being fused with hers which has led to her now having a conscience, something which all femon’s lacked before.

We don’t make a lot of leeway plot wise due to Sage and Raven’s capture. However, several revelations come to light. We learn what happened to Raven’s mother, Skylar, following her abduction and are given a hint of Raven’s possible gift. We are also given a small teaser of Azazel’s agenda through Mara’s point of view; that he is in the process of acquiring something that will make demons indestructible and that the ‘greater plan’ was conducted with the demon Lilith and a member of the Foster witch circle. It will be interesting to learn more about this and whether or not our trio can find a way to break the blood bond and save Sage in time in the next instalment.

This is pure urban fantasy adrenaline. Michelle Madow never gives her readers a chance to breathe and honestly, I kind of love that. Raven’s world just keeps expanding with demons, witches, shifters, and all the chaos that comes with them. The action is constant, the emotions hit hard, and those cliffhangers? Evil in the best way possible.

I flew through this one in a single sitting and immediately wanted the next book.

I’m disappointed.

I was really liking the series. The pace, the characters, the plot, the narrative... but this book was kinda blah next to the other ones.

Let’s start with the nonstop reminder from Noah that he needed Raven back in his arms. I mean, ok, I get it. She’s your soulmate and everything, and I know you’re really worried about her, anyone in your position would be, but God, you don’t need to say it in every chapter...

Then there was Thomas, whom I like quite a lot. He was a bit out of character (which considering the circumstances wouldn’t be weird) during many conversations. Some of them just sounded weird, maybe since English is not my first language I got something wrong... bec there were dialogues that I was like: seriously?

One of the weirdest scenes is when this character dies, and Raven sees her dead body and then she looks at Noah and goes like: “he looked super hot and badass”. I mean, really???? REALLY?

Next she’s running off to Noah like: oh my, I missed you so much. And I was kinda: uh, you noticed that there’s is a friend dead on the ground right? I mean, there’s no need to have a breakdown or anything but someone just literally died trying to save you.

I’d give this 2,5 ⭐️. But I can’t, so I’m gonna go with 3⭐️.

I’m just gonna pray for the best in the next one...

I read ARCs of the first three books in this series and the prequel series to this one! I then received an ARC of this book and had just finished my current read, so I was able to read it straightaway! I loved the first three books and the last book was left at the perfect place, so I couldn't wait to read this book! I will admit that I did have to go back and re-read the last few chapters of the last book, but after reading this book, I can say that I loved it a lot! It was continued on perfectly from the end of the last book and it only took me a few sittings to read! The plot also developed at a fast pace and it kept me hooked all the way through! There was also a bit of action, but there wasn't a ton of romance! There were reasons as to why there wasn't a lot of romance though and there was a lot going on! The characters were again amazing and made this book even better! Raven was again the main female character, and in this book she had been taken and she was in an unfamiliar place! Raven also came a long way in this book and she discovered her power in this book! I also connected with her all the way through this book and just loved her! Noah was main the main male character and love interest of Raven! I loved Noah a lot in this book! He was determined to find Raven and make sure that she was safe! This became Noah's main focus in this book, which was completely understandable because he loved her! I also got to know Noah more in this book, which I loved! Thomas and Sage also had a romantic relationship in this book and were more secondary characters, but played very important roles in the plot! I can't wait to see what's going to happen next for them! I loved that that this book was written from a few different point of views! I was expecting this because the other books were written from multiple point of views! This book was written from Raven, Noah, Mara and Thomas' point of views! There were a few chapters written from Jessica and Bella's point of view too! Quite a lot of this book was written from Noah's point of view, which made me really happy, but the other characters point of views added so much and allowed for a lot more things to happen in the plot, especially as the characters were going through their own situations and were separated! It helped me connect with all the characters too! I now can't wait to read the next book in this series! I'm loving this series and this book was left at the perfect ending to lead into the next book! It also says that the next book is going to release in December, which is a few months wait, so I'll definitely be on pins and needles waiting for it to release! The cover for this book is also stunning! I love it a lot and it matches the covers for the other books perfectly! It matches what happens in the plot too! The cover model is again the perfect Raven! Big thank you to Michelle for an ARC of The Angel Gift!

Raven and Noah's story continues in the fourth book. This series is turning out to be even better than I expected. I love Raven's character so much. She seems like a normal human girl but the demons think she is gifted and that keeps putting her in harm's way. She is kidnapped by demons, along with Sage. Now she must find a way out of her prison. She is sure that Noah will be looking for her so it won't be long before she is free and once again on the quest to find her mother.

Noah and Thomas are trying their best to find the girls. Unfortunately, it's not as easy as they thought. Sage is apparently beyond rescue and they still have no idea where Raven is... until they get help from a very unlikely source... now all they need to do is, kill some demons and find a way to stay alive.

It's an action-packed, fast-paced paranormal fantasy novel, which I enjoyed reading very much. It's part of a series and cannot be read as standalone. So far I've loved all the books in this series and can't wait to read more about the adventure of my favorite characters.

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Review:

Protagonists: In this installment, the POV characters are switched up a bit. There’s a greater focus on Noah and Thomas, specifically Noah as I think he has the most chapters out of anyone, even Raven, in this book. We do get to see quite a bit of Raven though, as she learns more about both her captivity and her “gifted” human status. Interestingly, Sage does not narrate any chapters in this book, which makes sense due to her being forced into the blood bond at the end of the previous installment and this story does go into why her having a POV chapter wouldn’t be so interesting without actually addressing it head-on. Finally there is a new POV, or at least I think her POV is new, and that’s Mara, Azazel’s daughter, I was extremely surprised at how much I liked her chapters, sure her character arc does feel a bit tropey, but it’s a trope that I like so I’m completely on board. I really loved reading from all these characters POVs, each one (apart from the last chapter POV) had something to learn and experience over the course of this tale, except maybe Noah, which is a little disappointing, I mean there are plenty of other characters that had phenomenal development in this story, but since he has the majority of POV chapters, not to mention that he’s my favorite character, I would have liked to see some more development from him in this story and more of a purpose in this installment than just the guy who wants to get Raven back.

Romance: There was actually very little romance in this story, I mean it’s not surprising as our two main romantic couples have been separated, not to mention the fact that an individual in one of those couples, Sage, has been so fundamentally changed that she’s pretty much not the same person anymore. There is some romance in this story, though there isn’t much romantic development, and certainly no romantic development with our two main couples as they need to overcome a few obstacles before those relationships can continue to develop. The romantic development that is in this story is more laying the groundwork for another couple, Flint and Mara, finally showing Mara’s side of things and her feelings about her imprinting bond with Flint after the blood bonding ritual.

World Building: How the world Building unfolds in this installment feels a bit different than the previous installments in the series, I mean, there is expansion to the world, we start to get a better idea about what the demons are planning, in fact, I’m pretty sure I know what their endgame is, but I did leave this story with more questions than answers as to HOW they will accomplish this feat. Still, in many ways this story feels like filler, pretty open and shut in terms of the amount of story progress this installment will have, and while we have some new information and we’ve met some new people, this felt like more of an unplanned pit stop (or kidnapping, whichever you prefer) on their way to Avalon and while I didn’t expect they’d reach Avalon in this story, which they didn’t, and even though I told myself to view this story as an episode of a TV drama which helped immensely in the previous installment, this story just felt like it was missing something, maybe more about the “gifted” humans, though I suspect we’ll get more on that later, maybe another Mara chapter, maybe even an Azazel chapter, I’m not sure all I know is it feels like it’s missing SOMETHING. (Edit: About a day after writing this review I realized what that SOMETHING was, I talk about it in the conclusion.)

Predictability: Overall this installment did feel very by the numbers, there were, of course, a few moments over the course of the book that caught me off guard, such as what I think Azazel’s, and by extension many if not all of the demons’, plans are, but even then, when I’m caught off guard like that, I’m not surprised, in fact, I was only surprised two times and they were both towards the end. Also, I will say that there are a couple moments in this tale that seem a bit too easy and a bit too constructed which pulled me out of the story a few times, so I do wish things were a bit harder on our protagonists, that way they feel like they’ve really earned their victory, should they have one.

Ending: Again, as it seems the theme of this review is, the ending was pretty predictable, and while this was the only time in the entire story that I was truly surprised, that only applies to two moments in the last few chapters. The final climax is great and included one of the shocking and surprising moments, but it did play out mostly how I expected. There was also only one point during this story that I was at all confused, and that was the final chapter. In Madow’s typical Dark World form we have a final chapter from the POV of someone new, but unlike past, let’s just call them epilogues, unlike past epilogues this one didn’t have the same cliffhanger gut punch for me that it usually does, I feel like I missed some subtext or just plain text because while I felt I understood what was going on, I just didn’t feel that signature Madow stomach dropping cliffhanger, but then again, I’d rather have a calmer ending than that torture-fest and the end of the last installment.

Rating:

While I did utterly devour this installment, as I said numerous times in this review, it’s missing something, everything that’s in the book is fantastic, except for maybe the epilogue, but it's been about a day since I wrote this review and upon reflection I realized what it was missing, it was missing all of the great character interactions from the previous installments, while I love seeing our main characters interacting with newer and returning characters, because everyone's split up, there's sort of a hole left in the story that not even a fantastic story like this could fill in.

The Angel Gift by Michelle Madow is the continuing story of Raven, a seemingly normal human girl who was abducted--twice--because of her gifts, that she doesn’t even realize yet. Her only hope for rescue is her wolf shifter boyfriend, Noah, a vampire prince, and whoever they can get to assist. It’s not an easy task, as all they have to go on is that Raven and Sage, another shifter--who just happens to be in love with the vampire prince, were taken by a greater demon. There are no clues pointing to where they’ve gone, or why they were taken.

I received an advance copy of this book, and enjoyed it so much that I decided to review it. Madow is one of my favorite authors, and I am a huge fan of this series. Once I open the book, I know I’ll be done with it within 24 hours, because I can’t put it down. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys adventure and a supernatural element.

One thing for sure, there's still no clear information as to what Raven gift would be. The story focused on the imprint bonds communication attempt between Raven and Noah, plus some insights on Thomas's talent and effort in rescuing Sage.

It's more on the boy's side's POVs - Thomas and Noah plus Raven's daily life, plotting etc., while in captivity. I'm curious about Jessica tho, is her story ended there? It's weird to read a final moment from the character; it leaves a bitter taste 🤨.

Was it the same experience with Raven's mum before moving to the next 'stage'? How are they going to break the ancient blood binding for Sage? I can't wait to read the next one. Now I have more questions and only three more books to go!

First of all, I just want to say thank you to Michelle Madow for giving me an ARC of this book to read in exchange for an honest review. No compensation was given, offered, or taken to alter the opinion.

After the jaw-dropping cliffhanger at the end of The Angel Trap, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book to find out what happens next. This book isn't quite as action packed as the others in the series, but what it lacked in action, it made up for it in story building. I love that Michelle's novels pick up right where the previous one left off because that makes it so easy to binge read these books. I always fly through these books because they're fast paced and easy to read. We follow Raven's and Noah's viewpoints in this installment for the most part, but we still get to see viewpoints from a few other characters as well. I'm already anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!

Another great book! We get the POV of a new character... Mara. Things are definitely getting more interesting! We don't learn too much yet about the demon-bound wolves, but we learn a lot about the gifted humans. I liked all the little gifts people have and how they became useful in their time of need. It's intriguing but still a mystery of why the demons want gifted humans. We also never find out what happens with Jessica. A lot of loose ends, but hopefully we'll find out more in the next book. Overall, great read!

These books always pick up right where they left off. This book has some heart breaking moments in it, but there is also a heart warming end even though it still leaves you on the cliff. Plus Raven finally figures out what her gift maybe and I got to say I think and have it too. 😂 Can't wait till the next one to see if thing will change for Sage, I need that girl back on the right side of things with Thomas where she belongs.

Good

Lots more action going on now. More characters are being introduced and the main characters are growing throughout the series and are becoming less infuriating. The plot is thickening and making you guess what maybe next for this group of supernaturals.

This series keeps on getting better. What a thrilling ride!

You can’t help but fall in love with this series. Demons, Vampires, Shifters, Angels. What is there to not to love? That is everything that I love about fantasy novels. It seems no matter how hard they try get to Avalon, something keeps getting in their way. I have been curious since the first book, what would happen in Angel Trials. I loved seeing a new character’s point of view, Mara. I was wondering what she was thinking, how she felt about everything since her and Flint imprinted. I know I probably shouldn’t like her because she is Demon, but I do, and I feel sorry for her. I can’t begin to imagine being in love with someone and then have them change way Flint did after ceremony. I wonder if he stay that way or if there is way that she could get the man she fell in love with back. I do think that she is trying to help others. Writing that note to Thomas, shows that. I do understand why everyone is hesitant to believe her, conspiring their experience with demons. I wonder if Mara will be mentioned more in the next novel. I am rooting for her to get the guy she fell in love with, back.

Thomas, I loved reading from his point of view as well. Beside Raven, Noah and Sage, he became another favorite character of mine. It’s clear how much he loves Sage and I was heartbroken when he saw how Sage acted. But I know that he won’t give up on her, despite what he learned. I hated seeing Sage like that, it’s not like her. I hope Thomas, and everyone can find a way to bring Sage back somehow. I am sure that Thomas won’t give up until he does. I do believe that it had something to do with fact that their imprint bond wasn’t the same because of the way that Sage had changed. I’m glad that at least Raven was able to communicate with Noah through their imprint bond, even if he wasn’t able to respond to her. But it is the reason that he was able to find her and to rescue her. I loved fact that Raven kept on trying to reach him, on how she wouldn’t give up. She’s strong and determined.

Ever since Raven and Sage were abducted. I wondered what Raven’s gift could be and I am sure that was the reason that they kept coming after Raven. I knew that there was reason that they were kept healthy and were forced to eat all their meals. I didn’t think that the next location, it wasn’t any better then this. I just hoped that Raven would get rescued before that time came for her. THE ANGEL GIFT was filled with action, suspense and I found myself turning the pages until I reached the last page. I can’t wait until THE ANGEL ISLAND comes out. I want to see if they finally make it to Avalon and what will happen once they do. I feel as all of the characters became my friends, and I know that it series I will be re-reading in the future. MICHELLE MADOW has an amazing talent and after reading THE ANGEL GIFT I am inspired to write myself.

Breathtaking.

Once again Michelle Madow has injected her imagination & creativity Into her words, bringing them to life in the next instalment of “The Angel Trials” seamlessly continuing from the end of book.3. When Raven & Sage was kidnapped by The Greater Demon, who has plans to make the world a place run by Demons. He put his plan into action at the end of book.3. With the capture of Sage. This had me in absolute tears as Sages world was ripped away from her, right after imprinting on her first love a enigmatic Vampire named Thomas. Now Michelle Madow takes our emotions on another journey, twisting and turning them inside out with dread, betrayal, terror and despair, with a deep knowledge they may never be reunited with the women they love. They need Allies, searching back, hoping they can convince others to join there plight. Raven herself is developing another plot to add to the storyline. She is hidden amongst a group of humans who all have their own secrets. To be there amongst them Raven must have a secret herself, she has no clue what that might be and fears she will never be reunited with Noah again. Thomas manages to find Sage, but he is not ready for the cold, calculating woman he finds. That was the short version of this book. You will experience so much more, when you read it. You will become completely engrossed, you will not notice the sky changing from light to dark. I feel These books are slightly shorter than a full novel but certainly not a novella. Or maybe I feel that, because I can never put it down from start to finish. Be prepared to enter back into a world that’s build is normal and never questioned in your mind. The characters are realistic and individual. This journey is like a ball gathering speed down a hill. It’s always moving, gaining momentum and collecting other species along the way. I’m still excited and loving this series. Michelle Madow came to my attention with her series “The Vampire Wish” which was incredibly good. This is also where you will find Noah’s original story. Well worth a read.

(Spoilers ahead)

I really liked this installment of the angel trial series. I hadn't continued the series for a few months because I had tried to binge read it all, but ended up getting burned out so I needed to take a break. but even though it's been a few months I found it easy to remember the most important details of the story, and even if I needed a light refresher, Michelle does a great job in adding small details to help with this, and I was like: "Oh I remember that!" This installment isn't action packed until the end of the book, but it does a great job in focusing on the many characters that are a part of the story. I even cracked up at one of Noah's lines that said: "Shit. He imprinted on a demon." I don't know why I cracked up at this but I did!

I also felt really bad for Sage as she is no longer the character I remember, I hope the other characters do get to help her out of her situation in time. I also felt bad about why her broken engagement to thomas happened in the first place. That made me feel very angry for her. Bella seems to be a nice addition to the cast and is so far one of my favourite witch characters- I hope she stays with the gang going forward.

The angel gift did a wonderful job in its suspense and build up leading up to Raven's rescue. It goes to show that not EVERY book needs to be full of action. Sometimes focusing on the characters throughout a story is worth it.

Picking up after the trio (Noah, Raven and Sage) has become a quartet with vampire prince Thomas joining their quest. As soon as they leave Thomas’ warded home, Azazel swoops in and takes Raven and Sage; Noah and Thomas are befuddled but get to the witches to ask for help. Raven has been taken to the bunker prison of her nightmares while Sage is taken to her brother, Flint. With Sage home, Flint keeps his side of the bargain despite Sage’s protests and mates Mara.

Planning to get help from Flint and his pack, Noah and Thomas are stunned to see zombie-like Sage home, so is everyone else. Thomas gets a note to Sage, that she shows to Flint, he in turn wants to take it their ‘protector’. Mara intervenes and goes with Sage to meet Thomas and listens as Sage flatly tells him they have no future unless he joins her. Disheartened hearing Sage and noting the change in Flint since their mating, Mara worries she’s helped to do the wrong thing.

Raven is able to contact Noah through their bond though he can’t reach her. Learning as much as she can, Raven sends info to Noah. Partnering with Thomas and the witches, Noah takes part in a daring rescue, they get 36 gifted humans out of the bunker but Raven recognizes one of the witches in their new sanctuary from her time in ‘Europe’.

When we last left our beloved characters, Sage had been forced into a blood bond against her will, Raven had been kidnapped, and Noah was working with Thomas to try and find them. As the boys searched frantically, we got a glimpse into why the demons were so interested in Sage. If you've read the first Dark World series, you'll notice a nice tie-in with the known mythology of this world, and if you're like me you'll smack your head wondering why you didn't realize it sooner.

This book jumps around a bit from character to character. We get to learn a bit more about Mara, which is an interesting point of view we haven't seen before. Raven also makes friends with her fellow prisoners so we get to know some new people who will hopefully contribute more as the tale continues. The plot in this book isn't quite as fast paced as some of the other books, it's more of a mystery-to-be-solved with a heightened level of suspense. How can we save Sage from her trance? Will Noah be able to rescue Raven in time? Where is Raven's mother?

The more time I spend in this world, the more I enjoy it. I could totally see this being adapted into a TV series. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I volunteered to review an ARC of this novel.

OMG!! Well I was left frustrated by the end of the last book, although I loved it, because it seemed like forever to get to the Angel Trials. We are still not quite there yet but WOW, way to keep the reader hooked.

Raven was abducted at the end of the last book, in this book we find she was taken to an underground bunker that has been magically concealed and is guarded by demons. Raven discovers that this is the place her mother was taken to and she missed her by mere days. She finds herself being held captive with other gifted humans but no-one knows what it is the demons want them for. She doesn't even know what her gift is. All she knows is that the demons want the humans healthy before moving them on to the next place. How will she escape, can she get a message to Noah through their imprint bond.
Sage was separated from Raven when the initially got to the bunker but Azazel had other plans for her and returned her to her pack. Thomas manages to locate her but how can he save her from being bound to a higher demon.

Great characters and some awesome scenes, another book you will not want to put down.
Michelle Madow your writing is so one of my guilty pleasures.
Highly recommend

Demons, shifters, vampires, magic, adventure and a heck of a thrill-filled ride are the hallmarks of Michelle Madow’s Dark World: The Angel Trials stories and that’s certainly the case with The Angel Gift, book 4 in the series. I love Raven, the Star here, and how she deals with all the freaky things thrown at her. Other characters such as Sage and Noah are equally superb. Frankly “superb” is the key word here. So is “fun”, as in a guaranteed fun read. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

I'm very torn on this book in series. The ending of book 3 was devastating and I wanted that situation resolved in this book of the series. Yet that didn't fully happen. It was awful to see a character who was written so strongly just give up with no sign of even an inner battle from that change. Maybe it's supposed to be this way and while I understand maybe she can't battle it the same way I expected, I needed something, some sign of something for that character. Granted there was another character who changed after certain events occurred and I needed that, but I wanted more from her as well. That character has the potential to wreck everything...let her realize it. The Angel Gift did leave off on a better note for the other characters so now it's just time to wait and see what happens to these characters next.
